Democrats have been adept at pretending to be the champion of the poor and disadvantaged, particularly among black communities. It hasn’t occurred to far too many among these communities, that empty words by Democrats and extraordinarily manipulative leaders that exist within their own communities are exploiting them for political and monetary gain, respectively.

African Americans are challenging Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders to earn their votes. Whoever wins the nomination will likely garner support from more than 85 percent of black voters, but African Americans still lack a mechanism to hold Democrats accountable once they are elected. Consequently, the outlook for blacks in the United States regarding housing, jobs, education, and criminal justice is little better today than when Kennedy helped get King out of jail in 1960.
That’s over half a century ago! And clearly, the Democrats have not been adequately “challenged.”
So what does the plight of the black community have to do with the Biden package to Ukraine? Yet again, the so-called party of the “poor” (especially poor blacks) shows up its fake platform and turns its back on domestic suffering.
America has a long tradition of aiding those in need but to what point? Senator Rand Paul hit the nail on the head:
My oath of office is the US constitution not to any foreign nation and no matter how sympathetic the cause, my oath of office is to the national security of the United States of America,” Paul said on the Senate floor last week. “We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the US economy.”
Trump’s branding to make America great again is starkly contrasted with Biden policies that have been steadily destroying America. It’s no secret that the Biden’s have benefited immensely from Ukraine nor is the big question mark answered on who is really benefiting, besides the most needy in Ukraine from American aid?
“Senate Advances Bill to Give Ukraine Billions in Aid During Inflation,” by Sean Moran, Breitbart, May 16, 2022:
The Senate voted on Monday to advance legislation that would provide $40 billion in aid to Ukraine, while Americans continue to suffer from food shortages and reel from inflation.
The Senate voted to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed on H.R. 7691, the Ukraine Supplemental Aid Package. The motion passed 81-11. This means that the Senate can begin debate on the Ukraine aid package.
The legislation would provide over $20 billion in military supplies and roughly $20 billion in humanitarian, economic, and other aid to Ukraine.
While Senate Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly voted to advance the legislation, many populist-leaning Republicans such as Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Rand Paul (R-KY) have opposed the legislation.
Sens. Paul, Hawley, Mike Crapo (R-ID), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Mike Braun (R-IN), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), John Boozman (R-AR), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) voted against the bill.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) have tried to quickly pass the bill through the Senate; however, Paul has demanded that the Senate pass an amendment to create a special inspector general to oversee how the Ukraine military aid is spent.

We should all be outraged at this lack of concern for defending the interests of voters.

It’s not so much about providing aid to Ukraine, it’s how much and who pays for it.
The EU recently announced that they are going to provide 500 million euro (526.68 million US dollar equivalent) military aid to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the US is likely to provide 40 BILLION, on top of the billions that we have already provided.
If my arithmetic is correct, this 40 billion represents approximately 76 times the amount that the EU has pledged.
Is that fair to the teetering US economy and its taxpayers?

OK. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine’s borders is an egregious violation of international law and of ethics overall. I support aid of all kinds to Ukraine, all the while I harbor no animosity to the average Russian soldier who has been cast into a malicious maelstrom of Putin’s making.
Hopefully, all this rot by Putin will bring him down and Russia will finally learn that its best interests lie with the West and not with China and the Islamic world. Putin is too stupid (yes, he is stupid and I stand by this) to realize this, and thus the immensely wasteful carnage he has waged upon literally millions of Ukrainians should stand as an indictment of him for all time.
Nevertheless, and in keeping with the “thrust” of this article at JW, I think it far more important that America protect its own borders more than any other borders, including Ukraine’s. Also, it is imperative we don’t tweak the Russian bear too much. Yes, Putin has made a huge miscalculation, but a post-Putin Russia, which hopefully will be soon, must not be too alienated from the West. A la Clausewitz, think ahead.
In the final analysis, better that Russia is with the West rather than against it. It is in the interest of both Russia and the West to conclude this.

Reply to Wellington: Putin is not a deep man, but a crafty and cagey one. His ideology is a grandiose view of Russia as the ‘Third Rome’. For whatever it’s worth, Putin is a lawyer who somehow passed examinations successfully. He is certainly aware, then, that he is violating many international laws and in particular, the Budapest agreement between Russia, Ukraine, the US and UK that establishes and guarantees Ukraine’s borders.

He has failed his country miserably and not just because of the monstrous Ukraine invasion. By now, he should have diversified Russia’s economy far more than he has (Russia still has an economy only the size of Italy even though it controls more natural resources than any other nation on the planet—what a waste and this can be laid at Putin’s feet, ditto for First Secretaries and Czars) and ensured a low level of corruption rather than an exceedingly high level of corruption, with him benefitting from such corruption rather than putting his country first.

In wars, they need bodies…like cannon fodder. so why not send schumer, mcconnel, cheney, etc. over there? schumer and mcconnel went to ukraine and promised the money, but didn’t stay to load up a rifle and go a hunting.

Young global leader Justine will not allow unvaccinated citizens to leave Canada, however any unvaccinated Ukrainians may come to Canada and are allowed to visit back home when they want, they will be able to come and go. The mailin guy needed his war, Schwab is ecstatic.
You all should tune into the upcoming Davos meeting. Pay close attention to what all the Hollywood brain surgeons, the young global politicians, drug companies heads, the wealthy elites have to say. The people who were voted in to represent America and Americans no longer represent we the people. They fancy themselves as global leaders first and put foreign needs at the top of the list. A list that America and Americans are not a part of.

Seems like it should be our Governments responsibility to take care of and protect our citizens FIRST. Charity and helping other people around the world should come from the American People and private organizations not the Government. It is literally insane to borrow 40 BILLION DOLLARS to give aid to a foreign country. How far in debt can we go before the whole economy fails?
