The New York Times is not a news source. It is a foremost propaganda organ for the hard Left. And the hard Left has, for a variety of reasons, adopted Islam as its favored religion. Consequently, in the Times’ narrative, Pakistan always has precedence over India, even if history has to be inverted to make it so.

Factual accuracy and respect for truth are not among the strong suits of the American news daily, New York Times. For decades now, it has revelled in the art of peddling fake news, disseminating propaganda, and patronising countries it deemed deserving of civilising pontification, even to the extent of appearing prejudiced, arrogant and outright stupid.
But recently, it marked a new low in exerting its stupidity when it published a report saying India was partitioned from Pakistan.
In a recent article talking about the novel “Tomb of Sand”, a Hindi book written by Geetanjali Shree and translated by Daisy Rockwell that won the International Booker Prize, the New York Times misled its readers by publishing grossly inaccurate information about the partition of India.
While giving a brief about the plot of the novel, which is about an Indian woman’s sudden decision to visit Pakistan, a country carved out of undivided India on religious grounds, the NYT article twisted the facts and erroneously claimed that it was India that was partitioned from Pakistan and not the other way around.
For the western readers who are moderately aware of India’s partition, this blunder of gigantic proportions by the New York Times might just be an “unfortunate slip-up”, a trivial error that somehow passed the editorial scrutiny. But for Indians around the world, especially those who have lived through the horrors of the partition or have heard of the tragedy of India’s vivisection firsthand, the mistake is nothing short of an attempt to rewrite the history and pass the buck of the partition on India while giving a clean chit to Islamists responsible for the creation of Pakistan….
However, by claiming that India was divided from Pakistan, the New York Times is distorting history and whitewashing the Islamic extremism and religious bigotry of the Islamists and the Muslim League rulers who wreaked havoc in undivided India and brought about a bloodied partition of the country. More importantly, the NYT assertion pins the blame for the partition on India, denies its civilisational continuity, and describes it as a country that came into existence only in 1947.

Someone told me they had a family member and her husband who read the NYT’s religiously. He said they have not read a single book about Islam. They will nevertheless argue on end that the religion is no different than any other. Of course it does not help that the media spreads false information. Far too many look no further. So much for the information age!.
All I can say is God bless Robert Spencer and his supporters, and in this particular case, Jinit Jain.

Reply to Rubicon: I concur with the general truth of this anecdote with one of my own. A neighbor argued with me using the ‘I know a good Muslim’ argument. Namely, that because he met one Muslim with good manners and who did not appear to be a jihadic terrorist, that therefore, ALL Muslims were NOT jihadic terrorists. I pointed out the the SIRA is Mohammed’s official biography and that he is depicted APPROVINGLY in the SIRA as a caravan-robber and warlord.
Would my neighbor like to READ my copy of the SIRA??? Surely, he did not want to read it.
He was unwilling to change or modify the opinion he had informed without reading the PRIMARY ISLAMIC SOURCE TEXTS.
Merely reading the PRIMARY ISLAMIC TEXTS will inevitably change the opinion of people … so LEFTISTS avoid reading the Sira, hadiths and Koran.

I know a number of people (Democrats) who read the New York Times. Makes them feel “uptown”, “with-it”, and part of the “sophisticated intelligentsia”. And I have recently come to the conclusion that these readers really do not want to know the truth.
If I find a copy lying around a hotel lobby, I bring it home to line the cage of my daughter’s pet rabbit…

These new journalists have adopted advocacy and abandoned objectivity and the ‘adversarial attitude’ that a real journalist has. They have become cheerleaders for a political party and are similar to the Soviet propaganda writers at Pravda and Izvestia.

Just grotesque. India is ancient, Pakistan just dates to 1947. Moreover, it was Muslims who pushed for the break so that they could form the “land of the pure”.

Mortimer, the term India has been used since at least the 5th century BC, and was generally used in the West.
Hindustan was the Persian name for the subcontinent, and dates to about the same period. But Hindustan was never widely used in the West.

There are some pretty bad newspapers in India, but I would never say that this means that the US and India can never be allies. As two of the largest democracies, we have a great deal in common–more than what divides us.
The NYT is a terrible newspaper, but does not reflect how all Americans think.

All Muslims of India and Pakistan were non Islamists before attack of invaders and their ancestors were killed ,raped,looted by many Islamic invaders so they converted Muslims .Many Raja also accepted Islam because of fear, so they must realise that they were non Islamists, Although all is hundreds years old but Islam religion is also hundreds years old, so must understand how they were brought up in universe by Muslim invader’s xxxxxxxx
