Remember the VA waiting list scandals under Obama. They’re back under his veep. Or more accurately they never really left.
Biden decided to appoint Denis McDonough, an Obama aide, to head Veteran Affairs and things are going well.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough acknowledged that he is “frustrated” with inconsistency in how medical appointment wait time data is calculated and recorded within the department’s health care systems, and promised changes on the issue later this year.
During testimony before the House Appropriations Committee this week, McDonough said he is concerned about delivering accurate information on appointment timeliness to veterans as they seek to resume care that was deferred or canceled in recent years.
Yes, the waiting list scandal was never actually fixed. Or much of anything else.

the student demanded to be referred to as a female…he is a male pretending…and the professor, citing his Christian beliefs, and his first amendment rights, refused to call him his preferred pronoun. the professor has won a round for Christians and for free speech.
Now, if only the vets who are being mistreated by “bo” and biden, could sue them.

The VA is the largest Healthcare system in the country. It has the same issues as all others and performs no worse. You can cite an example daily of vets who claim they were treated improperly or had to wait too long or anything else that affects patients in general. VA has been my primary source of medical care since 1971 and I had my share of gripes. But they were ironed out and I am no worse on VA’s account. 25 years advocating for vets as a DAV NSO taught me that the VA, in general, plays by the rules.
More often than not when a vet complained that he/she was erroneously being denied healthcare or disability benefits, it was not true.
“The Department of Veterans Affairs said it will work to improve the social and economic determinants of health for LGBTQI+ veterans.” This doesn’t say resources are being diverted or otherwise compromised. It says the obvious, that it will work to improve care fore a particular veteran group. Times are tough enough without jumping on the ‘bash-the-VA’ bandwagon at the first indication all is not perfect.

To your point, I have several physician colleagues who currently worked for the VA. And “kudos” for your work as DAV NSO.
They are excellent, and I would trust them with my care.
That being said, the VA – like other large healthcare entities – has it’s fair share of bureaucratic “system related” problems.

Seeing how the USDoD is more concerned about promoting LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ than in war readiness, I’m sure Volodya Putin and Lao Xi are quaking in their Guccis.
