The story was shocking: As PJM’s Rick Moran stated Saturday, “The financial services company PayPal announced a controversial policy to deduct up to $2,500 from the accounts of users who spread ‘misinformation.’” But as the news of this astonishing plan circulated far and wide, PayPal experienced a swift backlash in the form of a blizzard of account cancellations, and quickly backed down, claiming that the announcement went out “in error” and adding: “PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy.” That’s terrific, or would be if it weren’t for the fact that PayPal’s current Acceptable Use Policy still threatens $2,500 fines per infraction for promoting “hate” and “intolerance” — language the Left regularly uses to characterize (and demonize) speech that is critical of its insane policies.
Eugene Volokh pointed out Sunday that PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy, which was last updated on Sept. 20, 2021, warns the unfortunate PayPal user that “you must adhere to the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy,” or else: “Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy constitutes a violation of the PayPal User Agreement and may subject you to damages, including liquidated damages of $2,500.00 U.S. dollars per violation, which may be debited directly from your PayPal account(s) as outlined in the User Agreement (see ‘Restricted Activities and Holds’ section of the PayPal User Agreement).”
Click on that “Restricted Activities and Holds” section, and you’ll find a long list of “you must nots,” including the expected prohibitions of fraud, selling counterfeit goods, and the like. But included on the list of things you must not do is “Provide false, inaccurate or misleading information.” False, inaccurate, or misleading in the eyes of whom? Why, of PayPal’s Leftist hall monitors, of course, and no one else, including the person PayPal accuses: “If we believe that you’ve engaged in any of these activities, we may take a number of actions to protect PayPal, its customers and others at any time in our sole discretion.” No one else’s. You’ll have no appeal, no recourse, no opportunity to present your side of the story.
And among the “Prohibited Activities” listed on the Acceptable Use Policy page, you’ll find forbidden “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory or the financial exploitation of a crime.” No problem, eh? You have never engaged in or ever plan to engage in any promotion of hatred, violence, or intolerance, so you’re in the clear, right? Wrong.

Hearing this yesterday, I immediately canceled my account.
Hadn’t used it much anyway, because it was so dang woke but…
I’ve been dumping lots of companies lately, Gillette, Coke, Campbells and Cadbury for starters, and while sometimes it takes a bit of time to find suitable non woke replacements, not only have I’ve always managed to do so BUT, if not, I found I COULD live without the product.
I’m at the point where I would rather pay a bit more, for maybe not as good product, as long as they shut the H up and leave me alone, and simply back their product.

Everyone needs to stop using it. I have a Pay Pal account but haven’t used it for several years. If I don’t have the cash to buy something I want I put it on credit card or use Afterpay.

These are people who will tell you there is no God and yet they make gods of themselves. They will say there is no right or wrong but they will find what is wrong with you and then punish you for it. They are arrogant and self-righteous but weak-minded and must rely upon manipulation of the mob and mob rule to get what they want – and they want it all. These are the ones who should remain sterile and childless or, if they do reproduce, should immediately dash their own offspring upon the rocks before then throwing themselves off a cliff as they scream on the way down, “I did it my way.”

So, if one has an old account, not even remembering the password, and not using the said account for many years, are the overlords of paypal still able to take money from one’s bank account for something they say someplace where paypal is not involved?
And I agree with CES in his comment above, except for “dashing their children upon the rocks.” If they have kids, before the kids have learned all the evil that they are likely to get from their arrogant parents, give them to someone who recognizes the frailty and imperfections of human creatures.
satan is out to destroy mankind…all of mankind, even those people who work with and for him. It’s becoming harder and harder to miss this fact as those who believe themselves to be gods put pressure on the rest of us to cave in to their desires and obey them.

I realize that my remarks about the ones who would be gods killing their offspring is harsh but I think it is still justifiable. These people will raise their children to be the same as they are and they would also rather see their children dead rather than be raised as a Christian. They are our enemies and in time they will come for our children too. I say let them be free to reduce their numbers and eventually eliminate themselves in order to save our own children from having to fight them. Again, I know what I’m saying is harsh but in the longer term it seems like choosing the lesser of two evils.

I completely understand. I just love little kids and wish they could all be taught the Truth…on whatever subject is being discussed…and they could all be happy.
I have read the accounts in the Bible…multiple times….where the Jews were told that the kids had to go along with their parents or they would lead the Jews astray. but, it was some difficult reading and I try to focus on God’s mercy.
Many little kids are being murdered by their parents and friends of their parents…and the adults who are doing the murdering, are not drowning themselves in the sea. They should do so.
