Pelosi: ‘You Have to Balance the Free Speech Issues’

Here’s an exciting conversation between Clinton apparatchik George Stephanopoulos and outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi which appears to be taking place in some alternate universe in which 9/11 never happened and we haven’t been fighting a war against terrorism for a generation.

“Did you ever think you would be Speaker of the House, when our greatest national security threat, according to so many analysts, is domestic terror?” Stephanopoulos asked.

Even in an ADD political culture where no one remembers anything that happened last week, this is a bit much.

Most Islamic terrorist attacks in the past decade have been classified as “domestic terror.”

Omar Mateen killed 49 people during the Pulse massacre. While he pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda and ISIS, the incident was classified as domestic terrorism.

Mateen, like an entire generation of Islamic terrorists, was born in America to immigrant parents.

“There has to be vigilance,” Pelosi, D-Calif., told ABC “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos. “People have to alert other authorities if they think that someone is on a path to domestic terrorism, to violence of any kind.”

Exciting new idea. Except that CAIR and the Islamist allies of the Democrats spent a generation insisting just the opposite.

Does Pelosi’s proposal apply to all terrorists, or does it exempt terrorists from her political faction?

“Obviously you have to balance the free speech issues,” Pelosi said. “Freedom is so important to us but that freedom also carries public safety with it and we have to balance that.”

So is Pelosi going to move to shut down Islamist incitement to commit acts of terrorism and the entire political wing of the Jihad which is by now deeply embedded among the Dems and starting to once again get its hooks into the GOP?

The California Democrat said her party in Congress is “of course trying to do something about gun violence” 

Might want to tell Chicago gang bangers that.

    • Politifact claims Pelosi doesn’t drink alcohol at all.

      Maybe she is just affected by oxygen starvation and radiation exposure on her many junket flights. Then, again, it might be the Russians doping her ice cream freezer or the chemicals in her face paint.

    For all the Dems yapping for years about Russia, Russia, Russia, they seem to have fogotten, in just two months, that Putin said he would consider the use of nuclear weapons against interlopers in the Ukraine War.

    The only thing missing in the picture above is Schumer holding a pitchfork. They are both antiquidated, holding on to a model that has repeatedly failed, yet they continue to hold out the false promises that have divided the nation.

    The US Constitution gives citizens equal rights and protection under the law. It does not provide equal economic and social status. Those must be earned.

    The Liberal demands are incompatible with the Constitution. They want equity regardless of personal effort, taking wealth from others to accomplish it, and the destruction of decency. Anything goes.

      • Thanks Wellington. I wish it wasn’t true. The America in which I grew up had standards of decency and more than one neighbor was instrumental in keeping us children behaved. There was a genuine sense of community and caring.

  5. “balancing free speech.” and who gets to do that? What scales are used? who gets to decide how much “freed speech” weighs and how much “public safety”?

    With the “hate speech” laws and the “hate crimes” laws, they have already put limits on the freedom to say how one feels about whatever another is doing, not doing, etc. The only people who get to do that now, are the witch’s bunch and mozlums, including and esp. i.elmi and her cosnake, r. tlaib.

    The rest of us have to be careful about what we say about what we may believe as it might infringe on the “rights” of those like the witch and her companion, the warlock.

    How many times have those warnings been ignored or disregarded by authorities and by doctors? Buffalo and Sandy Hook are just two examples. Both of the men who committed these acts were known to authorities and to their parents. The Buffalo shooter had threatened classmates, threatened to blow up his high school graduation and had decapitated a cat. There was no way for him to be committed to a psychiatric facility for evaluation? They held him less than two days. He was still able to legally purchase a gun.
    The mother of the Sandy Hook shooter was trying to get him committed but how many hoops did she have to jump through if he wouldn’t go voluntarily? He murdered her before going off to shoot up the school.

    Nancy Pelosi and her like- minded- political comrades of the far-left wing , are so very disingenuous and outright dishonest are so deliberately vague as to call Islamic terrorism “domestic terrorism”

    Other times they use the unclear terms to describe Muslims terrorism of the jihad as “radical extremism ” or just “extreming” or only “terrorism with being specific about the kind of terrorism it is. Other times they even call the horrendously murders committed by Muslim /jihadists as “man made disasters.”

    Pelosi along with others encouraging and some even action of the insidious sinister anti-American subversive movement known as the “Red/Green alliance”when they speak as as far away from plain talk
    and honesty in their choice of words as they can possibly be. Shame on them.

    Those leftists just refuse to come out and call things and people as they really are

    As let’s call a cat a “cat” and a dog and “dog” and a pig a “pig.” Likewise,,Let’s called a jihadist a “Muslim terrorist ” and jihad massacres “as Islamic terrorism” or “jihadist terrorism” and so forth.

    Recognizing the truth and speaking the truth in clear words and terms is best and shouldn’t be a difficult thing to do Nevertheless Pelosi and others of her same far-leftist ways and mindset will not come out and say this clear as they should.

    They are dishonest in their intentional vagueness not only terrible they are dishonest in their speech that they are also horrible .

    With the sole exception of preaching violence, no you don’t.

    And yes–it is notable how the meaning of domestic terrorism has shifted in the past few years, from Jihad terror from “homegrown” Jihadists to “white supremacy”, that save for the hideous shooting in Buffalo barely exists.

    And Pelosi has never said *anything* negative about CAIR telling Muslims not to cooperate with police against Jihad terror.

    • I saw a news report of a shooting on the interstate in Oakland, but nothing on the perp who did it. Wonder who they can blame for that?

      Sen. Ron Johnson, who has criticized what’s been going on at the border, has been accused by the adl I believe it was, of “subtly” …spreading replacement theory. He quoted what dems have said about changing demographics in order to increase their power, and …

      • No one has been arrested yet to my knowledge. I don’t know if this was random or a targeted hit. We’ve seen both here recently.

        Violence was *way* down in Oakland, and it had been generally going down for decades. But since the BLM riots and Covid lockdown and releases of hordes of prisoners–including violent ones–violent crime, including murders, have *skyrocketed* here. Very scary stuff. Mostly black gangs.

    • That’s one creepy couple in that picture. They look really angry. Perhaps I should alert the authorities.

      Just recently a chinese immigrant shot up a church in OC where a Taiwanese congregation was using the space for a reception. Not far from my old stomping grounds but in all those years and decades me or my friends never shot the place up.

      • Yes–the Church shooter believed that Taiwan has no right to freedom and so murdered Taiwanese in America. Sickening.

        • The lone fatality was Dr. John Cheng who heroically charged and tackled the shooter saving countless lives.

        • If Dr. Cheng had a gun he would probably be a live hero. That is an unfortunate necessity in the society that has been created for us by people that don’t care about us where we all have to live. Restricting law abiding citizens when it comes to guns leads to more killers feeling free to do what they want to do unimpeded.
