Does Old Joe Biden, having destroyed the American economy and severely threatened national security by essentially erasing the Southern border, want to get us into World War III, or is he just an elderly man in the throes of dementia who shouldn’t be running around loose with the international media hanging on his every word, saying things that could provoke a global crisis? Maybe it’s both. First, he told U.S. troops in Poland what they’d see when they got to Ukraine (the White House had to walk that one back), and now he has pledged that if China invades Taiwan, the U.S. will intervene militarily. Apparently, if Joe gets his way, America will soon be at war with both Russia and China. Hey, the adults are back in charge!
The Associated Press reported Monday morning that Biden said “that the U.S. would intervene militarily if China were to invade Taiwan, saying the burden to protect Taiwan is ‘even stronger’ after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It was one of the most forceful presidential statements in support of self-governing [Taiwan] in decades.” Well, yes, you could call it “forceful.” You could also, in light of our woke and distracted military, call it “foolish, ill-considered, wrongheaded and dangerous.”
This is not to say that Taiwan should simply be handed over to China. The problem here is that Old Joe has now, amid the fog of his semi-comprehension, made a commitment to Taiwan that the U.S. has not made in the past, and major policy shifts of this kind shouldn’t be done off-the-cuff by addled figureheads pretending to be president at press conferences.
As if referring to the actions of a recalcitrant third-grader, Biden said a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would “just not be appropriate,” and asserted that such an invasion would “dislocate the entire region and be another action similar to what happened in Ukraine.” He said that it was his “expectation” that China would not invade, but added that whether or not it did “depends upon just how strong the world makes clear that that kind of action is going to result in long-term disapprobation by the rest of the community.”
This is a president whose catastrophic bungling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan projected weakness before the world that has clearly led Russia and now possibly China as well to take advantage. And he’s talking about projecting strength? The man doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

What Biden says means nothing for he keep his word ,for he a liar and he has no honor.
Especially in this specific case , for Biden has already accepted so many bribes from Communist China and he’s so deep into that, of bribe taking this corruption , of bribe taking, from Red China that the rulers of mainland China those Communist tyrants have so much on him that that he doesn’t want the American people to discover that Biden will be totally useless to aid Taiwan if or when Communist China attacks and invades that Island nation.
In addition , Biden’s bribe taking scandal there’s other information that Biden doesn’t want be become known to the American public ,as in how Communist China along with Iran and Venezuela aid Biden in that 2020 November nation election fraud and hoax.
For Joe Biden grealy fears that it could become in America nationwide known he’s not a real, genuine US President..
Therefore the Communist heads of Red China really have nothing to worry about concerning Biden having America keep her commitment to defend Taiwan if Mainland China launches an invasion.

Actually those Communist tyrants of mainland China .really have nothing to become angry at about that statement by Joe Biden.
The reason why this is so is because Biden is all talk . He speaks empty meaningless words and makes false promises with lying words.
Those words Biden said about keeping “the commitment we made” have no value or worth , he is a liar.

Especially in this situation ,with him being a socialist and with his Marxist VP Kamala Harris to influence him , for she is the stronger personality of the Biden/Harris administration, there is no way Biden would keep America’s commitment to defend Taiwan in any way if Red China invades that nation.

It is a huge statement to make. If the USA and China ever do go to war with one another it would surely be complete destruction of both countries. That’s why i believe that China, which is going to kick all the countries in Asia, including Australia, around and bully them, is never going to take on the USA. I guess that Biden’s statement might discourage this repulsive Chinese regime from invading Taiwan, but I can’t see any way in the world that the USA will get involved militarily if China does take over Taiwan. The consequences might be too horrendous.

Yes, Tim–although having a China so emboldened that they seize Taiwan would also be dangerous.
I actually think that China is *less* likely to invade Taiwan now that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has not proven the walk in the park that Putin thought it would be.
China seems to have walked its saber-rattling over islands disputed with Japan back. Turkey and Iran have generally been quieter, too. Standing up to bullies is not always a bad thing.

Yes, I think that is probably right, gravenimage. Standing up to bullies is s good thing. I think that Biden had to make a strong statement, although I think that there is no way the USA or other countries would get involved in a military sense to save Taiwan. It’s hard to know when this Chinese regime might move on Taiwan. I have heard a couple of commentators here in Australia say that Xi is getting fairly old and he wants to take over taiwan as a part of his achievements, his place in history and all that. Who knows if that’s true. I think China is going to prove unstoppable in our part of the world. It is unfortunate. I wouldn’t want to have lived in any other country but Australia, mainly for the pleasant climate (I love the sunshine despite the skin cancers I and many other Australians are now getting) and fairly pleasant lifestyle, but I often say to people here that, if I was young, I’d be very worried about life in Australia 20 or so years from now, and they all agree, because of China’s bullying nature. Because I’m old, I won’t be going anywhere, but younger people might want to look at moving to other countries. Whatever problems the USA has, I’m sure that China will never take on the USA. I don’t think China would make such a mess of things if they invaded Taiwan as Russia has in Ukraine. I think that a huge number of the Russians don’t want to be there. I suspect the Chinese troops would be different. Of course, all that western military hardware has helped the brave Ukrainians to put up such a strong fight.

I hope we don’t see China threatening Taiwan and Australia–but they are definitely worth keeping an eye on at the least.

Like you, I hope not, gravenimage. I’m sure that China will make a move on taiwan because they would see it as part of China. In the case of Australia, we live on a huge land mass, but our population is only 25 million, so China could probably take this country over in a couple of weeks if they do decide to do so. They dominate Australia anyway in an economic sense because our wealth depends on our huge sales of iron ore and coal and other goods to China and its massive economy. I am certain that this stinking regime in China will bully all the countries out in our part of the world.

Well, it may appear that the US has no skin in the Taiwan game especially with China threatening nukes. We have nukes, too. And even Jinping is not dumb enough to consider a world without China and its CCP and the US is a win. Certainly if we have no skin in the Taiwan game we have no skin in the Israeli game, either. Wanna break the news to them?
We appeased Putin’s grabs repeatedly over the years. He finally took a big bite out of a country that caused some notice. Some people, me included, are asking “when does Putin stop? Surely not after Poland and the Balkans are his. Surely he must take East Germany back. Does he stop there? Maybe, just maybe, it is time to issue the stop notice both to Russia and to the really despicable people running the show in China’s CCP. We should kick them off their islands in the South China Sea as well as letting them know even tasting Taiwan will result in your sully military of Chinese only children who run to mommy when the going gets tough being reduced materially without bothering with nukes. Otherwise, are you planning to learn Mandarin? You live here on the West coast, too. We’ll surely be on China’s lunch menu. Various writings of Chinese generals suggest we already are.

Biden also said he believes in a only “one” China policy that means Taiwan according to communist China policy must join them giving up Taiwan, status as an independent country. .Biden is an empty suit nothing he says has any real meaning.
