But now the world is governed by those human rights promulgators who themselves committed severe human rights violations that can never be faded from the dark chapters of human history”, Riaz Pirzada pointed out. He also congratulated Iranian government on its perseverance and struggle in the face of decades long propaganda and economic sanctions imposed by the West and the US.

mortimer, there is a story told by the redoubtable Oriana Falacci, in her book, ‘The Rage and the Pride’. I don’t remember where exactly but, she was brought in to interview or be interviewed by Ayatollah Khomeini after he lead the overthrow of the Iranian gov. and made it what it became. She was lead in, by his people in full burqa, and they began a conversation that went on and if I remember correctly, she got annoyed finally after his droning on about women’s rights in Islam, and at that point, she tore the head covering off her head yelling ‘Now we will speak of human rights, or something to that effect. Anyway, if I remember, Khomeini’s son wrote his guards immediately pointed their AK-47’s at her as she stood there defiantly, until his father, as he told the story, laughed for what was the first and only time he ever sawy, and told his men to lower their weapons.
Anyway, she was no ordinary person who couldn’t be shut up there, but now… hell, they’d probably shoot her too.

Reply to Rafael: criticism of Islam is not permitted according to Sharia law, but in Western countries, the mullahs cannot use vigilante squads to murder critics as they can do in Muslim majority countries.
What the mullahs are actually demanding is to have a MONOPOLY for themselves to speak about Islam.
Islam is an HONOR/SHAME culture. Any statement that reduces the ‘honor’ and ‘image’ of Islam must be removed by the MULLAHS who are the guardians of Islam. For instance, an American politician went to Egypt and asked them to stop FGM in the name of feminism. Well, the local mullahs told the president of Egypt what to respond. He said, ‘There is NO SUCH PRACTICE in Islam’ … even though, over 90% of Egyptian women have had the FGM procedure!
So the mullahs want the monopoly of speech about Islam so they may tell lies like the aforementioned and not be accountable by anyone.

I think that he must mean that the “special focus” of the iranian government is on crushing, on annihilating women’s rights and empowerment. Now that’s fixed. No different to the basic focus of Islam throughout its entire miserable, totally misogynistic history.
