They were facing 30 years in prison. They’ll get less than two. Surprised? Don’t be. If Mattis and Rahman had been standing at the Capitol on January 6, they would be facing much longer sentences. But they’re on the side of the elites. So the other justice system in America today comes into play.
“How the Left Learned To Stop Worrying and Love Domestic Terrorism,” Washington Free Beacon, June 7, 2022:
On the cusp of nonstop, around-the-clock (primetime!) coverage of the Jan. 6 committee hearings, a couple of domestic terrorists are actually getting their day in court, and it is informative to see how Merrick Garland’s Justice Department is handling their prosecution.
Recall Garland’s breathless declaration, during his confirmation hearings, that “150 years after the Department’s founding, battling extremist attacks on our democratic institutions also remains central to its mission.”
Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman were arrested in the “mostly peaceful” protests following George Floyd’s murder. The two lawyers handed out Molotov cocktails to the crowd, and Rahman tossed one into a police car before fleeing the scene in Mattis’s van. They reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in October 2020 that wiped out six of the seven charges against them. Those prosecutors, nonetheless, sought a maximum 10-year sentence and argued that the incident qualified for a so-called terrorism enhancement that would turbocharge sentencing—a determination with which the U.S. Probation Office concurred.
Ginning herself up to distribute explosives to the crowd, Rahman gave a video interview in which she declared, “This shit won’t ever stop until we fuckin’ take it all down,” adding that “the only way [the police] hear us is through violence.”
Then, Garland and the U.S. attorney for New York’s Eastern District, Breon Peace, who’s handling the prosecution, took office, and you won’t believe what happened next!
In mid-May, the same career DOJ prosecutors who argued for that 10-year sentence were back in court withdrawing their plea deal and entering a new one that allowed the defendants to cop to the lesser charge of conspiracy. It tosses out the terrorism enhancement entirely.
The new charge carries a five-year maximum sentence, but the prosecutors are urging the judge to go below that, asking for just 18 to 24 months on account of the “history and personal characteristics of the defendants” and the “aberrational nature of the defendants’ conduct.”…

Merrick Garland, present Attorney General, is not only a disgrace and should be impeached and removed from office, but he is actually a facilitator of breaking American law, for instance 18 USC Section 1507 and which makes it a crime to protest in front of an American justice’s home—and he has done NOTHING about this—and hence the occurrence in front of Bret Kavanaugh’s home with yet another Leftist loon (there are so many and seemingly ubiquitous) threatening death itself.
We are now run by idiots or worse, starting with Biden, who will not enforce laws when they find them “inconvenient,” as another example being the entire Biden Administration’s refusal to enforce border laws and which is now creating horrible situations on America’s southern border.
Please, PLEASE, to anyone still registered Democrat who has an ounce of sense and knowledge, leave this party. Staying in it in order to elect “moderate Democrats” is a cruel oxymoron and a fool’s errand.
The Democratic Party of America is now an enemy of America. Start from this premise and I guarantee you it will be found to be a valid premise. Enough already.

Agree. Garland is a disgrace to the bench. Surely, he understands the importance of preserving the integrity, independence and unbiased clarity of the court. Garland served as a circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 1997 to 2021.
He has betrayed his colleagues on the bench when he ought to have vehemently protected them with the sternness required.
Garland has guaranteed that future historians will call him a disgrace. He turned his back on the high ideals of the court … for what? For corrupt, idiot liar Biden?

If anyone is surprised by this, that one has not been paying attention. And it is a part of the fulfillment of this prophecy, one that Jesus Christ quoted.
Isaiah 5: 20 “Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.””
The “woe” part comes soon.

With great respect, somehistory, and as one who admires Christianity to such an extent that I wish every Muslim would become a devout Christian tomorrow, it is not necessary to quote Biblical scripture to realize that Western Leftism, Islam and traditional authoritarianism are all aberrations.
Indeed, Biblical scripture may very well add to all this, but one has to take into account that plenty of non-Christians, whether Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, non-religious Jews (who make up most of the Jewish population of Israel), agnostics, atheists, those from many minor religions, et al. can still conclude correctly about Islam without “benefit’ of Scripture.
It is imperative that we align as many of humankind as possible in the attempt to oppose what the malevolent Islamic faith intends for us all. I ask you kindly, how does your reference to Biblical passages elicit an alliance with Buddhists, Hindus, agnostics, et al.?
Be careful, my Christian friend, lest you harm a most important alliance. And even assuming you are correct about Christianity, the “game” must still be played in order to defeat Islam’s many nefarious objectives, which are carried out not only against Jews and Christians, but also against Hindus, Buddhists, et al.

Yes, Wellington,
I realize that many do not accept Christianity. There are more across the world that do not than that do.
I also believe with all my heart that many…many is such a feeble word at times…who do not call themselves Christians…or maybe, like you, are not *religious* at all…will benefit along with all who do identify with Christ.
This, in my belief, is that those who are living according to what is referred to as The Golden Rule. will reap goodness from what is coming just as much as I hope to. I do not discriminate against Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. I know that I cannot read the hears of people and as I have said many times, I am not the Judge of anyone. I don’t wish to be.
I’m sorry if some don’t like what I write. As I have written many times, no one has to read what I write, nor do they have to agree. My intent is just to share the “good news of something better.”
I read many comments with which I disagree, but I pass most of them by without responding.
I also skip over a large portion of comments because I know I already will disagree with what is written by certain persons and would rather just skip than read and …perhaps…be annoyed.
I realize that not many actually read the Bible. But, I also know that some Buddhists have the same idea about God that I have. One even stated that as a Buddhist, he didn’t ‘believe’ in God, but he also said, “If there is a God,” and then said things that I also believe. I have heard it from their own lips. Some Hindus have expressed to me personally their love for Jesus.
Now, my words are only meant for encouragement to all that we are not alone in this large fight against the evil forces that seem to outnumber us.
thank you for your kindness. I will certainly think upon what you have written. My hope remains that *all* who oppose evil and who wish only to be and do good, will live and prosper.

I agree with Wellington. This community is about exposing and combating the intellectual, moral, factual, scientific and textual errors of Islam that make it into an obscurantist death cult and backward 7th-century dysfunctional state.
Islam is fascism and supremacism. We should not be fascistic or supremacist while fighting Islam or we descend to the level of the jihadists which we denounce.
80% of the world is under attack from Islam. We have to find common ground to fight Islam or ISLAM WILL WIN through a proven strategy of divide and rule..

Awful–you can see the actual abuse at other sites. And at least one of these teachers is Muslim, wearing a Hijab.

The left are setting the ground rules for future trials and verdicts. If I’m on a jury I will take in to consideration a number of things I wouldn’t have considered in the past. Namely, was the accused justified? Did the accused have a good enough reason for doing what they did? Should I just let them off in the interest of justice fairness and inclusiveness? Do I consider them allies in my causes? Those things right there will make serving on a jury interesting and fun. Thanks for making my day lefty morons.

Biden DOJ asks judge to go easy on Leftist terrorists who threw Molotov cocktail into police car
…………..
Just appalling–but leftists are almost always soft on crime, *especially* against police.

Biden’s Leftists believe in effect: ‘It isn’t TERRORISM, when WE do it.’
However, this woman was a terrorist.

Garland is the chief of law enforcement and he refuses to enforce the laws.
He should be impeached for not enforcing the laws of the land.
OLD GUY says
Let’s see if you throw a BOMB into a car that the Department Of Justice agrees with your political reason for doing so, you get a softer punishment. On the other hand if the D.O.J. feels that your target opposes THEIR opinion they will throw the book at you. I guess that WHO the victim is now determines the CRIMINALS punishment rather than equal JUSTICE under the law. If the D.O.J. won’t protect the law enforcement officers on our streets who are they protecting?
