South Dakota locals expressed outrage during a school board meeting Tuesday over novels they deemed inappropriate and “pornographic” that were once slated to be taught in Rapid City Area Schools’ (RCAS) 12th-grade English.
For example, a graphic novel called “Fun Home” depicts nudity and sex acts, and “Girl, Woman, Other” follows the journey of women of various sexual and gender identities.
“The pictures in [‘Fun Home’] … are graphic and depict two women performing oral sex, images of masturbation and drug usage. I do apologize if there are children [present],” a local woman said. “There is a difference between teaching what sex is and teaching how to engage in it. And that’s what’s happening in this book.”…
Another speaker at the meeting said the books “have merit in our curriculum” because they highlight marginalized voices such as “Black and brown characters … [and the] LGBTQIA+ community.”
Florence Thomas, the president of South Dakota Parents Involved in Education, said, the overall picture was that of a “Marxist revolution.”
“It’s not this little issue. It’s not this little book or this little school or this little district. This is all going on all over. And these books are not here by accident,” she said. “Our education system has been taken over to a large extent from the federal level … and we need to start saying no at the local level. We’re not going to do this to our kids. We’re not going to do this to our community.”
Thomas, who is also a former school psychologist, continued, “Where’s all this coming from? … This is the Marxist global revolution – it’s the Cultural Revolution – and this is what is coming into our schools. It is Marxist propaganda. It’s designed to divide the kids from their parents, divide the kids from their country, divide the kids from their culture, and even in many cases, divide them from their very selves. So it is very dangerous.”

As I remember the old Soviet Union the government took the place of the husband and then it turned the women into men and the men turned to laziness and too much vodka. As a result the birthrate declined and now Russia has negative population growth. Much the same is happening in the U.S. Abortion, drugs, people not knowing what sex they are, all looking to the government to make their lives easier when all the while life is becoming harder but … thanks to illegal immigration into the U.S. they are being replaced by an entirely different group of people. The wheel goes round.

That’s what it is all about, Wellington and CogitoErgoSum. The regime that enacted this back to Year Zero and rebuilding the society, after slaughtering huge numbers of people, was Pol Pot in Cambodia. Luckily his murderous Marxist regime didn’t last all that long. There was a huge death toll and a society destroyed by the Marxist garbage. THis same push to destroy the normal family by the leftist wankers (with this transgender stuff, the critical race theory, etc) seems to be appearing in all our countries lately. I’m sure that there will be a fightback as the average type of person wakes up to what dangerous nonsense it is.

If you haven’t seen it, “The Killing Fields” is a 1984 British biographical drama film about the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia.
Very informative – but very difficult to watch.

I can vaguely remember that movie you mention. Probably not a movie I would watch. In recent years, if I watch movies at all, I tend to watch romantic comedies and that sort of thing. I used to watch heavier type films, but, in recent times, I lost interest in them. I recall the terrible things that happened in Cambodia (or Kampuchea) from the news. Being in Asia, our part of the world, I think it got quite a lot of attention in Australia. I also read a book ages ago titled “Before Kampuchea” by Milton Osborne, who, from memory, had been a diplomat in Cambodia and gave some insights into how the disaster there came about.

James, “The Killing Fields” is an important and very good film, but *not* for the faint of heart. Anyone who watches it should be aware that it is harrowing.
We have Cambodian neighbors who run a produce market who escaped the killing fields. They both lost their entire families. They met in a refugee camp in Thailand. Wonderful people; tragic history.

And in the Soviet Union birth control was almost impossible to come by, but abortions were free. A lot of women had multiple abortions. Whatever one’s view of abortion, using it as birth control is appalling.

One of the few times, gravenimage, I found myself in agreement with Bill Clinton was when he said back in 1992 that abortion should be legal but extremely rare.
Well, it’s legal all right but extremely pervasive and this is both stupid and immoral. And a bitter irony in all of this here in America is that black fetuses, as opposed to white fetuses, per capita, are terminated exponentially more, as Kayne West and other sensible blacks have noted. And yet black Americans continue to cling to the party that contends it is standing up for black rights (it is not) all the while it is the party which is ensuring a kind of black genocide. Sick and twisted stuff.

If you ever wondered why your teachers in school or – in particular – in college or at university were so radically left-wing you should look up KGB-defector Yuri Bezmenov. There are interivews with him from the mid-80s and they’re amazingly prophetic if you can use that word in this context. But he knew what he was talking about and clearly explains how we ever came to this point in time where we – the West – are becoming the Soviet Union while former Soviet vassals like Poland and Hungary are struggling to become what we used to be and seem to be going the other direction from us.
