Germany: Muslim migrant known to police stabs random man at Berlin train station

The Islamic State (ISIS) issued this call in September 2014:

So O muwahhid, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons, and troops of the tawaghit. Strike their police, security, and intelligence members, as well as their treacherous agents. Destroy their beds. Embitter their lives for them and busy them with themselves. If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be….If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him….

Berlin – Ostkreuz train station in the early morning. Berliners are going to work, it’s full. A man (29) stabs a passenger in the back from behind!

The victim (46) was waiting for his S-Bahn at around 6.40 a.m. on Tuesday. Suddenly someone bumped into him on the platform of the Ringbahn. Then the knife attack – in the middle of rush hour.

The seriously injured man saved himself to the security staff of Deutsche Bahn. Security was able to catch the perpetrator and hold him until the federal police arrived.

The knife was later found in the track bed. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics, then taken to a hospital.

The alleged perpetrator, an Iraqi, is already known to the police. When officers checked his personal details, they found that he had four warrants for his arrest for property crime and violation of the Narcotics Act.

This time, too, the Iraqi was apparently on drugs and had also consumed alcohol. The suspect was taken into police custody.

He is now being investigated, among other things, on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm and violation of the Narcotics Act.
