Iran and Russia have been strengthening their alliance to evade American sanctions “and create a mutually beneficial black market.”
At least 70 Iranian companies and 250 “big holding and influential Russian business people” attended a recent joint conference in order to work on ways to collaborate.
It is to be expected that this powerhouse alliance will get even closer in the future. Old Joe has played a significant role in this, since he handed over Iran nuke deal negotiations to Russia. His timing couldn’t have been worse, given the global mega-shifts in alliances and turbulence stemming from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The disastrous nuke deal not only stuffs the coffers of Iran with over a $100,000,000,000, but allows Russia to cash in on a $10,000,000,000 contract to build nuclear sites.
And now, in a gesture of unity with Russia, Iran has slammed Russia’s suspension from the UN Human Rights Council, while Biden (despite boosting Russia in the Iran deal), “strongly” supported Russia being removed and called for increased “pressure on Russia’s economy.” He also called for Russia to be isolated “on the international stage.”
Although Biden is paving the way for the disastrous upcoming Iran nuclear deal and its empowerment of Russia, he continues to offer only double talk, and to sidestep all responsibility for what he has done, with no pressure for accountability from the mainstream media.
“Iran Slams Russia’s Suspension from UN Human Rights Council,” by Orkhan Jalilov, Caspian News, April 10, 2022:
Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, has criticized a resolution calling for Russia’s expulsion from the UN Human Rights Council amid the war in Ukraine.
Addressing a meeting of the UN General Assembly, the Iranian diplomat said that his government discerned “political motives” behind the resolution.
“The government of Iran attaches particular importance to elevating and upholding human rights, but the misuse of the United Nations’ human rights mechanisms in pursuit of political aims contravenes the need for universality and even-handedness in dealing with human rights issues,” Takht-Ravanchi said in his speech at the UN General Assembly.
“We accordingly believe that human rights must not be sacrificed at the altar of short-term political considerations,” he added.
On Thursday, the United Nations General Assembly suspended Russia from the UN Human Rights Council following a vote in which 93 members voted in favor, 24 against, and 58 abstained. The proposal, introduced earlier this week by the US ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, followed atrocities that emerged on the outskirts of Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv….

Of course they do. Not only has Russia been enabling a nuclear Iran, but the Mullahs *love* brutal thugs like Putin.
Infidel says
Iran doesn’t belong there any more than Russia does

So true, Infidel. Unfortunately the UN Human Rights Council has been an ugly joke for years now, with some of the most vicious unfree nations in the world serving there.

On a different note, while the US is busy lecturing India on what their relations w/ Moscow should be, they are looking the other way on Iran’s increasing closeness to Russia while trying to get Teheran back into the JCPOA or some major variation of it as written by Lenin’s namesake
Reminds me of 2014 or thereabouts when Obama lectured Modi one day on religious freedom, then flew to Riyadh the very next day for King Abdullah’s funeral and said nothing to the Saudis about it. And this was before the current reforms that the Saudis are today doing, which a lot of people admittedly have doubts about

Who cares what Iran thinks or says, they are a major human rights violator. How the UN determined to put these countries on the Human Rights council is just insane. A WOKE UN is a WEAK UN.
