It’s hard to see how Talgat Tadzhuddin could seriously think Russia’s incursion into Ukraine is a defensive war. Maybe he owes Putin a favor.

“Chief Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin: A Fatwa Has Been Issued Obligating Muslims to Fight Alongside Russia in Ukraine; This Is a Holy Jihad, Those Who Die Fighting Are Martyrs,” MEMRI, April 30, 2022:

Chief Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin, who has also served as the head of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate of Russia, said in an April 30, 2022 interview on Sky News Arabia (UAE) that it is a holy Jihad for Muslims to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, and that any Muslim who dies in this fighting is a martyr. He explained that the Spiritual Directorate has issued a fatwa on this subject, and gave examples of previous Russian victories over the Nazis and Western powers. In addition, he said that America was founded on the annihilation of the Indians and asked: “Does this have to repeat itself in Iraq, in Libya, in Syria, or in Afghanistan?”

  1. America was founded on the annihilation of the Indians? How in the world does that have anything to do with Russia invading Ukraine? I need to think about that one. It makes sense if I think of the Russians as the Europeans and the Ukrainians as Indians. So he’s saying he wants Muslims to help the Russians annihilate the Indians … I mean Ukrainians. Muslims would have definitely annihilated the Indians had they come to America first … just as they actually tried to do in … guess where: INDIA.

    • America wasn’t “founded on the annihilation” of anyone. It was founded because the founders wanted to escape the tyranny they and their fellow travelers had been subjected to in other lands.

      the Native Americans…called for the most part, by themselves, “The People.” fought among themselves before the Founders arrived. The White people and their companions were just another group to fight to keep them off what they considered “their land.”

      • Yeah, it’s dumb to say the U.S. was founded on annihilation of the American Indians, as if they were all part of one big nation that already existed. They were divided into 100’s of different tribes that were constantly trying to annihilate each other. To them the Europeans were just another tribe for them to annihilate for not being “people” as they were. No matter what the Europeans did, they were going to have problems with the natives eventually. If the Native Americans had had ships and guns and could have crossed the Atlantic before the Europeans they would have started killing Europeans to claim parts of Europe as their hunting grounds. And if the Muslims had come to America before the Europeans the Muslims would have started attacking the infidel tribes to make them accept Islam.

      The target is the Colonel to be replaced by a compliant puppet, thus gaining access to the vast oil and gas resources, plus rare earths of strategic value to the kleptomaniacs.

      If the Ukraine is reduced to rubble in the process, so be it. They couldn’t care less, just as they couldn’t care less in Afghanistan.

      When the globalists start talking about “regime change to make the world safe for democracy” then it means the pirates have set their eyes on the booty.

        Is this the claim that the West is to blame for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine because they should have realized that Russia considered Ukrainians to be their slaves in perpetuity? Sounds like it. *Ugh*.

I can understand how Tadzhuddin considers this war ‘defensive’ – it’s the same way that muslims consider any jihad war ‘defensive’ b’cos by not being muslims, we infidels are committing aggression against allah. But what’s hard here is how does Russia – which is not an Islamic republic, no matter how much Putin might brownnose the mullahs in his country – earn this loyalty from its ummah population?

    • One more thing I wonder – will Putin gift Crimea back to the Crimean Tatars once this war is over in return for this muslim loyalty? It will be hilarious if Putin stabs muslims in the back after using them in this war

      As to your question, though, Tadzhuddin obviously considers Putin good for Islam. He once said re Russian involvement in Syria “May Russia extend to Mecca”.

  3. That this chief Mufti of Russia is attempting to incite Muslims to join with the military of Vladimir Putin and fight and maybe even die fighting in Ukraine as “martyrs”

    Of this two things should be stated.

    First, if that Mufti really believes that is such violent and deadly action a grand and wonderful thing to do then he should practice what he preaches and go to Ukraine and die fighting. That he does not only shows that an insincere , cowardly disingenuous manipulating Islamic hypocrite he actually is.

    Second ,but not less important is that top Mufti is in some kind of power union with Putin is a insidious despicable Red /Green alliance will only ,in time ,m backfire on them and come down on both of them hard, As it’s written in the Bible “Though they join forces , the wicked will not go unpunished.”

    That both Putin *and* pious Muslims spout this should not surprise. For both, unprovoked aggression is “defensive”. *Ugh*.

    This isn’t the first time he has said something this insane about Ukraine. In April he blamed the Ukrainian leadership and “the Western world” for “trying to arrange a genocide [of the Russian people] and revive fascism”.

    Note Talgat Tadzhuddin’s reference to the large percentage of Muslims in the Russian army. There are no exact figures available, but general estimates–20-30%–are very disturbing. And Muslims regularly crow about this. Pakistan in 2008 was claiming that the Russian army would be Muslim-majority by 2020–an overstatement, certainly, but still a concern:

    This presents a *real* threat to Russia; Ukraine’s independence does not.

    • The bulk of Russia’s population is in the Central and NorthWestern federal districts, the ones w/ their headquarters in Moscow and St Petersburg. They’re not in the muslim areas of Russia, be it Chechnya, Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkiristan…

      In most countries, the composition of the military reflects the composition of the population. Muslims are some 7% of Russia’s population, at best! How does that reflect a trend of Russia’s military islamizing? If one wants to be concerned about countries islamizing, I’d worry about countries like Nigeria and even India, which has a combination of muslim immigration from Bangladesh plus uncontrolled population growth that’s spilling into places that were previously predominantly Hindu

      • Infidel, many have noted that there are increasing numbers of Muslim in the Russian army, I never said that most of central and northwestern Russia was Muslim.

    In addition ,the Bible does warn against taking seriously untrue religious stories , no matter how delightful and enticing such stories might be . As the Bible informs its reader against giving “heed to fables…” First Timothy 1:4.

    Furthermore the prediction of such false teachers, as those Muslim clerics, who brainwash young men with a religious story doctrine of such a sex-filled place in the afterlife.

    For the Bible had predicted “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine , but according to their own desires , because they have itching ears , they will heap to themselves teachers; and turn their ears away from the truth ,and be turned aside to fables.” Second Timothy 3,4.

    A Muslim who is a dedicated violent jihadist is ,no doubt sincere but wrong. So terribly wrong that immediately right after he dies in his jihad attack he will discover , the hard way , to his shock and horror that he was deceived by finding himself not in some kind of “Islamic paradise but trapped and in great suffering fires of hell. Luke 16:19-31.

    For the Bible reveals that a murderer “will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Also Revelations 21: 8 lists murders as those who shall not enter heaven.

    As for those Muslim clerics , the mufti’s mullahs and imams , they are false teachers and they will receive their own damnation along with those poor souls who are begilled by them and follow their teachings ,Second Peter 2:1.,2.

      Walter, Muslims believe that the Bible was “corrupted” by Jews and Christians, and originally said nothing to contradict the vile Qur’an. So Muslims believe that teachings from Jesus about loving your neighbor were falsified by Christians.

        The Jesus in the Koran is so corrupted from the Jesus of the New Testament that NO Christian should EVER invoke the Koran as any kind of confirmation or associability with Islam.

        Islam is a mortal enemy of Christianity, Judaism too, and this should be the starting point for all believing Christians and Jews. Otherwise, it’s a fool’s errand and an often dangerous one at that. Three Abrahamic faiths my butt—there are only two.

      • To Grevenimage, Yes you are right that Muslims do believe that the Bible had been corrupted , even though their their “Wonderful Prophet :, ” Muhammad never said that, if is really ever existed at all.

        It’s all very obvious that later when the many Muslim clerics discovered how very damaging the information in the Bible is to the teachings of the Qu ‘ran they made up that claim that”The Bible has been corrupted by Christians and Jews ” to explain alway the vast number of great number contradictions between the Bible and the Qu ‘ran. . S

        Therefore with the brainwashed Muslim way of thinking when a conflict is found between the Bible and the Qu ran that Muslims are mind programed to always believe that it’s the Bible that is in error not the Qu ran.

        One of the major flaws in that claim that “the Bible had been corrupted ” is that this claim is that such a statement greatly underestimated the Power of God to protect and thus honor His Word be keeping it intact and free from the corruption of men
