Order The Critical Qur’an here.
Biden administration counterterrorism “experts,” including the Biden himself, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI officials, have repeatedly insisted that “white supremacists” are the chief terrorism threat the nation faces today. The big hole in their claims, however, is the general absence of actual terrorist attacks and plots by “white supremacists,” with the singular exception of the Buffalo shooting, which took place long after they started claiming “white supremacy” was the biggest threat we face. Then when you realize that Biden himself smeared Kyle Rittenhouse as a “white supremacist” for defending himself from Antifa thugs, and that his sinister Attorney General Garland and his henchmen are trying to frame a crowd of Trump supporters at the Capitol on January 6 as both “white supremacists” and “insurrectionists,” it becomes clear that they can’t be trusted.
The greatest terror threat the nation faces today is actually the same one it has faced for twenty years now: the threat of Islamic jihad. But successive administrations in Washington, along with the establishment media, have been busy downplaying and obfuscating that threat for almost as long.
George W. Bush said it six days after 9/11: “Islam is peace.” It was bitterly ironic that he was standing with Abdurahman Alamoudi, who is now in prison for financing al-Qaeda, and Nihad Awad of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations, when he said it.
And ever since then, the U.S. government has ignored the ideological roots of the jihad terror threat. In this they also ignore the oldest adage of warfare: know your enemy.
Whether we like it or not, the jihad enemy constantly points to Islam, and its holy book, the Qur’an, to explain and justify what it is doing. We ignore or deny this at our own peril.
Reading the Qur’an, however, is not simply a matter of picking up the book and getting started.
I’ve been studying the Qur’an for well over thirty years now, and one of the first things I noticed way back when I first read it in the 1980s was that it was well-nigh impossible to find a translation that is written in clear English. Many even obscure, perhaps intentionally, the meaning of the book’s most significant passages.
That’s why I’ve written The Critical Qur’an. At last, it’s an honest translation of the Qur’an: where the Arabic says “jihad,” so does the English in this edition. And everything else that many on the Left would rather you didn’t know — that the Qur’an sanctions wife-beating, sex slavery, child marriage and much more — is made clear here.
It’s 560 pages of a clear English Qur’an, plus commentary explaining the mainstream understanding of the various passages in the Islamic world.
This is the one edition of the Qur’an in English that finally elucidates the jihadi mindset.
And it’s needed now more than ever, with our law enforcement and intelligence authorities more determined than ever to ignore the real threat. It’s all the more important that citizens be forewarned and prepared. That’s why every American should read The Critical Qur’an, and ponder its implications, so that we can all be more prepared to defend our freedom knowledgeably and resolutely.
Those who wish to take those freedoms away are more emboldened than ever. We need to be as well. And that starts with knowing exactly what we’re up against.

So true.
Dave Goodman says
Just received my copy yesterday, and am considering returning it. Any quote one might want to look up is in the form Sura number:verse number. In The Critical Qur’an, the header on the each righthand top page contains the Sura NAME 9n English and the page number. One would have to either have memorized the number of each Sura or go to the Contents page and find its number. That is absurd and I am certain will be corrected in future editions.
There is an index. This is a great addition. However, some important topics like “hell” are left out.
Dave Goodman says
When hours go by and a message exposing a potentially fatal flaw in your Quran (no Sura number on each page), one wonders if you plan to keep this information secret. I will return my copy and post this flaw on every website I can think of.

This claptrap from Dave Goodman is just ludicrous.
Firstly, it is likely that no one from Jihad Watch staff has seen this message in the scant two and a half hours it has been posted here. Why would he assume that they would?
Then, the idea that an issue with headers and the index–even if one accepts these as errors, and not just minor choices–constitute “fatal flaws” is simply absurd. This poster might actually try reading the book, but that is obviously not his intention here.
And there is nothing “secret” about the page headers and index–they are there for anyone to read, as is always the case.
Then, there is the idea that Robert Spencer should jump if an occasional poster comments is ridiculous. Never mind that these are obviously not serious and well intended criticisms, in any case.
Note that this poster has done this before, claiming that Jihad Watch prevented viewer comments on its Facebook page. This was of course false–Jihad Watch has the same mechanism as any other Facebook page re commenting.
Finally, the idea that if he didn’t hear back from Jihad Watch–presumably from Robert Spencer himself–in a couple of hours or else he was going to start posting condemnations of “The Critical Qur’an” on every website he can think of, all I can say is knock yourself out.
Send the book back, condemn Robert Spencer for not noticing your posts, heck–even scream “Allahu Akbar!” if that makes you feel better…

a good way to get someone….a lot of someone’s….to look at or read something is to criticize it everywhere. People are widely known to be curious creatures.

Good point, Somehistory! 🙂
And of course this book is already a huge bestseller–this was true *just on pre-orders alone*. Robert Spencer is a famous and well-respected figure–Dave Goodman here, not so much.
