It should be recognized by now that the more Leftist a political leader is, the less likely it is that his or her country will support Israel. Leftists generally ignore the facts of Israel’s history, as well as the jihad that Palestinian Arabs have been waging against the Jewish state since before 1948. Such is the case of the Australian Labor Party, which just reversed a decision by a previous government to recognize West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Foreign Minister Penny Wong thinks that negotiating with the jihadist Palestinian leadership will result in an internationally favored two-state solution that will bring peace.
At the UN recently, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid even offered to negotiate a state for the Palestinians, but the Palestinians showed no interest. Instead, they unleashed the usual loud barrage of accusations against Israel to drown out the discussion and return to the usual victimhood scenario in which Israel is the bad guy, regardless of the Palestinian pay for slay program and rocket launches.
In 2020, “Penny Wong declared the Australian Labor Party ‘opposed’ the move and explained the reasons why, including that, in the party’s view, it would ‘undermine the prospect of a two-state solution [and] violate international law.'” Wong is ignorant of history.

In reality, a one-state solution, involving the total destruction of Israel, is supported by all too many Palestinians, and the charters of the major Palestinian organizations bear witness to this goal. That one-state solution is also supported by American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has declared that in a future Palestinian state, “not a single Israeli” will be found. “The Palestinian Authority applauded the Australian decision.” Of course. Last year, the Palestinian Authority and the International Criminal Court colluded in a war crimes investigation of Israel.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid slammed Australia’s announcement on Tuesday that it would no longer recognize West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, as the Foreign Ministry summoned Canberra’s envoy to clarify the matter.
“In light of the way in which the decision was made in Australia, as a hasty response to incorrect news in the media, we can only hope that the Australian government manages other matters more seriously and professionally,” Lapid said in a statement.
“Jerusalem is the eternal capital of united Israel and nothing will ever change that,” he said.
The Foreign Ministry, which Lapid also heads, said Israel “expresses its deep disappointment” over the decision, calling it the result of “shortsighted political considerations.”
At a faction event for his Yesh Atid party later on Tuesday, Lapid said that “what happened in Australia was a change of leadership.” He added that as a general rule, Israel did not define the capital cities of other nations, so other countries should not do so for Israel….
However, the Palestinian Authority applauded the Australian decision.
“We welcome Australia’s decision with regards to Jerusalem & its call for a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy,” the Palestinian Authority’s civil affairs minister, Hussein al-Sheikh, said on Twitter….

Very disappointing, we had high hopes for the Labor government when they were elected.
They are a huge change from the self serving corrupt Liberal/National government that had been destroying or country at the behest of their mates in big business for the last decade.
This is one of the stupidest decisions they have made. To be fair though, they have a huge job ahead of them to repair Australia’s economy, environment, national security and a lot more.

The two state ‘solution’ is the sme as the fibal ‘solution’ of nazi Germany. The only reason the ‘pals’ want a state is so they can attack Israel from both sides, in other words to annihilate Israel.
A ‘palestinian state’ would be just as corrupt as the authority they now have with its dictator Abbas.
