Carlos the Jackal: ‘I am a Sunni Muslim. I believe in the goal of Palestine. I have killed at least 83 people.’

Islam lends itself to authoritarianism, which is why it is so favored on the Left today.

Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, known as Carlos the Jackal, is an international terrorist who for decades was considered to be the most wanted fugitive in the world. He was born in Venezuela to a wealthy family. His father was a devout communist who hated the West and – against the objections of his wife – even named his son after Soviet leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin….

His terror activities led to the deaths of over 1,500 people, mostly while working for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to which he got exposed after getting expelled from university and joining a training camp for foreign volunteers of the PFLP in Jordan in 1970. 

He experienced the events of Black September firsthand when King Hussein had thousands of Palestinians, who had set up military training camps in Jordan, massacred. 

Carlos fought on the Palestinian side and later joined the PFLP as a member. 

During this time, he terrorized targets in Israel and Europe. All major intelligence agencies tried to capture him, which he managed to evade for 20 years, hiding in countries such as Syria, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, and Sudan. 

He was close to such leaders as Saddam Hussein and Mu’ammar Gaddafi, and as a mercenary terrorist, collaborated with other Arab leaders against the West and Israel. 

In 1994, after two decades on the run, Carlos was captured in a daring mission and has since been imprisoned in France. 

Directors Yaron Nisi and Dani Liber interviewed Carlos on the occasion of the release of the second season of their Israeli docu-action limited series “Enemies,” which depicts the secrets of Arab leaders through the eyes of Israeli intelligence services and covers Gaddafi, who ruled Libya from 1969 until his assassination in 2011. 

They are also working on a series to depict the years-long pursuit after Carlos. Below are some excerpts from the rare interview. 

Q: Can you begin by telling us who you are and where you are speaking to us from?

“My name is Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, and the media calls me Carlos the Jackal. I am from Venezuela, my Venezuelan parents have long passed. I am a communist, just like my father, a Stalinist communist. I believe in God, I am a Sunni Muslim. I believe in the goal of Palestine. I was the first non-Arab person to join the Palestinian struggle. I have killed at least 83 people myself, and between 1,500-2,000 have been killed at my command.” 

Q: Why have you been dubbed “Carlos the Jackal”?

“Throughout my life, I’ve had more than a hundred fake passports. One of the first ones I used while on a mission in Europe, was a Peruvian passport made in Baghdad, and the name written on it was Carlos Andrez Martines Tores. 

“After the shooting mission, which was published in the media, they started calling me Carlos. I was dubbed “the jackal” later, inspired by the novel The Day of the Jackal, which was found among my belongings in a hotel room on one occasion I fled. My Palestinian name is Saleem Muhammad….

  5. My reaction was, so this piece of shit, murders 83 people and causes the deaths of all those other people, and he is still alllowed to stay alive. This evil, inhuman oxygen thief should have been executed ages ago. The death penalty is the only just and correct punishment for some people and this scumbag is one of those creatures.

      • Thanks for the +1, Wellington. It is unfortunate that this maggot is alive and getting any attention at all. I agree with what you say down below. This scumbag is certainly “highly deficient” in any kind of humane qualities. I guess that there is either nothingness waiting for him after death, or if there is a God of the decent, loving kind, I’d say this man will face a very harsh judgement for these murders that he seems pretty proud to have carried out.

  6. Islam aside, Stalinist Communism and a compassionate God have absolutely nothing in common.

    Contra, if God exists and is in compliance with Stalinist Communism, then we do indeed live in a creepy universe and God’s a jerk. But I don’t accept this. Could never accept this Have no good or sound reason to accept this.

    But I do wonder why this highly deficient man accepts this. Must have something to do with Islam, which is the one major religion that is replete with all kinds of awful and even malevolent “matters.”

    If I know anything, I know this, i.e., what I just wrote above. And may the Islamic deity, if existent—and for which I have zero respect—kill me tonight if I am in error which I literally would bet my life on I am not.

    He started out raised as a Communist, studied in the Soviet Union, then joined Jihad terrorists and somewhere along the way converted to Islam.

    And as many people as he killed, he intended to murder many more. His exploits include trying to murder a Jewish business man in his bath and several failed bomb attacks on banks and newspapers deemed sympathetic to Israel. He also took hostages and had several shootouts with the police.

    He also planned other attacks, including bombing Radio Free Europe.

    There’s more.

    But he was expelled from the Jihad terrorist PFLP for *not being savage enough* because he didn’t immediately shoot hostages when European authorities were deemed too slow to respond to demands.

    Just hideous all round–and this thug is still proud of his murderous barbarism. The original Red/Green alliance.

  10. Some people here at Jihad Watch might be interested in the mysterious deaths of two young women out here in Australia. I have no idea at all what has happened and the police here in Sydney don’t seem to have a clue so far. The two women, sisters, lay dead in their flat in Canterbury, a suburb of Sydney, for a month before being discovered, which is a horrible situation. I googled “two young women from Saudi Arabia found dead in Sydney flat”. There are many reports there. I read the report from the UK Daily Mail newspaper which gives a good summary. I thought that maybe these two sisters both committed suicide, but who knows. Police are saying that the family in Saudi Arabia are not suspects at all and are cooperating. It is a pretty sad and tragic case. I heard a presenter on the radio this morning saying that the sisters had seemed to be scared of something or someone. The photos of the two women show women not wearing the Muslim head covering. Anyway, it all seems to be a complete mystery at the moment and police may never solve the mystery and are asking for help from people who may understand what has happened. .
