For most Americans, Easter and Christmas are one day. Passover is a week. Ramadan is a month. Does Faisal Khan expect the city of Raleigh to shut down and do no business during the entire month of Ramadan? Why, yes. The principle is always and everywhere the same: in Muslim countries, you must conform your behavior to Muslim sensibilities. And in non-Muslim countries, you must conform your behavior to Muslim sensibilities.

Local activists are condemning the city of Raleigh for holding a public hearing related to bus rapid transit service during the month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the holiest month of the year for Muslims, with many fasting while the sun is up. Muslims then eat once the sun has set in a meal called iftar, which coincides with when the Raleigh City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the Western Boulevard bus rapid transit corridor on Tuesday….
While the U.S. Census doesn’t collect religious data, a large portion of the Triangle’s Muslim population lives near the proposed bus line, including members of the Islamic Association of Raleigh, which includes a masjid, or mosque, and school.
“We’re not living in the 1800s,” said Faisal Khan, founder of Carolina Peace Center, during a Friday news conference. “They are well aware of that. I mean, would they hold a meeting like this on Easter or on Christmas? Or Passover? No, they will not do that. It’s disrespectful. You need to be respectful to the community.”…
“I believe that it is shameful and disrespectful to hold this meeting during the holy month of Ramadan,” Khan said. “And I’m really disappointed and hurt as an American Muslim, not only for myself, but for the Muslim Americans, and by extension, other minority communities, Black and brown communities and immigrant communities, who I feel are constantly being marginalized with racial injustice and with racist policies.”
Some community members are scared and worried about the potential gentrification and housing pressures they could face from increased development along the future bus line, said Zainab Baloch, founder of Young American Protest and a former Raleigh mayoral candidate.
“I’m tired,” she said. “As a Muslim woman I give my life to service and then to never be taken care of by any of my government structures, in any case, in any of my livelihood,” she said.
The groups asked that the public hearing be moved and for the city to reconsider the timing of the “Mayor’s Unity Day,” organized by the city’s Human Relations Commission, which is also being held during Ramadan….

It’s always the same. And if things are so bad, why don’t they move to some other community in some other country…say, pakistan or afghanistan?
These mozlums…intent on turning every “community” into one of their choosing, always include…in speech, but not in practice…’other minorities’ and ‘immigrants’…so as to gain support from these groups in their arguments. But, many in these other groups, celebrate Christmas and Easter and Passover. They have nothing to gain here.
The “scared” need to be honest…they want the rest of us to be “scared” and they’ll do all they can to get their way. The “mayoral candidate”…should be asked What service? And if she’s “young” enough to found a mozlum activities group, “Young American Protest” then why is she saying she won’t ‘be taken care of’ by *her* “government structures “and in *her* “livelihood?
Why should the “government” support her “livelihood”?

Muslims enraged!! Surely this can’t be true. After all, Muslims are the most mellow, chilled types of people in the world aren’t they. Seriously, Muslims are always enraged about some thing or other, and being enraged and offended and victimised, along with killing non-Muslims and raping non-Muslims, is about all that Muslims do. It is good to see them being enraged. Maybe a few of the enraged Muslims will have a stroke or heart attack through being so angry about the situation. As somehistory says up above, Muslims should bugger off back to the Muslim countries they came from. They never do and the invasion of civilised, non-Muslim countries goes on..

Passover is an eight day holiday. The first two days are are the most holy and the last two days are the end of the holiday. The interim days are part of the holiday but there are no ‘seder’ meals, and people can work and go about their business. The eight days as a unity disallows ‘chometz’, or levened bread and all such products. It is a time to eat on Matso and other parts of the meals without any leavened bread products. The courts of the land, the laws and judgements of the land certainly have no reason to cease their work, nor would be expected to do so. This is why the assertions by muslims that others must desist from their lives for muslim laws and observances is a tyranny with no place in other lands, period.
There is a joke told that applies to the above situation, if somewhat obliquly. An old ‘hassidic’ man, in his black suit, tie, hat, in the blazing heat of a july summers day was walking down the street in Brooklyn past lunchtime eatery, where the local workers, Irish, Italians, would congregate for the tasty meals the restaurant provided. It was a non kosher Restaurant and some young workers, tough sorts, laborers were enjoying their pulled pork sandwiches, and as they were sitting outside, they noticed the old jew waling by and one of them half smirked as he made eye contact with the old fellow. ‘Hey Rabbi, wer’re having our pork sandwiches and they’re really good!’ His friends smiled but to their surprise, the old hassidic jew merely smiled back and told the smart guy ‘ That smells and looks delicious…but you know what would make those sandwiches taste even better? Can some Islam-savvy person please explain this? What does this even mean? How can an inanimate period of time even be holy or unholy? How can one measure the degree of holiness of April versus September? What is the unholiest month of the year for Muslims? Is there a Quran verse or hadith that gives instructions in time-period holiness? What is the holiest hour of the day? Is it 9:29 to 10:29? AM, or PM? And does it vary with Daylight Saving Time?

I don’t have a problem with a ‘religion’ declaring an entire month as ‘holy’. The problem is the impact on others. It shouldn’t have any impact except maybe if someone notices some change in actions, some change in the countenance of the practitioners. Other than that, it’s a private affair… private on a large scale, but private none the less. Or that’s how it should be, but
not for Islam, and not for muslims…. Of course the rise in homicidism is a characteristic of Islam and it’s ‘muslims’ during this time frame- and that’s the real barometer.

I feel the same way. I am not affected very much by the celebrations others have with their religion. Each has a certain right to believe as they wish. But, mozlums are not satisfied with that.
islam demands that its adherents force everyone to go along with whatever they want. There have been attacks on non-mozlums for eating or drinking and demands that businesses make many accommodations for mozlums who are employed and want special consideration…not having others eat in their presence, extra time off, etc.
And, these things are infringing on the rights of other people not to take part in mozlum celebrations.

So having a a public meeting during ramadan is disrespecful to Muslems, but broadcasting loudly a call to prayer on Saturday is not offensice to Jews nor the same on Sunday offensive to Catholics and other Chrfitians. Rational, informed folks knew, or surmised, quite correctly, the special, temporary permission granted by clueless politicians for Muslims to blare the adhan via loudspeakers up to five times a day in non-Muslim cities around the world–like Minneapolis–during the height of 2020’s Covid19 lockdowns would ultimately result in ever increasing demands to broadcast that supremacist nonsense every day of the year–and that permission would, of course, be granted.
Now that Raleigh’s City Council has acquiesced to Ramadan demands from its Muslims, don’t be surprised to learn–soon–that council business will be prohibited on Friday’s, too.
