In the Qur’an, a mysterious figure, known as Khidr in Islamic tradition, kills a boy in an apparently random and gratuitous attack. He then explains: “And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief. So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.” (18:80-81)
And according to Islamic law, “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (Reliance of the Traveller o1.1-2).
Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for Islamic honor murderers, who get off lightly now. Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.” In Iran, according to the New York Times, the legal system “treats parents who murder their children with relative leniency, as the maximum sentence for the crime is only ten years.”

An Adelaide court has heard a family accused of trying to kill a young Muslim woman in an “attempted honour killing” tried to track her down days earlier, breaking into a house and assaulting someone else in the process.
Five members of the woman’s family – including her father, mother, sister and brother — have been charged with the attempted murder and false imprisonment of the 21-year-old, who was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen several times with a large kitchen knife at the Sefton Plaza Shopping Centre car park in November.
The alleged victim suffered a perforated kidney, lacerated liver and significant internal bleeding….
“Over the course of a number of days, the family members of the victim became aware of her entering in a relationship with a man of a different faith,” Ms Costi told the court.
“In the lead-up to the attempted murder charge there was concerted efforts by different family members to locate her.”…
“The allegation is the victim was stabbed by her father with the other family members present … this applicant was holding the victim at the time she was stabbed and forced her into the car.”
The court heard members of the family then drove the alleged victim back to the family home, put her in the shower under running water and failed to seek any medical assistance….

The Muslim family is not family in the accepted sense of Western families, although some of the latter do not always measure up. It is an autocracy. in which the father is the mini Mohammad and believes he has the life and death of his wife and children in his hands, Often the wife is also a deputy in the regime.
This how any infringement of the Islamic rule book ie. the Quran, must be ruthlessly punished even to the point of death to save the honour if the family. To bring shame in the eyes of the Islamic community is the ultimate crime. Of course there are more enlightened and liberal Muslim families, who behave more in line with the standards of the country in which they are living.

Sometimes, as in this case, I only hear about these crimes on Jihad watch. I live on the east coast so often things that happen in Adelaide, far waway in South Australia, don’t get reported. Glad she survived. islam is a load of barbaric crap, that’s for sure. You never will hear of Buddhists or Christians carrying out evil barbaric acts like this one. Oh, the horror of it all. She has dared to fall in love with, or just get involved with, someone who is not a Muslim. This primitive garbage should have died out ages ago.

Any truth in that – will he be another Biden, who’s heavily compromised w/ China links? We had a good 4 nation alliance against China just 2 years ago: it’s abysmal that the only ones leading the pack now are Japan and India
Not to mention that Australia could be following the footsteps of Germany, and in UK, if Boris Johnson continues what he is doing, then UK could have a Labour government the next time around. Pretty depressing seeing the globalist Left take over more and more countries

Yes, Infidel, it was a pretty bad election result. Actually, both the major political parties, the Liberal party, who lost government, and the Labor party had their voter support reduced. And it was lunatics like the Greens and a bunch of far left climate change clowns, all very rich women, who were called independents, but are all in lockstep together in being all about ending coal mining, etc to “save the environment” who did very well. So Australians have drunk the KoolAid and we are going to have a hopeless bunch mismanaging the country. Labor, whose voter support was down, still will just barely be able to govern in their own right. That is good because it seemed like they might have to ask for the loony Greens to give them their support to get things done. On China, Labor will probably be softer. On Andrew Bolt’s program on Sky News last night he drew attention to the way China is buying up influence in various Pacific islands, such as the Solomon Islands, Fiji, et al, and could be on the way to cutting off Australia’s shipping routes. It could end up, in time, with China, the giant thug, encircling Australia, if they get enough influence in these Pacific Island type countries.. These pacific islands see a big chance to ask for money from both China and Australia and China has far more money to throw at them. I believe in democracy, but Australians, plenty brainwashed in the left wing bullshit, are as idiotic as most other countries these days. The next three years will be pretty hopeless. Then again, the Liberal Party is also full of fairly left wing “moderates” these days as well. Many commentators pointed out that, during the election campaigning, there wasn’t that much difference between to the two major parties. I often think that Japan must be very worried about China. I’m sure that this Chinese regime has a long memory and would want to hammer Japan for things that happened way back in WWII. I think China will be more and more dominant in our area of the world, which is a terrible prospect.

No worries, Infidel. Happy to give my take on it all. I think a lot of people, and commentators, are wondering the same thing that you mention. Will Australia ever have a reasonably tough conservative government again? More than likely not. As you mention, New Zealand does seem to be one of the most woke of all countries these days. It intrigues me how many left wingers have joined, or infiltrated, the Liberal party these days. Malcolm Turnbull became Prime Minister as a member of the Liberal party. But he was a left wing wanker and actually tried to join the Labor Party who wouldn’t have him. But the Liberals still let the scumbag into their party. The Liberal party is meant to be our conservative party, but it seems to have lots of left wing types. John Howard was a good Prime Minister, but he did say the Liberal party is a “broad church”. It is too broad these days and has too many clowns that belong in the Labor or Greens parties. Turnbull worked against the Liberal party in this recent election. Most people wonder why the hell the LIberals, very piss weak types, haven’t thrown Turnbull out of the party. They should have done so to the traitorous maggot ages ago.

Is the Liberal Party in Australia the equivalent of the Social Liberal Party in UK, or is it the equivalent of the Tories? In Canada, there is no Labour Party, just the Conservatives and Liberals, and the Conservatives there are as fake as the Tories in the UK

I probably can’t answer your question, Infidel, about the Liberal party and how it compares to the UK parties. Here in Australia, there have been the two fairly conservative parties, the Liberal party and the National Party, who are in a coalition. The National party is the party for farmers and rural areas. Then in recent times, there have been other parties, well Pauline Hanson’s conservative party, One Nation, goes back into the 1990s from memory, that are more conservative, probably out of discontentment with the wishy washy Liberal party. Mind you, there are some tough conservatives in the Liberal and National parties. Peter Dutton will be the new leader, after the election loss, and he is a pretty tough conservative. I admire his gutsiness. He is hated by many of the left wing people as some kind of an ogre. There have been other breakaways from the Liberals. A very conservative group, some of whom I like, set up a Liberal Democrats party in this recent election, but seem to have had no success. One of the main things that is happening, a bit like some European countries which seem to have many different parties which cobble together a government, is that Australia is becoming very divided and a bit chaotic. Seems typical of all western countries these days. Quite a few commentators have mentioned this lately out here. I think the USA seems very divided, and violently so, these days.
