New in PJ Media:
The freedom of speech is under attack everywhere, and it’s not clear which side Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Trump-endorsed candidate for a Senate seat from Pennsylvania, is on. We have the Disinformation Governance Board, the Jan. 6 Committee, ongoing claims that Trump supporters are all “white supremacists” (and “white supremacists” are the nation’s biggest terror threat), and rampaging social media censorship. In that environment, it’s crucial for all candidates, especially America-First candidates, to affirm their support for free speech. Instead, Oz has just called for his primary opponent to be barred from the race, not for any criminal activity or, say, dual citizenship in a hostile nation (Oz is a Turkish citizen), but for something she said in 2015.
Oz has already criticized his principal opponent, Kathy Barnette, for “Islamophobia,” a made-up word designed to inhibit criticism of jihad violence and Sharia oppression, and one that is in common usage among Leftists but rarer among patriots. On Saturday, however, Oz went even farther, charging that Barnette should actually be banned from running for the Senate, and presumably for anything else, because she doesn’t have a sufficiently positive view of Islam.
Oz’s demand raises some interesting questions. On the Left, criticizing Christianity is generally seen as “courageous,” even “heroic,” as can be seen in the enduring popularity of Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, the late Christopher Hitchens, and the like. Criticizing Islam, on the other hand, is “hateful,” “bigoted,” and “racist” as far as Leftists are concerned. If Dawkins or Harris or some other critic of Christianity were to end up running for a Senate seat somewhere in the U.S., would Oz call for this candidate to be disqualified? Almost certainly not.
For criticizing Islam, however, Barnette has aroused Oz’s enduring ire. Apparently back in 2015 she tweeted “Pedophilia is a Cornerstone of Islam,” although she now claims that she “would never have said that.” That’s unfortunate, as she offered no explanation of how the remark appeared on her Twitter feed if she didn’t say it, and it demonstrates that she is allowing Oz to put her on the defensive and that she is unsure how to respond. She would be better off just owning the remark and defending it, as there is certainly ample justification in Islam for thinking this.
Turkey’s directorate of religious affairs (Diyanet) said in January 2018 that under Islamic law, girls as young as nine can marry. Ishaq Akintola, professor of Islamic Eschatology and Director of Muslim Rights Concern, Nigeria, said in 2016: “Islam has no age barrier in marriage and Muslims have no apology for those who refuse to accept this.” Dr. Abd Al-Hamid Al-‘Ubeidi, Iraqi expert on Islamic law, said in 2008: “There is no minimum marriage age for either men or women in Islamic law. The law in many countries permits girls to marry only from the age of 18. This is arbitrary legislation, not Islamic law.”

People are aloud to say what ever they want that does not bar them from running for public office. You could belong to the flat earth society or believe rocks and trees will point out where the Jews are hiding at the end of time (a true Islamic belief) and run for office Bad or unpopular beliefs or opinions do not bar anyone from running for public office defining “bad” opinions or” hate speech” or “violent speech” is always easy for the leftist or the Moslems it is anything they do not like or goes against their agenda even if is true.

FASCINATING, isn’t it, that a BLACK WOMAN is condemned for pointing out the RACISM in Islam.
Mohammed was one of the WHITEST PROPHETS in history! Mohammed owned MANY black slaves, whom he sold, traded and leased. That qualifies Mohammed as a WHITE SUPREMACIST and the early Muslims too.
Arabs who claim descent from their WHITE PROPHET are some of the most racist people on earth.
Early Islam declares that Mohammed was white and that anyone who says he was black WILL BE KILLED.
Here are hadiths that make the point:
Legs were white: Sahih Bukhari 4:56:767; Sahih Muslim 8:3325

Mohammed the WHITE PROPHET who owned Black Slaves
BLACK SLAVES OF MUHAMMAD
Sahih Muslim, Book 10, Number 3901:
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:
There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah’s Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) on migration; he (the Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah’s Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man).
It is just and commendable that Muhammad does insist on paying the owner, and that he (possibly even) frees this convert (though this is not mentioned), but what about those other two black slaves?
This hadith reports that Muhammad had two black slaves at his disposal to trade in for the other man. And presumably these two were Muhammad’s own property. If he had to buy them first before he could exchange them, why would he not just give the owner the value in money or whatever else he would have given the man he got the two from? Also, it seems that the black slaves were worth less than this non-black slave, so that is the reason for the 2:1 rate. We do know this from historical documents (cf. Bernhard Lewis) about slavery in Islamic history that white slaves got a much higher price than black slaves.

Thank you for an excellent, well supported post, mortimer!
My two cents on voting for Dr. Oz, or any Muslim running for office:
Remember, one can never trust a follower of Mohammad.
Yes, I am an Islamophobe too!
Will Dr. Oz, should he be elected, be sworn in on Jefferson’s Koran?
If Pennsylvanians do elect him, I hope they have not elected a man manipulating with smoke and mirrors from behind the curtain.
A puzzler:
Dr. Oz claims he is not now supportive of abortion. This seems to be in line with the teachings of the various “schools” of Islam. Abortion is not permissible.
However, I understand that some of these “schools” also teach that it is permissible for a parent, or even a grandparent, to kill their child in some circumstances. I don’t get it.

NOTE: It goes against FB Community Standards on hate speech if you state:
Muhammadanism has stated objectives of genocide for Jews until not even the bushes will hide them?
Muhammadanism murders pagans daily?
Muhammadanism dehumanizes women?
Muhammadanism made pedophilia its cornerstone?
So, there are only crickets chirp on Facebook. Should Muhammad’s bigotry against Africans be added to the above list?

Yes, she should “own” it and do what the “left” does and “double-down.” The woman spoke the Truth and should not apologize.
The mozlum…one quoted above, says the mozlum will “not apologize” …for this raping of baby girls… to those who ‘refuse to accept’ it.
Those who tell the truth, and say that mozlums have this fake “marriage’ thing where they take little girls, sometimes infants, and rape them daily…how often is anyone’s guess…and call it “marriage” so they can justify the daily rape, should remember: It is the Truth about mozlums and their “submission” campaign.
Never apologize for telling the Truth about the submission to demons that mozlums insist upon
Everyone involved in this senate race should be paying attention. Including all who intend to vote to place someone there.
Just as i. elmi has put in place an envoy to the world to make sure no one says any ‘phobia’ stuff, and r. tlaib is trying for a nakba resolution, oz will do the same for turkey and ‘phobia’ and mozlums everywhere if he gets to sit in the Senate and make law.
How many mozlums in government are too many? One, and there already many more than that.

Dr Oz should simply say that as a doctor, he thinks early pregnancy is bad for a girl’s health and that a girl should wait until her body is fully developed (after the age of 18) before considering pregnancy, and that he approves of all girls getting an education and not having that cut short by child marriage.
Though there are a LOT of child marriages and cousin marriage is Turkey, Dr. Oz doesn’t have to mention any country. Child marriage is illegal in the US.
In most states, the age for a female to marry with her parents’ consent is 16 and up. Oz should just say he doesn’t think that should be lowered.

As an American citizen with no other citizenship ,I think anyone who has dual citizenship should be ban from running for public office in America .Maybe that should be the law of the land you cannot have dual citizenship and represent American citizens ,you could have dual conflict of interests. You can retain your dual citizenship and vote and have all the other rights single citizenship Americans have ,just not hold a public elected office. If Oz renounces his Turkish citizenship then let him run, that is my opinion.

Has anyone ever asked the good Dr. if Islamic law would affect his governance were he to win the election?
Infidel says
He hasn’t been asked a freaking question about islam. The most that any opponent of his did in this department was Dave McCormack who raised the issue of his split loyalty to Turkey, which is problematic as well! Yet nobody has asked him where he stands on Erdogan and Turkey’s policies, be it threatening its neighbors like Armenia and Greece, backing ISIS in Syria, trying to drill in other country’s waters in the East Mediterranean, or the most recent – it’s opposition to Finland and Sweden entering NATO. (And no, Virginia, nobody expects Turkey to send troops to Finland to protect against a Russian invasion)
PRCS says
And he never will be, no doubt.
Infidel says
Dr Oz is the GOP’s Ilhan Omar. All PA voters here, please vote for (preferably) Kathy Barnette, or failing that, either Carla Sands or Jeff Bartos, but not Dr Oz or Dave McCormack
Infidel says
Disappointing night. Not only did Kathy Barnette go down, but even Dr Oz ended up tying w/ McCormack. Now we’ll have to wait for mail-in ballots and others
Roland says
Has Dr Oz been asked about the historicity of the Armenian genocide?
Keys says
Good question.
And, while we’re at it, let’s ask if he believes that the Holocaust by Hitler against the Jews really happened. Many Muslims do not believe it happened.
Infidel says
Bingo! And in addition to the questions that Roland and Keys both mentioned, where does Dr Oz stand on Azerbaijan’s land grab of Armenian territory w/ Turkish connivance? Or Turkey encouraging people to illegally cross into Greece? Or Turkey trying to drill for oil in Mediterranean waters belonging to other countries like Cyprus, Israel, Lebanon and Egypt? Or Turkey being the #1 backer of ISIS in both Iraq and Syria? Or Turkey persecuting the Kurds?
Or if we wanna be most current, where does Dr Oz stand on Turkey opposing the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO, coincidentally when Russia lifts its objections to the move?

That Muslim politician Os Mehmet Oz, who’s running candidate for the Republican Senate race actually said that another runner Kathy Barnett should be disqualified to be a candidate because she dislikes Islam.
What an absurd statement that Os declared. What gall his has, That is Islamic gall.
Furthermore , Barnette was right when she tweeted “There is nothing rational about Islam.”
For just to observe such things as the cruel vicious Islamic practice of FGM and the callous malicious brutal Muslim male action of “honor killing.” shows the truth of what she said.
Furthermore within Islam the horrible behavior of jihad suicide/homicide bombings which is done by Muslim males with the absurd and bizarre promise of Islam of a paradise with many virgins in it for the jihadist who had died fighting for the cause of Islam.
All because of blind and unquestioning faith that Islam is “one true religion.”
Benjamin Franklin was right on the mark when he had printed in his periodical POOR RICHARD’S ALMANAC “The see by faith is to shut the Eye of Reason.”
