Revealed: Biden Officials LIED When They Said Disinformation Board Wouldn’t Target Americans

The Biden administration’s notorious Ministry of Truth, the Disinformation Governance Board, is “paused,” not dead. It’s likely that as soon as the foes of the regime are distracted over something else, it will be back. But now, Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have obtained whistleblower documents that reveal that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, in whose department the Board was slated to operate, and former Board chief Nina Jankowicz lied to the American people about the Board’s purpose and scope. Despite repeated denials, it was designed from the beginning to monitor and restrict the free speech of American citizens.

On May 1, CNN’s Dana Bash asked Mayorkas, “Will American citizens be monitored?” Mayorkas’ answer was as unequivocal as it was reassuring: “No. The board does not have any operational authority or capability. What it will do is gather together best practices in addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries from the cartels and disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing in addressing this threat for years.”

And in late May, Jankowicz sparked controversy when she tweeted that “the spread and effects of disinformation on American society have only worsened and become entrenched in domestic politics” and added: “This is the type of work I had hoped to do at DHS, and the type of work the USG sorely needs to invest in. This is the type of work that I have built my career on—not a few contextless tweets. And this is the type of work I will continue in the public sphere.” When she was reminded of the denials that the Board would get involved in domestic politics, Jankowicz insisted that all she was talking about “raising awareness of the falsities coming out of the Kremlin” and there was “no ‘combating’ domestic sources anywhere in the mix.”

Now, however, according to Hawley’s office, “the whistleblower documents show that The Disinformation Governance Board was originally conceived in part to monitor domestic speech regarding ‘conspiracy theories about the validity and security of elections’ and ‘disinformation related to the origins and effects of COVID-19 vaccines or the efficacy of masks.’” Even worse, “DHS planned for a partnership with Twitter to suppress disfavored content and planned a meeting with Twitter executives exploring the concept.”

That’s not all that Mayorkas has been lying about, either. Hawley’s office notes that “on May 4, 2022, Secretary Mayorkas testified under oath to Senator Hawley that the Disinformation Governance Board ‘had not yet begun its work.’” Mayorkas knew when he said this that it was false, as “the Disinformation Governance Board charter was drafted in January 2022 and personally signed by Secretary Mayorkas on February 24, 2022.”

    They want to stifle dissent. In their view, any DISSENTING information is ‘dis-information’.

  2. A colluding partnership between authoritarian government and business corporations was termed ‘CORPORATISM’ by Benito Mussolini who developed this system of top-down governance. Today, we call this system ‘fascism’. One of the features of fascism is INFORMATION CONTROL !

    It is clear that the Dems’ ‘information control board’ was intended to be part of a broad social control system which would turn the information sector of the US into a purveyor of one-sided, government-approved messages … also known as ‘propaganda’. The government would decide which messages are ‘approved’ or ‘certified’ and which messages are ‘disinformation’. The private media corporations would then implement the government’s controlled messaging, removing anyone with a dissenting view.

    CHILLING that they thought they would get away with this in ‘The Land of the Free’ !

    • That will depend on who writes those future history books. Mayorkas’ place in American history is, as yet, still open for debate. Freedom fighter or arch-villain? There’s no way to know right now.

  4. I just don’t understand the current Lefty mindset, are they just profoundly ignorant of history? Or is it that most of them like the concept of free stuff at the price of top down control that comes with it. But whatever, the most mysterious thing is the violence they demonstrate if you rock the boat with facts that illustrate their hypocrisy, it’s like they are brain damaged from something and now they act like juvenile delinquents when they are supposed to be adults.

Senator Hawley in the about interview had explained that Biden’s “Disinformation Governance Board” would enable Biden agents to infringe and persecute an American citizen who even wrote an article questioning if the mask mandate for claims protection from the coronavirus is really a good idea or is in nothing more than for the placebo effect.

    To just think about it , to even write a light hearted Dr. Seuss type poem , if subversive old Joe would have his way would be enough to have the “Biden agents come after the man or woman who wrote it.

    For example , the poem “I will not wear the stupid mask. I will not wear it here or there, I will not wear it anywhere. I will not wear it in a plane, I will not wear it in a train. I will not wear it on my ear. I will not wear it out of fear. I will not wear that stupid mask, so don’t even bother to ask.”

    How terribly offended and upset the Biden boys would be , with their politically correct mindset , would be a such a short little poem that they would come after anyone who had written it.. For It doesn’t take much to make those PC people in power angry .

    By the way Benjamin Franklin in his periodical POOR RICHARD’S ALMANAC did have a good valid point when he printed ‘There are many reasons to become angry but very few good ones.”

    It would have been an insidious serious infringement on and against the rights of American citizens of freedom of speech. An transgression of the most basic US Constitutional rights of the American people being allowed to to speak and write in freedom without suffering kind of harassment by agents of “Big Brother Biden” Most likewise , the once god and grand Federal Bureau of Investigation which now has tragically been corrupted and terrible subverted by the horrible influence of the Red/ Green alliance.

    As Senator Hawley had revealed that even writing articles questioning Biden claims about that really occurred on January 6th 2021 would be enough to have the “Biden agents” come after the writer.

    For truth expounding about the human and US Constitutional violations that happened on 1/6/21 wouldn’t “go over ” so well if Biden has an say in it .

    For example , as in that essay that “Part of leftist, and Marxist, that global attack on freedom was observed by the horrendous left –wing set up on January 6th 2021. It definitely was not an “insurrection” that the pro-Trump American patriots took on that day. They had no weapon and were not attempting to over through the US government. The only people killed, murdered on that terrible day were two peaceful unarmed American patriots plus another one almost brutally murdered, all of the women, by those leftist appointed Capital “police” I use that word “police’ very loosely when applying to them because those politically correct” Capital “police” would never make it , qualify , to join a genuine police force .     Nevertheless those Antifa and BLM thugs aren’t in prison. With Biden and Harris the USA is falling into tyranny.

    In addition, one of the Antifa leaders had let it slip out that he and the other heads of Antifa had bused to the pro-Trump rally many of their Antifa operatives to infiltrate into that Patriot rally, then posing as “real patriots” they deliberately incited mayhem. “

In which slowly more and more PC thought control by the D.G.B. and other branches of Marxist/Islamic infiltrated branches will act to further chip away it the freedom of speech and then even freedom of thought granted by the American citizen’s by the US Constitution.

    I took the appalling Obama (and all those who voted for him were equally appalling) at his word. He meant what he said.

    But why try to “fundamentally transform” the greatest polity in history? Ah, a clue to Obama’s real intentions and why for anyone with half a brain the puppet Biden is a “stand-in” for Obama’s third term, never mind the 22nd Amendment.

    Big picture, even bigger than the small-minded man who is Obama and the exceedingly small-minded man who is the ever dismal Biden, to wit, the Left hates America, hates freedom, will not inculpate non-Western societies for all the wrongs they did all the while hating the West, hates capitalism, hates the people in control of their own destiny, et al. By now this should be clear to most everyone, even the denser sort. Alas, it still is not—and worst of all the bastards on the Left are doing everything they can to ensure that fair elections never happen again—don’t grasp this specific and you cannot possibly grasp truth in its generality.
