We haven’t covered the Jan 6 committee circus much because there isn’t anything to cover.
Convening a committee, getting some airtime and then sending out fundraising emails is what congress members do in lieu of actually doing anything. Most conservatives have gotten wise to the scam, at least after a whole lot of committees that did nothing, but some liberals are still suckers for the “committee”.
Except it doesn’t matter. Don’t take it from me, take it from the chair.

Even though they knew that it wasn’t going to happen.
But, much like the Mueller circus, you’ve gotta maintain the illusion that you’re spending millions of dollars of taxpayer money on something more than a glorified campaign ad running in prime time without having to buy airtime.
The trouble is that no one really cares. The only people watching the ad already have a strong opinion on it one way or another. And apart from that, nothing.
When pressed on the matter and whether the committee had ruled out the possibility of referring criminal charges, particularly for former President Donald Trump, Thompson replied: “We don’t have authority.”
He’s being honest, some other committee members aren’t because that would diminish the fundraising and posturing options.

In congressional hearings and investigations, we normally see accused persons sitting side-by-side with their lawyers and answering questions from a bipartisan committee given the approval of BOTH PARTIES.
This is not the case here … it is a kangaroo court. BOTH PARTIES did not agree to the committee members … only ONE party agreed and the two Republicans on the committee are denounced by their party for selling out.
This is fake. Due process has not been followed. It’s actually a Stalinist-style show trial by a kangaroo court.

The Jan 6 Committee got a lot for the $8 million tax money it is spending, about 7 cents per taxpayer. The media happily spent much more, blanketing the nation with prime-time Democrat election-enhancing propaganda of an, “Insurrection”.
Will it change the election results in November? Every rehash has a weaker effect. Is anyone still buying emergency supplies because Russia might nuke the West over Ukraine? Energy dissipates.

Jan. 6 Hearings ( not trial) is a search for facts that explain and allowed the Capital to be overwhelmed. A presentation of facts should not disturb anyone except the guilty. On the other hand Exploitation would be if Democrats used the same tactics Trump did to prevent an Republican President Elect from assuming office.

We have a Veep who actually organized bail for arsonists and looter in the summer of 2020–while she was supposedly a public prosecutor. This is far more egregious. President Trump’s word to his supporters were to protest peacefully; not to storm the Capitol. While there are others I would have preferred to support for President in 2016 and 2020, are the Democrats entering this contest with clean hands? How many times have their client groups’ protests gotten out of hand? It seems we have people living in a glass house picking up stones.
But the most disturbing thing about the incident was that the Capitol mob acted in the name of that vast swathe of our population whose first political instinct is to trust the system. I would breathe a lot easier for the USA if at least a few Democrats would consider this and note that their Party is starting to act like the “fascists” whom they so eagerly denounce.
