New in PJ Media:
Matthew Dowd worked on the George W. Bush campaign in 2004, but later decided that Bush wasn’t far enough to the Left for his tastes, so he became a Democrat. In 2021, he mounted a campaign for lieutenant governor of Texas, but it sputtered to a halt after only five weeks. Through it all, he has identified himself as a Christian, but on Wednesday on MSNBC, he demonstrated in front of a watching world (okay, in front of MSNBC’s tiny coterie of angry Leftist viewers) that he doesn’t have the vaguest idea of what Christianity is all about: “if Jesus were alive today,” he declared, he would be being called a woke socialist groomer. Sure, Dowd, and I’m the pope of Rome.
“If Jesus were alive today”? Dowd even referred in the same MSNBC appearance to “the message of the gospel of the Easter holidays,” which he said was “love one another.” That’s fine, as far as it goes, but there is another part of that message that he seems to have missed: Easter is when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead, and declare that he is, in fact, alive today. Is Dowd actually unaware of the central message of the foremost feast of Christianity? Sure, he was speaking imprecisely, meaning “If Jesus were walking around on earth today,” but his choice of words suggested a less-than-intimate familiarity with what Christianity actually teaches.
Dowd started out by actually saying something that was true: “We are in a culture war.” He then immediately departed from reality, adding: “This is a culture war launched by Republicans against the country and the Democrats.” But in a certain crazy sense, Dowd is right. It is Republicans, or at least some of them, who launched the culture war by daring to stand up and cry foul as Democrats sent drag queens into public libraries, celebrated gay lap dances in public high schools, told boys they could become girls and girls they could become boys, and put a “gender-fluid” devotee of “puppy play” in charge of nuclear waste disposal. If Republicans had all just aped Mitt Romney and sat back and accepted it all, there would be no culture war.
Dowd continued by claiming particular expertise regarding Christianity: “Something that I have tried to talk about, being a Christian and been an altar boy and all of that, how the faith is captured by the society who have tried to define it in a way that Jesus never defined it and actually the opposite.” All right. And how exactly has the society wrongly defined Christianity?

the level of stupid just astonishes me. First of all if Jesus comes back the left’s heads will explode the left would be out of blood

Agreeé Matthew Dowd”s stupidity should have been challenged by the interviewers who sat in stony silence.
Dowd would be shot down in seconds by any New Testament scholar. During the last two millenia many people have tried to harness Jesus to their personal political agenda.
Jesus said, ‘My kingdom (i.e. politics) is not of this world.’
Jesus was most certainly NOT a ‘groomer’. He denounced pedophilia in one of the strongest denunciations in the New Testament. Luke 7.2 – “It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
James Lincoln says
mortimer,
Typo, I think that you meant Luke 17.2.

Jesus returns the second time not to give us the means of salvation (his sinless life, atoning death, and resurrection) but to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus is a good person to recruit for “our team”. However, the issue is whether we are on his team or not. While it is unlikely that he Dems will ever have my vote, I pray that they and the Republicans both will repent and believe, and reconsider a lot of their actions and advocacies in the light of Gospel truth.

A biblically illiterate idiot

What they say about our people should be treated as name calling already. They dont try to make sense, or care about historical accuracy at all. Why continue to try to have A logical conversation with people who are obviously not having one with us? Just reply back that if carl marx was alive today, he would spit on the democratic party, and kiss A flag of Mcarthur. In G-d I trust.
Oren says
It almost sounds suspiciously intentional. How many ways can we be forced to talk within the parameters of leftism and stupid thoughts, to cover for the lack of intelligent conversation.

There is nothing in the scriptures to suggest Jesus ever talked to little children about sex. Yes, it’s true that He liked being around little children – but because of their innocence. Jesus told us that adults could learn from little children. He said in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven we should become like little children. He never said little children should become more like adults. This Texas Democrat has little understanding of Jesus. I would say that the message of Jesus to all of these so called social justice warriors is this: you do not have in mind the concerns of God but only the concerns of men. I say leave the little children alone and let them remain happy in their innocence as long as possible.

This kind of thing is a *weapon* against Christians and Christianity. Jesus said there is an “evil slave” who beats up on his fellow slaves.
This is an example. this lying fool, pretending to know Christ, pretending to be Chrisitan is spouting things to incite hatred of those who oppose the teaching of falsehoods….multiple genders, transgender, fluid gender, homosexuality as normal, etc….as Truth to little kids who won’t know the difference between truth and lies.
People such as this liar, bring in Christ in order to make the True Christian appear to be hateful, mean, lying, backward and stupid. it’s a weapon of words using our Lord Who would never do or say what the liars claim He would do, nor what they claim He did do.
Jesus Christ wanted to ***protect**** the children. He said to allow them to go to Him in order for them to get to know His love, His teaching, His concern for their everlasting welfare and told those who “stumble” the little children that it would be better for them if they “had a millstone tied around their necks and were thrown into the Sea.”
Jesus didn’t give even adults any explicit sex information. He said, “In the beginning, God created them, male and female.” He said that adultery and fornication is wrong, and that God brought into human marriage, “one man and one woman.” That is about the limit of the sex education Christ provided.
For this fool quoted above, he should read and ponder seriously what Jesus said in Matthew 7 to those who come to Him and claim that they spoke in His Name, performed powerful works in His Name, and expelled demons in His Name. His response is going to be, “I never knew you. Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
“Lawlessness” is being spread far and wide and is being promoted as something good….allow rioters to riot, burn and attack and kill; tell little kids that there are genders beyond the two and force them to hear it and do worksheets, etc. to get a good grade; allow child molesters and porn makers to walk free and to hear the ‘judge’ apologize to them for having to obey the laws….and so much more that people are doing that put them in a group to hear Jesus say, “Get away from me.”

The Calvinist have a concept of the visible and invisible Church. The visible Church is those they claim to be Christian and the invisible Church is those that are Christian. The two overlap. I have a pretty good idea which one Matthew Dowd is part of. He should take the time to read the Bible and learn what Jesus actually did and flagged. Jesus, when one reads the Bible is effectively a classic conservative who told me the inconvenient truths and encourages people to fix their lives. The “Woke Socialist” would be attacking Jesus and wanting to silence him since he would be calling out deviant behavior “Woke Socialist” engage in. But since when have those on the “Left” actually been honest about the agenda and views.

Matthew Dowd has condemned himself for being a “white male Christian”:
“Matthew Dowd once urged ‘White male Christians’ like himself to ‘step back,’ allow women, minorities to lead”
https://www.foxnews.com/media/matthew-dowd-once-called-for-white-male-christians-to-step-back-and-allow-others-to-lead
“Yes, let me repeat, we as [W]hite male Christians should do what real leadership demands and practice a level of humility which demonstrates strength by stepping back from the center of the room and begin to give up our seats at the table,” he immediately doubled down. “We should make this move not because we feel threatened, but because we know it is morally right and it is what would help America in this troubling time. The best leaders and change makers make themselves dispensable. And that is what me and my fellow white male Christians must do more often.”
This sounds like parody, but it is not.

Texas Democrat: ‘If Jesus Were Alive Today,’ He’d Be Called a Woke Socialist Groomer
…………..
What vicious tosh–most especially the claim that Jesus would be seen as a *groomer*–a sexual abuser of children–notice he doesn’t say based on what.
This is very similar to Muslim bs, where, for instance, Reza Aslan tried to characterize Jesus as a “Palestinian” terrorist. Just sick stuff.
Dowd has also rather illiterately said that “Republican’s goal is to establish a Christo-Fascist Dictatorship”. He does not back this up with anything.
