“Turkish police batter LGBTI pride marchers, detaining at least 36 in capital Ankara,” Reuters, July 5, 2022:

Turkish police used teargas and pepper spray to halt an LGBTQ+ Pride march in the capital Ankara on July 5, detaining at least 36 people after authorities banned such marches in cities across the country for security reasons.

Reuters journalists saw police pepper spraying activists and dragging them across the ground before handcuffing them and putting them in buses. UniKuir, an Ankara based group of LGBTQ+ activists, said at least 36 people were detained….

Homosexuality is not a crime in Turkey, but hostility to it is widespread and police crackdowns on Pride parades have been increasingly tougher over the years.

  1. Honestly I’m surprised they did not kill them all. It might not be illegal in Turkey but it sure is under Islam.

    • It is the mullahs who lead the charge to enforce Sharia law when it conflicts with national laws in Muslim-majority countries. Turkey, though theoretically secular, has always feared the power of the mullahs.

      Now that Erdogan has purged the army of secularists, the army is no longer able to overrule religious fanatics like Erdogan and re-impose secularism on Turkey.

      Turkey is involved in a war between the SCORPIONS of Islamic fanatics and Turkish secular nationalists who have definite, fascist tendencies.

    • Kuffar, if you think that Islam only targets homosexuals, you are much mistaken.

      • Yes, ALL kuffar are legitimate targets for ISLAMISM (political Islam).

        First the Muslim fanatics came for the homosexuals, then they came for the Jews and I did not protest because I was not one of them. Then they came for atheists and agnostics and I did not complain. Then they came for Hindus and Wiccans, and I said ‘I don’t care’. Then they took away the Christians and I said, ‘So what?’ Finally, they came for anyone else who was not a fanatical Muslim, and I had no one to protest for me.

  3. These marches are public displays of lewdness. We see now that LGBTQ etc al activists want to indoctrinate and sexualize children. These marches should be banned, but the sharia punishment for homosexuality is barbaric.

    • What I don’t get is why the LGBTQ fraternity need gay pride parades? You don’t see corresponding straight pride parades so why do they need them? Is it they hope to gain legitimacy for decadent behaviour, most people are embarrassed by the disgusting display. What is the reason? I’ve seen disgusting TV footage emanating from such parades in front of children, naked men from the waist down in front of children should not be condoned whatsoever and teaching sexual depravity to children in school should be banned and the perpetrators arrested.

      • they believe if regular, normal, moral people are exposed enough, it will no longer seem decadent or disgusting and that to children, it will be as normal as being “straight” and they can “come out” and no one will think anything about it. and if enough become like them, the rest of us will be the abnormal, different and outcast.
        It’s a tool of satan, just as it was in sodom and gomorrah.

        mozlums actually practice homosexuality….they just don’t want anyone to know they do.
        so when they see evidence of it in others, they go with the urge to kill….as they do anytime they get that urge, no matter the *reason* they present.

        • Reading between the lines Muslims prey on kaffir/dhimmi boys and girls primarily because of their repressed social structure with females who aren’t allowed to go out alone, and for good reason, which tell us all we need to know about Islam really.
          I had a friend who went on a group tourist tour of Egypt back in the 70’s and his wife was blond and hot and he was saying he had offers multiple times to sell his wife, they have no respect at all, scum in my book.

          Gays in Turkey should be free to hold a parade or celebration if they can find the right venue, because expressing yourself is a human right. I dislike these lewd parades because I don’t think anyone should be nude and lascivious in public. Pay for a room.

        • Interesting exchange. Now I’m not a fan of these silly gay parades, but yes SH, I believe they are trying to make LGBT normalized, ‘fun’ and acceptable.

          So can someone explain to me what is exactly wrong, evil, or immoral about two human beings (consenting adults) who care about one another, dating, marrying etc, if they happen to be of the same sex?

          Do straight people find it strange? Sure, but is that any reason to hate on this community?

          Some might say “god hates gays.” But never in human history has any god visited anyone. All we hear are myths, lies, stories, but no proof.

          I’m sure we can all agree every single religious text is man-made. That is why there are so many competing religions with all their different gods, beliefs and rules.

          So in fact nobody is following a real God’s commands, but the scribblings of some goat-herders from the Bronze age.

          That’s why there are some idiotic, nonsensical rules, like don’t eat shellfish on Sunday. Even insane, evil, sadistic rules like stone your daughter to death on her wedding night, if she’s not a virgin.

          Some might say it’s ‘unnatural’ which is also untrue and homosexual behavior has been observed amongst other animals.

          What about STD’s? Straight people have been spreading them too…why single out gays?

          As for Sodom and Gomorrah, those are just silly myths and fables to keep people in line. There was no great flood, there are no talking snakes/donkeys, no man living in a whale, the Jesus myth existed in many cultures before it reached the mideast, etc.

          People need to study history books and not just rely on so-called ‘holy books,’ aka desert fables.

        • Just to clarify in case you got the wrong impression, personally I don’t give a rats if gays and lesbians do whatever they like in private but public displays should have some acceptable level of decorum, no full frontal confronting nudity which among other things is just plain lack of respect for everyone present, and children don’t need to be exposed to adults prancing around in the nude either on the street or in the classroom.

          Yes I also find some of this displays vulgar and they need to put some sensible constraints on their parades, but I’m also largely indifferent as I don’t attend them.

          So long as they act within the laws, that’s what matters. People do things that offend others all the time, for instance I don’t like pro-lifers (or forced birthers, women-killers), to have their anti-abortion marches…but we have to tolerate each other in free, democratic societies.

        • All good Fitna, I’ve never been to a gay parade either but there have been some TV coverage with blurred bits and pieces with things not so blurred on some social media I believe; there was a segment on the Bongino Report I think it was showing what the spectators were exposed to, like an adult male with a rabbit headdress sort of hopping down the street with nothing on elsewhere, it was probably more humorous than anything, but still, what are we supposed to make of such behaviour? It is aberrant to say the least; we probably won’t expect a Supersymmetry Unified Field Theory to emerge from any of the participants in the near future.

        • LOL, nope Greg, I doubt we’ll see anyone from that crowd contributing to Relativity or Quantum Mechanics, but hey maybe they’re advancing the fashion industry with the rabbit head-dress. 😛

          Despite the silliness that these gay parades tend to be, it’s worth noting that some gays have made significant contributions to humanity such as Alan Turing (father of the computer), singers such as George Michael, writers like Oscar Wilde and Michel Foucault, just to name a few.

          So the gay community as a whole isn’t totally useless. 🙂

        • Actually, there have been quite a few scientists who are gay. I’m not going to delve into the deep past where this is mostly speculation, but more recent cases include Alan Hart, Alan Turing, and Sally Ride. I’m sure there are many more.

          Probably not this guy in the rabbit head, though, I’ll give you that…

    Disgusting but no surprise. I hope gay people in the West take notice–this, and much worse, is what Islam calls for.

    • While LGBTT-rights activists are making great progress in non-Muslim societies, gay communities in the Muslim world are left fighting for even the most basic of human rights, and in many cases, their very lives.

      In the nominally secular nation of Turkey, a country which is often held-up as a poster-child for moderate Islam, persecution and violence against homosexuals [along with non-Muslim minorities] is on the rise, with eleven gays being killed within the first half of 2009 . This behavior is consistent with the results of a survey released in November of 2009 which found that a massive 67% of Turks “would continue acting in accordance with their religious beliefs if the Parliament passed a law that contradicted religious laws.” and only Twenty-six percent “would obey the country’s law in this case”.

      I agree with GI. Western gays need to learn EXACTLY the punishments they would get in a Muslim country.

      Here’s what Sharia law actually says about punishing homosexuals: flogging, stoning, thrown from high place, wall pushed over to crush, burned to death.

      Homosexuality is not only a sin, but a punishable crime against supreme-law-giver Allah under Islamic law.

      • Exactly, Mortimer. I had a friend who was gay and anti-Jihad, but he was a very lonely guy given his understanding of the threat of Jihad.
