One of the foremost sages of our troubled times, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Absolut), has given us a solution to the all-encompassing problem of white supremacy and white privilege in American society (and no, it doesn’t involve more vodka). Who are we, mere mortals, who cannot approach Pelosi’s levels of wisdom, piety, or blood alcohol content, to question? Ours is only to implement her commands. And so (how did you guess?), the freedom of speech has got to go.
In the wake of the shooting in Buffalo by a self-described member of the “authoritarian left,” Pelosi said, according to ABC News, “that social media companies have to address and track down extremism on their platforms.”
What a coincidence! Top Democrat leaders have been saying exactly the same thing, even before Buffalo. See, you didn’t think great minds really do think alike, but even before the shooting Barack recommended that the government adopt procedures for censoring speech based on “whether it strengthens or weakens the prospects for a healthy inclusive democracy,” by which he meant, as Leftists always do, “Leftist hegemony over the public square.” He neatly avoided troublesome Constitutional issues, or at least attempted to do so, by insisting that they simply weren’t in play at all: “The First Amendment,” he declared, “is a check on the power of the state. It doesn’t apply to private companies like Facebook and Twitter.”
Another heavy Democrat hitter, Hillary Clinton agreed — also before the Buffalo shooting. She tweeted on April 21, “For too long, tech platforms have amplified disinformation and extremism with no accountability. The EU is poised to do something about it. I urge our transatlantic allies to push the Digital Services Act across the finish line and bolster global democracy before it’s too late.”
And now, as the remedy to the white supremacism that afflicts us everywhere, with Bull Connor and George Wallace stalking the streets and slavery itself just around the corner, Pelosi says that what we really need are people who will rat out their neighbors in the service of the benign and gentle state: “There has to be vigilance. People have to alert other authorities if they think that someone is on a path to domestic terrorism, to violence of any kind.”
Aware that there might be hidebound naysayers who will not see the wisdom of turning America into an authoritarian police state in which only one point of view, that of the far Left, can lawfully be enunciated, Pelosi added: “Obviously you have to balance the free speech issues,” and “Freedom is so important to us, but that freedom also carries public safety with it and we have to balance that.”

“The fact of the matter is, if you disturb the peace by starting a riot in a movie theater, cops are going to arrest you and you might end up in jail or you might end up in something worse,” Cameron said.
“And that kind of stuff absolutely has to stop, whether it’s the antitrust bill to take down and deplatform people who lie and put out falsehoods that cause damage and violent, violent hate — there ought to be something done about it,” he continued.”

I was listening last evening to different news reports and, I can’t recall who said it, but the statement was about no one in the general population wanting war, but the “news media” lay out the propaganda, repeating it to the public… the government’s *reasons* for going to war. They convince the public that war is necessary.
This is going on with the Freedom to speak….media people are pushing what some in the government dearly want…to shut up anyone who tells the truth.
Tucker Carlson has played many clips of dem gov people speaking about what is being labeled ‘replacement theory’….replacing those who won’t vote dem with ‘immigrants’ who will. They said it, and he reported that they said it, but he is the one to blame for the guy in Buffalo who believed it.

That’s why I stopped watching FNC. The number of fakes on that channel became more evident over time – Carl Cameron, Melissa Francis, Sandra Smith, Jennifer Griffin,… not to mention the usual suspects like Chris Wallace, Neil Cavuto, Sheppard Smith and Bret Baier. I watch Newsmax these days – solely Rob Schmitt, and sometimes Eric Bolling, but on election days, I watch the extended coverage from 8pm

Speaking of Freedom, and focusing on a Catholic, the pope is making news again.
” Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his spiritual closeness to Catholics in China, voicing hope that the church there operates in “freedom and tranquility,’’ but making no mention of a 90-year-old cardinal who was recently arrested in Hong Kong.”
The priest “blasted” the pope in a previous year. Guess it’s payback for expressing his freedom to criticize.

Cardinal Joseph Zen *has* been critical of the Pope, but this *should not matter* in this case. He is a Catholic, a peaceful man, and *90-years-old*. The Pope *should* be coming out in support–and should in fact be working to get him freed, but his is not. Shameful.

The editorial board argued that by denying Pelosi Holy Communion, the archbishop wasn’t being loyal to Christ.
“Cordileone’s chief loyalty is not to Christ, but to the cabal of far-right American bishops led by Raymond Leo Burke, a Catholic prelate who has led a continual campaign to undermine Pope Francis’ authority,” they wrote, before demanding the Pope remove the “radical conservative” from San Francisco.”

I read that whoopi told the Cardinal that it “isn’t your job, dude,” to tell pelosi she can’t take communion. whoopi said it’s mixing “church and state.”

Crazy “Nancy” Pelosi, just remember she represents the people of California who keep re-electing her. WHY? Must be name recognition on the ballot. Who says advertising doesn’t work, keeping your name in the media, good or bad gives you name recognition. Crazy “NANCY” is good at staying in front of the camera.
