Muslims accuse Ilhan Omar of unbelief, call her ‘disgrace to the hijab’ because of her Pride Month tweet

On June 2 (local time) United States lawmaker Ilhan Omar published a tweet in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Notably, the world is celebrating ‘Pride Month’ to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and to fight ‘discrimination’ against them. In her tweet, Omar said, “Happy Pride Month! We won’t stop fighting until all LGBTQ+ Americans can live free from discrimination.”

Her tweet did not go down well with the members of the Muslim community who expressed their ‘disgust’ in comments and quotes over her views.

Twitter user Islamicize wrote, “The way organizations still scramble to get hold of her for their events is a shameful show of weakness and absence of gheerah for the deen. How have any scholars still not takfired her is beyond my comprehension.”

Another Twitter user Muhammad Sattar Khan said, “What kind of Muslim are you, don’t you feel fear of Allah and his messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him)?”

She was even called ‘Qaafir’ by a user Abdul Hamid while another user Jiya’s RM called her ‘Shaytan ki Behn’.

Twitter user Mohamed questioned if she ever read Quran and said, “Did you ever read the story of Prophet Loot in the Quran? Do you know what happened to the wife of prophet loot? She wasn’t doing the wrong act but her sympathies and her thinkings were same as the people of loot and in the end she was hit by the stone and died.”

Khushnood Ali Khan assumed Pride Month might have felt like Eid to Omar. He said, “Pride month is like Eid for Ilhan. She has been supporting this cause for her entire political career. And some compassionate imams have supported and defended her as well. You’re literally a disgrace to the hijab you’re wearing. If you are supporting them you are one of them.”

Twitter user Cihan Adem-i said her tweet was an example of ‘How to leave Islam in one tweet…’

Twitter user Crazy Warya blamed her support for the LGBTQ community on her third husband Tim Mynett who is a non-Muslim. He said, “The main issue started the moment you been divorced from a Muslim guy and remarried a non-Muslim and now you start supporting a thing that is against your faith better for you if you remove the hijab cause of your pics shows something against your tweets.”…

    What will she say and do in defense? i. elmi on the hotseat. Will be looking for her word-wiggle to try and dispel the accusations from her mozlum critics.

          her father was a terrorist in somalia, a criminal, but escaped to the U.S. with his family by changing their last name for elmi to omar because he found out that the name elmi was not being allowed in, but omar was an acceptable name at that time. so, by fraud he an his family….including this snake in Congress….came to the U.S. she should be sent back, without any of the money she has made here.

      When they start passing fatwas against her, it’ll be worth the popcorn! I’m surprised that they haven’t done it to her already, for abandoning a muslim for Tim Mynette, who I guess hasn’t converted

      • It may be that they were just waiting for her to make a big move and make it easier for them to carry out their self-improvement, but this was over the top for them and they are no longer sure that she is mozlum as she “pretends.” Of course, we know she isn’t pretending, but she’s not towing the official line, either. this latest move is not seen as furthering the cause and goals they expect from her like other things she has done.

        It will be interesting to see what develops.

  7. Here is something I thought was interesting. Last year all through the month of June I would receive notifications on my YouTube home page about various events concerning Gay Pride month. This month the notifications started again on June 1. However, this time on June 2 I decided to make use of the feedback button and I sent YouTube a message telling them in a very polite manner that I was not interested in celebrating Gay Pride month and I would appreciate not being sent any more reminders about Gay Pride month. So far, unlike last year, I have not received any further reminders. I did not expect to see such a result. Maybe the Gay Pride mania has finally reached its peak and is now on the decline. I know I have certainly had enough of it.

    • Good for you, I would not have liked getting them either. And I saw where some of the Tampa Bay Rays have taken the so-called “pride” stuff off of their uniforms rather than promote something with which they disagree.

      The article said the management was not surprised or doing anything against them for declining to “celebrate.”

      • Yes, pride is not really something to celebrate any more than envy, gluttony, greed, sloth, anger or lust are. As for a person being gay, I really don’t care. Love is a personal matter – and if we are talking about sex without love then we are talking about lust … and lust is not love so keep me out of it. I am just going to celebrate June as National Dairy Month and have myself some butter pecan ice cream – and try not to give in to gluttony. (Too bad for the folks who are lactose intolerant.)

        • If they really must indulge, there are pills they can take just before having the dairy products.

          I don’t take part in most “celebrations” as I am more of an individual and not a joiner.
          and, I don’t ever wish to know what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms where those other kinds…not eating ice cream, etc….of things take place. It’s none of my business unless they are victimizing children.

          And they shouldn’t expect me to be glad for them or accepting of the behavior.

    If Islam gains the upper hand, that will be the end of the Left. Just look at Iran–the Communist Tudeh Party supported the Mullahs and ousting the Shah. As soon as the Ayatollahs consolidated their power, they savagery liquidated the Communists. Not pretty.

    Ilhan Omar may be forwarding the Islamic agenda, but any Muslimah who openly speaks and appears in public–even in a Hijab–is bound to run afoul of her most pious coreligionists.

    • It appears the stylish hijabs were simply props to turn any legitimate criticisms of Omar into “Islamophobia”. She blew that cover with one tweet.

      Now she really needs to look over her shoulder…for Muslims. Karma isn’t a woman.

    • Just imagine a new brand of unisex hijabs in gay pride colors, and LBGTQI+ Imams facilitating and celebrating, at a fee, same sex neo-Islamic marriages, by the month, week, day, night, or even by hour.

      Only problem is for Allah to decide exactly which faces he wants covered, not for the sake of modesty, but simply because he no longer bears their sight.

    Therefore, it is understandable that she is attacked by other believers in this the most important faith of self righteousness.

    But how much do these other Muslims know?

    According to this statement she should fear not only Allah her creator but also Allah’s messenger Mohammad, who is long dead by poisoning!

    By asking her to fear Muhammad as she should rightly fear Allah, has the writer not committed the worst of all sins in Islam, namely Shirk?
