The NYPD official didn’t say what kind of terrorism might have been involved, and while usually authorities mean jihad when they refer to terrorism, and it is Ramadan, there are other terrorists who could be responsible.
Hannah Meyers, director of policing and public safety at the Manhattan Institute, says the shooter seemingly “intended to cause terror.”

A subway attack that has injured multiple people in the New York City borough of Brooklyn is being investigated as an act of terrorism, a New York Police Department official told Newsweek.
The NYPD official told Newsweek that the suspect, still at large and believed to be a 5-5, 175- to 180-pound Black male, entered the transit system at the intersection of 36th Street and 4th Avenue in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. Upon his entering a northbound R train, a dispute ensued, followed by the detonation of a smoke bomb.
The train continued to the next stop, where gunfire erupted, striking four to 10 people, according to the NYPD official, who said the suspect was believed to have worn a gas mask, an orange construction vest and a gray hoodie. The description was confirmed to Newsweek by a federal law enforcement official who also said the suspect wore a uniform and utility belt from the city’s Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA)….

Also to be considered. Muslims increase attacks on kafirs (=non-Muslims) during Ramadan which this year is April 2 to May 2. Brooklyn has plenty of Muslims who use their mosques to blast out, every several hours, their loudspeaker-assisted claims that Islam is better. And with this being Holy Week the opportunity to humiliate the kafir might be irresistible.

Perhaps the “dispute” that broke out was someone asking him why he wore a gas mask and carried a cylinder.
Of course, it was terrorism. Even a person who is truly a “lone” attacker…such as the Unabomber…setting off any kind of bomb and shooting on a train, is attempting to terrorize the public.
However, if the guy is mozlum, he was not in this alone. And this past year, planeloads of them were flown right into the country…many have since walked away from the military bases and melted into the mozlum “community.”
We may not be told any other thing, the truth may be hidden, but this is not the end of the story.

Apparently the shooter has been on the FBI watch list for years now.
As so often with these cases, the perps being on a watchlist do not actually protect future victims.

Here in Australia they dismissed it as terrorism on the radio as soon as it happened. I thought it sounded like terrorism to me.
