New in PJ Media:
Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez now the pope’s advisor on immigration? “It is true,” said Pope Francis Friday, “refugees are subdivided. There’s first class, second class, skin colour, [if] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed. We are racists, we are racists. And this is bad.” The claim that Western countries are racist in their approach to immigration is not original to the pontiff: AOC said it back in early March. But the key question, both then and now, is largely overlooked yet quite simple: is it true?
Interviewer Lorena Bianchetti asked the pope, “At this time, Your Holiness, I think of those fleeing: there are these images that show the flight of Ukrainian people who are forced to leave their land, their homes, their loved ones. It is one of the latest exoduses that we are probably, alas, becoming accustomed to. But in this case, there has been a real concrete response. Does this response, I ask you, do you think it means there are cracks in the walls of indifference, of prejudice toward those who flee from other parts of the world wounded by war, or will refugees continue to be subdivided into the category of being an annoyance?” It’s hard to fathom what indifference she could possibly have meant. Europe has welcomed refugees and migrants to the extent that one in four people in Germany now has a migrant background. Those are some mighty porous “walls of indifference.”
Instead of trying to talk some sense to Bianchetti, however, the pope demonstrated that he fully subscribed to the idea that the West’s response to mass migration has been colored, as it were, by prejudice. “It is true. Refugees are subdivided,” he replied. “There’s first class, second class, skin colour, [if] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed. We are racists, we are racists. And this is bad.” Yeah, sure. But really, can the pope name a single country in Europe or North America that has refused any migrants because of skin color? This is pure Leftist fantasy and propaganda, and it’s incredibly irresponsible for the pope to be retailing it.
Nor did Francis stop there. He went on to frame the refugees as Christ-like, so as to shame Christians into thinking that opposition to unvetted mass migration is somehow sinful. “The problem of the refugees,” the pope asserted, “is a problem that Jesus suffered, too, because he was a migrant and a refugee in Egypt when he was a child, to escape death. How many of them are suffering to escape death?” Good question.
There is more. Read the rest here.

He’s mostly insulting the West. And I don’t think he feels guilty–he just wants us to.

Riddle me this: the people that follow the religion of piss call us Europeans, racist, evil, fascist and more, and yet they ALL want to come to our countries while fleeing their own countries where they should be either fighting for or rebuilding their home lands and yet they still come, more and more, they bring nothing of value to us, they bring chaos, misery, violence, rape and yet even though leaders in the islamic mosques openly state just how evil they think, how anti Gay, anti female they are, so Im thinking they aint coming to join us in freedom but rather to invade and take over and once the Far Left Bleeding Heart uber Liberals learn than islam teaches the exact opposite of what any Liberal holds near and dear it will be too late… Off the Roof Top with you home boy…
Westman says
Immigration is either forced by oppression or elected.
Oppression migration seeks safety with intent to return if conditions improve. Refugee camps are an example. The current return of over a million Ukranians to their homeland is another.
Elected migration seeks gain in opportunity and improved income for a similar level of personal production. If that level of personal value production is low or non-existant, the receiving nation gains nothing and acquires an economic burden.
The West has many economic migrants who send earnings back to their “home” nations which bleeds the local economy and props up other governments. Illegals, who operate, “off the books”, also rob local, state, and national governments of taxes.
It is ironic to see the Pope crying for unlimited migration from a diminished Roman Empire that was ruined by uncontrolled migration. “All Roads Lead To Rome”, was its undoing. The only reality of capitalism this Pope seems to understand is that after a period there should be a big letter.
Every nation has the right to determine if a prospective immigrant brings value. No nation can afford the fully capable who want a free or subsidized life. The EU worries about Putin while their ethnicities are slowly dissolved.
It seems that very old leaders, secular(Biden) or religious(Pope Francis), diminish until their advice becomes the equivalent of recorded playback or teleprompter reading. It is often the message of the puppeteers behind them.
Today we celebrate, “The Greatest Story Ever Told.” Whether believer or Agnostic, it is certainly the best we could emulate.

Jesus was not a “migrant.” Jesus was an infant taken by His parents to Egypt to escape death at the hands of herod. And after herod died, the family returned to Israel.
Joseph and Mary did not join a horde of other Jews …or others…going to Egypt. they went just as a family in real need of escaping the threatened death of their Son. ‘
I’m really sick…and angered…by this islam lover who cares not about what Jesus or God says or wants us to do; he cares not about the Truth…from the Bible or otherwise, such as the Truth that mozlums are not “fleeing” death as Jesus’s family had to do; that many of those invading are bound and determined to cause trouble and *change* to the countries they are invading…a change for the worst possible outcomes.
these hordes are invading in order to force islam on everyone and this ‘pope’ is all in favor of that.
He should just quit pretending to be sitting where Peter never sat and admit that he is a large part of the anti-Christ. mozlums are out to destroy Christianity and Christians….and others too who do not bow to the fake ‘prophet’ and fake ‘god’ of islam. He should take a look at nigeria for an example of this fact.
the fool is a liar of the worst sort…pretending to speak for God and Christ. Just as welby, who is saying sending illegals out of the U.K. is not following God, Whom, welby said, takes “responsibility” for our mistakes.
Liars have a destination according to the Bible…which these two pretend to follow…and it isn’t Heaven or Paradise. by lying about Christ and God, they are working “satan’s desires.”

Yes–and Jesus’ family did not expect the Egyptians to provide them with welfare and subsidized housing–and even less did they start attacking and murdering their Egyptian hosts because most had a different faith–as Muslims so often do.

I have trouble in my own mind making a comparison between Jesus going to Egypt and migrants coming to Europe. Joseph, Mary and Jesus did not immigrate to Egypt to find an easier life by getting what they could from the Egyptians for free. It’s a stretch to call the Holy Family immigrants at all since Egypt was part of the Roman Empire. I would compare their trip to that of going from California to Florida – different state with a different governor but still part of the same country. Also, after a few years Joseph took his family back home and Jesus grew up and lived the rest of His life within a few mile of where He had been born – trying to teach the people something about God. Maybe the Pope should ponder this aspect of the life of Jesus.
If there is any comparison to be made I would stick with the story of the Good Samaritan who helped an injured man by finding him a temporary place to recover until the man could fend for himself. The Samaritan did not endanger his own family by bringing a stranger into his home nor assist someone who wanted to kill him because of his religion. As far as constantly feeding every person who is hungry, yes, Jesus fed a crowd of hungry people around Him but He did it only once because He knew if he kept doing it the people would only use him for their worldly needs and still reject what he had to tell them about their spiritual needs. My opinion has not changed that this Pope is like another Judas and he has no idea what Jesus was really trying to teach us.
somehistory says
Everything you have said is true. And right there in the Bible if the pope only wanted to pick it up and read it. The Bible has been translated, in whole or in part, into just about every language spoken by people of earth. Surely, with all of the money this fool has, he could buy one in his native language and read…at least the four Gospels. He pretends to know what Jesus and God want us to do, but he is a liar and makes up stuff according to his twisted views.
As you point out, Jesus fed thousands…a couple of times. And they were people of His one nation. But, during those feedings, He taught them what God wanted them to do and He spoke in parables. Some of His parables were not easily understood, so the only ones who found out what they meant, were those few who went to Jesus and pointedly asked Him what He meant.
The Good Samaritan was meant to teach them kindness to those who didn’t necessarily agree with the Jews…the Samaritans were part Jew, but had other races or nationalities mixed in due to the takeover by other powers. As you say, the Samaritan didn’t take the man home, but put him up in an inn and left money to be used to take care of him…until he was well. Not forever, and not in the man’s home.
Those two facts…the feeding and the care for the Jew…were not meant to be used as a sledgehammer to force Christians to take in and care for those who end up raping and killing…as they have demonstrated time and again…those who show them kindness.
No one should listen to this guy, this fool and liar.

I find this Pope is a waste of space. Here he is trying to make people feel guilty and feel that they are racists (ooh the horror) but he won’t call out Islam for the murderous evil that it is and always has been. He should be defending Christians who are continually being murdered in Africa and other areas by Muslims, and yet this weasel will not tear into islam for its evil, but rather tells us that islam is basically peaceful. Yeah, right. A total waste of space. Call out islam for the evil ideology that it is and always has been instead of trying to make people feel guilty of “racism”. Have the courage to take on Islam and defend the Christians that Muslims are murdering or get out of the way.
Aussie Infidel says
Pope Francis claims that “the West’s response to mass migration has been colored by prejudice about skin color, and that we are racists.
But we aren’t racists, just a lot more street wise than Francis seems to be. He is allowing his piety and compassion to turn him into a color-blind naive fool. Does he not understand anything about the history of the “second class, colored skin people” he defends so vigorously? I personally couldn’t care what skin color people are, but I sure as hell care about the ‘color’ of their mindset, and how they regard people like me as the “worst of beings in creation”, and that I should be “killed for being an infidel”.
When refugees – mainly women and children – are fleeing to “escape death” – as is the case in Ukraine – that’s a genuine concern deserving of compassion . But it is an entirely different story when the refugees consist predominantly of military age young men from a culture which for over a thousand years has fought against every other religion and culture on Earth, and is driven by the mantra of “Death to the infidels!” and the war cry, “Allahu Akbar!”
To put a slight twist on an old proverb, Francis simply “can’t see the army for the soldiers”. Perhaps he could explain why those massive stone walls were built surrounding the Vatican, and so many other cities around the Mediterranean”?

James Lincoln says
Unfortunately, the absolutely despicable Pope Francis still has a lot of people in the world who actually listen to – and agree with – what he says.
Makes one wonder whether or not the current pope is actually the Antichrist…
somehistory says
Since the Apostle John said that the “Antichrist” was in the world then, it isn’t one person. But this guy pretending to be Christian while he bashes Christians and misrepresents Jesus, is, in my opinion, a part of the Antichrist. He is not working to spread the “good news of the Kingdom,” but instead, browbeats Christians for not welcoming more and more mozlums who only wish to kill off Christianity. That is ‘Anti-Christ.”
James Lincoln says
somehistory,
Yes, “a part of” the Antichrist would have been more accurate.

Pope Francis: ‘Through My Racism, Through My Most Grievous Racism’
……………..
Grimly witty (this is a reference to the Catholic Penitential Act prayer, which goes in part, “…through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault…”
I am *so sick* of the claim that all Westerners are racist. People of color have been immigrating into the West, and Westerners are the most charitable givers in the world, even when adjusted for income. Not only is charitable giving mush less common outside the West, but giving outside one’s own region is vanishingly rare outside the West.
If anyone *really* cared about this, they would urge others around the rest of the world to be *more* like the West.
