Don’t worry about the new disinformation governance board.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday defended the department’s new disinformation board amid pushback from conservatives who say the effort is Orwellian.
“It works to ensure that the way in which we address threats, the connectivity between threats and acts of violence are addressed without infringing on free speech — protecting civil rights and civil liberties, the right of privacy,” Mayorkas told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”
That word salad sounds very reassuring indeed. Are you reassured?
But Mayorkas said on CNN on Sunday that while “we probably could have done a better job of communicating what it does and does not do,” the criticisms of the board “are precisely the opposite of what this small working group within the Department of Homeland Security will do.”
Really? Even the media couldn’t seem to get answers to what the disinformation board would be doing.
What will the board do? Where will the war be waged? Information on the Biden administration’s war on disinformation proved scarce. When the Associated Press asked DHS for an interview for details, the department stiffed them, according to the AP’s April 28 story. The next afternoon, a reporter asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki for more about the board at a presser, and she was pretty vacant, too. “I really haven’t dug into this exactly. I mean, we, of course, support this effort, but let me see if I can get more specifics.”
When your own boss’ top flack has no idea, that’s really saying something.
He clarified that the board is an internal working group that will gather best practices to address the disinformation threat from foreign state adversaries and cartels and “communicate those best practices to the operators.” He added that the board does not have operational authority and it will not monitor American citizens.
That might have been slightly more reassuring back before the Obama administration decided to treat American political opponents like foreign state adversaries.
Democrats have spent the last 8 years or so claiming that every narrative they don’t like is foreign state disinformation. Does Hunter Biden’s laptop ring a bell?
Americans rightly have no trust whatsoever in such a move.

Nina Jankowicz who is the head of the Biden regime’s new created “Disinformation Governance Board” which in reality is more the Orwellian totalitarian state’s “Ministry of truth” in the George Orwell classic novel “1984.”
The point being the sinister impostor “president” , Biden , with one of his top politically correct propagandist ,Jankowicz , ready and willing to disseminate lies under the disingenuous pretense of “truth speaking” . Even to the point of ,by gradualism, use governmental power to silence those who actually speak and publish genuine truth is unconstitutional tyrannical , despicable and outright wrong.
This is leading to a freedom catastrophe and the American people should not let that affront to liberty occur.
As George Washington has ,very wisely, declared “If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led like sheep to the slaughter.”

Ascertaining the truth in these deceitful times is more important than ever. We have a moral mandate to defend our democracy from Trojan horse trickery that pretends that other people’s opinions matter.
No environment is more productive in establishing the unvarnished truth than the three on one personal interview. A complete audiovisual record captures candid revelations whose veracity is established with a hand cranked telephone generator fitted with alligator clips.
The staff conducting the interview may require sound deadening head phones. The interviewees may require fresh undergarments.

Censorship is to critical thinking as genocide is to justice. If censorship is YOUR response to misinformation because you lack hard verifiable facts&compelling valid logic, then YOU are disinforming.

Agreed, John. Excepting only cases of libel, inaccurate information should be countered with accurate information providing proofs. If one cannot provide such proofs, then they may be the ones who are promoting disinformation.

Orwell’s book 1984 was written as a warning to society that it is very easy for governments to slip into tyranny by creating a dystopian society. Where the government alone determines every aspect of our lives.
Instead of seeing it as a warning the left and especially the Democratic Party appears to have adopted it as their playbook.
