Biden’s visit to East Jerusalem was always going to be nasty.
The visiting official refused to let Israelis accompany him to an event with “Palestinians” and just to drive the point home, his limo took off the Israeli flag, emphasizing that he does not recognize a united Jerusalem.
US President Joe Biden’s motorcade no longer had Israeli flags on it during a visit to a Palestinian hospital in east Jerusalem on Friday, despite his assurances that the stop is not a statement about Israeli sovereignty in its capital city.

“Today’s pictures of his limousine on its way to east Jerusalem, without the Israeli flag that has been flying at its helm until now, highlights the message he is trying to send; that the sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital, is on the table for negotiation,” World Likud Chairman Danny Danon stated.
At the actual event, Biden didn’t just hurl symbolic insults.

Speaking towards the end of his two-day visit to Israel, the US president said: “The background of my family is Irish American and we have a long history, not fundamentally unlike the Palestinian people, with Great Britain and their attitude toward Irish Catholics over the years, for 400 years.”
Former Capitol Hill staffer Boris Ryvkin tweeted: “Biden is saying the ‘Palestinian people’ are indigenous and the Jews, with ties to the land of Israel going back three thousand years across multiple sovereign kingdoms, are foreign colonists. Stuff you’d hear from the PLO or US English professors rather than the POTUS.”
Josh Hammer, opinion editor of the magazine Newsweek, wrote: “Shame on Isaac Herzog for giving this man some sort of honorary ‘friend of Israel’ medal.”
Stuff you’d heard from the Left. Which is exactly what this administration is.
Within the context of the event, these weren’t offhand remarks buried in the address, or improvised, they are how Biden intended to open his remarks. This is very much a continuation of the Obama administration’s approach to delegitimizing the Jewish State.

In the Old Testament, the name ‘Israel’ is mentioned well over 2,000 times: 1489 times in I & II Chronicles;591 times in the books of the Prophets; 441 mentions of ‘Israel’ as the name that was given by God to Jacob. The New Testament mentions ‘Israel’ or ‘Israelite’ 77 times.
Jerusalem is NEVER MENTIONED AT ALL in the Koran. ‘Israel’ appears 46 times in the Koran and ‘Children of Israel’ appears 20 times in the Koran. ‘Palestine’ does not appear in the Koran. The Koran refers to ‘The LAND’ of Israel as the land Allah assigned to Jews and where Allah commanded Jews to dwell.

If the partition of Mandatory Palestine in 1923 was similar to the partition of Ireland in 1921 it is because the group with a big grievance got most of the terroritory, and the minority got about 25% of it.

The partition of Palestine has already produced a two-state solution. Until 1967, the West Bank people were Jordanian citizens … not ‘Pallies’. When Yasser Arafat arrived they suddenly became a new nationality. They became distinct from Jordanians and from ‘Lower Syrians’.

The birth of Abraham is estimated be around about 1813 BC. The Jews take their occupancy of the Holy Land from about that time. We don’t know much about the ancient Canaanites, but we have interesting records from the Ugarites and Eblaites who spoke a similar language to Ancient Hebrew.
Abraham’s arrival in Canaan gives the Jews an occupancy of nearly 4,000 years in the Holy Land. That would make Jews ‘indigenous’ to the region by any rule of thumb. There are no identifiable ‘Canaanites’ living today unless they are the Jews themselves.
During the Babylonian Exile, all occupants of Israel, including the Philishtim were exiled. Only the Jews return under the command of Emperor Cyrus.
The Romans out of spite exiled the Jews from Judaea (Latin for ‘land of the Jews’) and renamed Judaea as ‘Palestina’ even though no original Palestinians had returned from Babylonia. The large-scale ‘Return’ of Jews to the Holy Land began in the 1850s and was the start of the movement to reboot a Jewish homeland.
Other groups that have a history in the region are also still there and live in Israel, but the Jews have the longest history of occupancy, so they qualify as the ‘original indigenous people’ of the region. This certainly gives Jews a right to live where Jews have so many historical associations with the land.

The flag of the ‘Pallies’ is the same as the flag of Jordan minus one star. Presumably, they have plans to put the star back in the future when the Kingdom of Jordan and territory of Israel are forcibly reunited by the Muslims.
