Five shot in Brooklyn subway station, undetonated devices found

There is no indication yet as to who is responsible for this, and may never be. There are so many violent elements in America today that it could be any number of groups. But there is no doubt that it was a carefully planned, orchestrated attack.

At least 13 people were injured, including five believed to have been shot, in a gruesome shooting in a Brooklyn subway station during Tuesday morning rush hour, officials and NYPD sources told The Post.

The bloody incident broke out around 8:30 a.m. at the 36th Street station in Sunset Park, where authorities discovered several undetonated devices, FDNY and police said.

Clair, a straphanger who witnessed the event while riding the Manhattan-bound N train, told The Post there were so many rounds fired off she “lost count.”

“There was like, lots of them. I don’t even know how many,” she said.

She said she saw the man — who was described as a 5-foot-5 black man, around 170 pounds wearing an orange vest and gas mask — drop “some kind of cylinder that sparked at the top.”

“I thought he was an MTA worker at first because I was like, I didn’t like pay too much attention. You know? You’ve got the orange on,” she said.

NYPD investigating possible explosion in Brooklyn subway station during morning rush hour

Graphic photos showing blood-stained subway platform floors and injured people at the station have emerged on social media, but it was still unclear how many victims were injured in a possible explosion, a mass shooting or both, police officials said.

The NYPD’s bomb squad is on the scene investigating.

The suspect is believed to be dressed in some sort of construction garb, similar to an MTA worker, sources said….

At least five people have been shot in a Brooklyn subway station by a man in a gas mask and orange construction vest who may have tossed a smoke canister on the platform to distract the rush hour crowd, according to NYPD officials and senior law enforcement officials. They stress the investigation is preliminary.

The shooter was not in custody an hour and a half after he opened fire at the 36th Street and Fourth Avenue station in Sunset Park around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police were combing through subway tunnels, based on some witness reports he may have jumped to the tracks, but the gunman remained on the loose as of 10:05 a.m.

Two of the five shooting victims were said to have been seriously wounded. The extent of the other victims’ injuries wasn’t clear. As for the other people who were hurt, officials said their injuries likely stemmed from the crowd response to the chaos.

Police described the suspected shooter as a man about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 180 pounds. Cops believe he acted alone. A motive is under investigation, though right now the all-out manhunt for the gunman is investigators’ top priority.

Experts say at this early stage that the shooting appears to have been an orchestrated attack, though they caution that much could change rapidly as details develop.

The FDNY says it responded to a call for smoke at the station and found multiple gunshot victims. No details were immediately available on the undetonated devices….
