The audacity of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was implicitly encouraged by none other than Joe Biden. Already, as of April, the American Southwest border was seeing a whopping 6000-8000 illegals enter the U.S. every day, and that number was projected to double after the announcement of the end of the CDC Emergency Title 42 expulsion authority.
But then at the end of April, Federal Court Judge Robert R. Summerhays granted a temporary restraining order that was deemed “likely to prevent Biden from ending Title 42 while the case makes its way through federal court.” Nonetheless, a month later, thousands of migrants “tired of waiting” for Title 42’s end, illegally surged across the Mexican border into Texas.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador has been watching, as has every world leader. They know Biden is a walkover and a globalist. López Obrador was virtually invited by Biden to suggest a continental superstate in which only one side really benefits: Mexico. He talks about the benefits to America and Canada, but the deplorable state of Mexico and the refugee exodus speaks loud enough for itself.
The well-being of Americans is Biden’s last priority and López Obrador knows it.

Mexico’s president is reviving calls for a continental superstate that would combine North American employers and South American employees – and sideline tens of millions of middle-class Americans.
“I will go in July to visit [President Joe Biden] at the White House and I want to discuss with him the issue of the integration of all America,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said at a press conference in Mexico’s presidential palace. He continued: “My position is that, just as how the European community was created … we have to do that in America.”
However, any unification could only come after the United States and southern countries resolve their disagreements, he said: “There has to be a change in the policy, an end to confrontation, an end to hate, an end to threats, the blockades, the foreign interference, and choose brotherhood, good neighbor policies.”
The same continent-wide superstate was pushed in 2001 by President G.W. Bush and Mexico’s then-president, Vicente Fox. Their unpopular “Any Willing Worker” plan would have allowed U.S. employers to easily import low-wage employees from central and south America. It was derailed following the 9/11 attack.
The policy would spike Wall Street and Fortune 500 profits by giving them floods of cheap foreign workers plus many new foreign consumers.
López Obrador’s statement cane during a long complaint about U.S. politics, and the supposed power of the anti-Latino Cuban voters in the United States:
I have a very good relationship with President Biden, he is a good man. In this case, I feel that there are a lot of pressures on the part of the Republicans and above all from some leaders of the Republican Party and also in the Democrat Party that has to do with the Cuban community in Florida and in the United States.
…
Of course, the most inhuman, anti-immigrant, authoritarian [politicians] are the Republicans. But there are also those in the Democratic Party too … [For example, Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J.] he is from the Cuban community — and this one has enormous influence.
But if we stay [divided] like this, depending on the decision of one gentleman, of the influence of one gentleman, of the rancors of one gentleman, and we forget our peoples, well then, we are acting in a sectarian way, trafficking the pain of the peoples. Taking advantage of, thriving, taking advantage of politically and economically
López Obrador’s push is tied to long-standing dreams by South American elites for their own southern-hemisphere superstate. The idea was pushed by Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) in the early 1800s but failed because of the distance and diversity of South America.
López Obrador continued:
Why not bring to [reality] the dream of Bolivar, including the United States and Canada? It is good for us based on our cultural relations, our friendship, but also because of economic and commercial relations. … We [
López Obrador and Biden] will talk about that. I also want to talk about Central America because it is not possible that we do not tend to the causes and [the U.S. tries] to resolve everything with coercive measures regarding immigration. And other issues that we could continue to work on together in the economic integration regarding our sovereignties, the ability to complement each other to face inflation.
“Not anymore, we will not remain silent anymore in the face of insults to immigrants and Mexicans. And I will insist on immigration reform,” he said.
He blamed the GOP — and its anti-migration wing — for the political barriers to greater unification between the United States and southern and central America:
I am talking now about the attitude of the Republican Party, who surely will drive with their spokesmen that the [this week’s] Summit [of the Americas] was a failure. Well, yes, it is possible it will be a failure, but they are the responsible ones for maintaining a policy of closure and not openness….

If Mexicans and other people from South of The Border are all such hard workers then how come their countries are so poor?.
So what the President of Old Mexico wants is for his poor country to join a rich county so that his country can become rich as well, though thats not how it works amigo.
The EU was formed by countries that had a similar economic level though Italy or Greece were much poorer than Sweden and UK, but that they all have similar values economically wise.
Mexico is poor because of their very own economic values, America is rich because people worked for it to be that way, and now that so many American Companies have moved down to Mexico and still Mexico is still poor…Go figure…

Biden should take Lopez Obrador at his word and simply annex Mexico. How’s that for open borders? Our new southern border would be about ten percent of its current size and be easier to defend. Americans could move south and take over lands the Mexicans will not work. Carve up Mexico into five or six states.

Yes, but how will these new states vote? Will they tend to vote Republican or vote mostly for the Democrats? Ten or twelve new Senators and scores of new Representatives will have a drastic effect on the type of laws that get passed. But it would be interesting to see if the Mexicans would support open borders when the masses of migrants from farther south want to stay on Mexican lands and the Mexicans are told they have to keep them and care for them. I also wonder if the Mexicans would agree to teaching their children to speak English as their first language or if they would support abortion as a woman’s right or if they would welcome the demotion of the Mexican flag to being flown at a level lower than the U.S. flag or maybe even lower that the LGBTQ+etc. flag. Will they want to have their kids indoctrinated into the joys of homosexuality and sexual … ummm … fluidity?….???

Statehood won’t happen right away. That means no new senators and only a non-voting representative in the House. Just as the states in the US have different outlooks, it’s probably true that not all Mexicans think alike. In such a large country, there are surely different communities with differing viewpoints.
We cannot be the doormat tor Mexico or the rest of the world. Let them make a choice. You can join us legally or you can go away. If you won’t come here legally, you have no place in the US. You weren’t invited to come here and you didn’t show us the courtesy of knocking on our door.. If you keep on invading the US, we are going to have to respond in kind. The choice is yours, AMLO.

Yes, and it’s interesting that Biden and the Democrats are increasingly losing support among Hispanic voters. Mexico is largely Catholic too and many of them may not be in favor of abortion or the LGBTQ+etc agenda. A big concern for me is how willing will Mexicans be to speak English before Spanish. I think one the greatest unifying forces for any country is a common language. But other than that, I think allowing Mexico to become a part of the U.S. might not be all that bad an idea. I agree it would have to done very slowly though.

That President of Mexico might really in calling for open borders only wants to encourage “the surplus useless population ” and criminal gangs to leave his country . In other words ,he might just be wanted to dump the “riff raff” into the United States.
Be that his specific intentions or not his call for “open borders” is a call for America.

On a specific historical note, America’s 11th President, the quite astute, James K. Polk (who had a double major in mathematics and ancient Greek and Latin at the University of North Carolina in order to train his mind—and a very impressive mind it was), wanted, once the Mexican War of 1846-1848 began, to take over all of Mexico.
But anti-slavery interests in the North prevented this in Congress (including the young Abraham Lincoln), fearing many additional slave states (an understandable objection to be sure and just one more illustration of how slavery impeded, and did not advance, the USA). In any case, after Nicholas Trist, Polk’s representative to Mexico, decided on his own to ignore this final inclination by Polk by way of the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (February 2nd, 1848), and which ended the Mexican War, Polk, though angry with Trist, acceded to “only” the vast northwest of Mexico being ceded to America, i.e., the entire southwest of America, including California (Alta California) and the rest of what makes up this area of the USA (e.g., Arizona, New Mexico, and other states like Utah and Nevada).
But, damn, what a shame that President Polk’s ultimate intention was not realized. If it had been, all of what is now Mexico would have become part of America, at a time when it was little populated, and with an additional ten states or so, flooded with Italian, Irish, German, Polish, etc. immigrants in the late 19th century and beyond and now with suburbs of Mexico City with names like New Pittsburgh and Smithville.
Ah, one can dream and who can convincingly deny that all of what is now Mexico would be far better off as the southern most part of America? And no real border problem either. A great opportunity lost, like Augustus not extending the Roman Empire up to the Baltic after the defeat in the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD—and which would have changed Western history henceforth tremendously.

The issue w/ Latin America is that Spain was a majorly hierarchically segregated society, and that’s what they left from Tijuana to Tierra del Fuego. That’s the reason that while we read and hear about illegal immigration from Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua, we don’t read about people coming in from Belize, which lies within the same region. On the contrary, Belize was where John McAfee had gone to live before he got into that murder incident and had to flee back to the US
The US, otoh, broke away from the British hierarchical system and carved its own way, and over the last 100 years or so, made great strides. It’s not obvious that had President Polk’s plan succeeded, that it could still have happened, since Americans would have then had to re-make Mexican society in our own image.

Mexico, Infidel, in the late 1840’s was little populated—and most there were of Indian or mestizo decent. Millions upon millions of Europeans from all different nationalities coming into said area over half a century or more, something that surely did not occur with Puerto Rico circa 1900, would have utterly diffused the “native” population.

I doubt that Obrador is really serious here–except for those demands for open borders, of course…
Unsurprisingly, Obrador is a leftist. During the Trump administration he tried to bring a lawsuit thought the UN against the US for daring to build a border wall, calling it a “violation of human rights and racial discrimination”.
To get a sense of how bad things are in Mexico now, one of his campaign slogans–no joke–was “scholarships, yes; contract killings, no”.
Oh, and his slogan for the terrible issue of narco-terror gangs? I kid you not, “hugs, not bullets”.

Frankly, I have no respect for Mexico as a polity. Why should I or anyone of sense and knowledge?
I do respect many Mexican folks, by the millions, but they have been betrayed regularly by their own governments for two centuries now, ever since the Viceroyalty of New Spain was done away with and which had numerous problems of its own passed on to the forever dysfunctional Mexico.
And yet now the current Mexican President seeks, effectively, to incorporate America. Talk about the ass leading the head, but which present “head” is arguably more dysfunctional, more of an ass, than the always dysfunctional Mexico.

Problem is that successive Mexican governments still regard the parts of US that they lost as Aztlan, and so they don’t discourage their citizens to move there, since they consider it a part of their own country. And a good part of Dems seem to be on the same page as them

Until 1938, Infidel, Mexican textbooks officially taught that what is now the southwestern portion of America, including California, was part of Mexico.
But unofficially this is still Mexican thinking overall and I for one am sick of Mexican thinking overall.
Again I assert that if in 1848 America had taken over all of Mexico—Polk’s ultimate wish—everyone would be better off by now. Who can argue that Mexico remaining Mexico has been a “better deal” living in said area, some three times the size of Texas, than being the southern most part of the USA? In brief, Mexico is a disgrace of a country and one knows this or should know it.

Even India was split, then came the next one in the UK 1997 and the UK was split, and then 2019 the Marxists wanted OPEN BORDERS and Critical Race Theory in UK schools to kill off England for ever and attack the best thing which ever came out of England: The British Empire.
So all the Anglosphere is now being invaded with Western Europe to destroy the free world political structure in these places, decolonization has been a catastrophe, we need to return to the Western Empires and to give all these people a European Government at source THAT is the only way to solve all this properly nothing else. I’ve had a “Suggestion” for a number of years now. Let us call it another “Modest Proposal”:
Note to one and all: It’s “Illegal Alien”, in law and in fact. (To paraphrase the most famous line from the movie “Treasure of the Sierra Madre”: “¿Passporta’s? ¡We don’ need no stinking passporta’s!”)
Anyway: “Don’t Worry, Bob’s Here!” That was the punch line from a rather memorable commercial for a temp agency from a few years ago. I took that line, applied it to illegal immigration and came up with the following tongue in cheek essay: “Don’t worry, B.O.B.’s here!” “B.O.B.” stands for “Bag limit? Or Bounty?” (If Bounty, “Dead or Alive?”) It went on from there. Unfortunately, it’s lost somewhere in the old, real old computer it was created on. You, however, I believe, get the idea. It’s even been suggested that we pay “Bounty Hunters” for capturing Illegals, however, the trouble with bounty hunters is, as I see it, at least twofold; a. the cartel’s and their coyotes would take it personally and put out contracts on the known bounty hunters; and/or, b. the cartel’s would become the bounty hunters and collect at least thrice on their human cargo. First to bring them in, second, to turn them in and then third, to await for the illegals to want to try to come back and pay them for their help again. And that, my friends, would be a vicious cycle indeed.
I’ve suggested that we fire up the nation’s “Mothball Fleets”, work out a suitable deal with say, Argentina’s Terra del Fuego, or Singapore, or maybe Somalia, to serve as debarkation point(s) and have their country of origin applies pay us a barrel of oil a day (or week, or month) for each and every day an illegal is here. These ships would be convoyed all the way with US Navy protection on training exercises in the area(s) involved. Another suggestion I’ve made over the years was to clear a twenty five to fifty mile wide swath along our southern border (If they complain, we’ll just put it on their side) – salt water to salt water – and turn this strip of land into a live fire, combat training range subject to continuous, unannounced live fire exercises. From small arms to howitzers, aerial bombardment to shore batteries, booby traps to bouncing betty’s. 24 hours a day, everyday of the year, there will be continual and unpredictable live fire exercises and armed patrols, aided by UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles) equipped with electro-optical/infrared sensors, with standing orders to interdict all attempts to go through, under, around or over this combat training ground and intercept all trespassers. Then, when convenient, remove them to a staging area to be subjected to a biometrical scan and entered into a national database, then unceremoniously taken to the furthest border crossing and either sent packing immediately, or sent to a FEMA Detention Camp and prepared for a sea voyage.
Oh, yes. It should be called the General “Black Jack” Pershing Military Reservation. Why? “In 1916 Pancho Villa and his Bandido’s raided the town of Columbus, New Mexico, and in response President Woodrow Wilson sent General John “Black Jack” Pershing into Mexico after him. Back then, American authorities at least did something when the border was violated.”
