I was one of the only ones reporting on this at the time. On September 17, 2013, I wrote here at Jihad Watch: “The U.S. is now officially on the side of al-Qaeda.” But of course that was “Islamophobia.” Onley now, eight and a half years later, has it become acknowledged fact.

Unmentioned by the president, and virtually all media accounts of the assassination, was the critical role that top members of his administration played during the Obama years in creating the Al Qaeda-controlled hideout where ISIS head Abu Ibrahim al-Qurayshi, as well as his slain predecessor, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, found their final refuge.
In waging a multi-billion dollar covert war in support of the insurgency against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, top Obama officials who now serve under Biden made it American policy to enable and arm terrorist groups that attracted jihadi fighters from across the globe. This regime change campaign, undertaken one decade after Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. on 9/11, helped a sworn U.S. enemy establish the Idlib safe haven that it still controls today.
A concise articulation came from Jake Sullivan to his then-State Department boss Hillary Clinton in a February 2012 email: “AQ [Al Qaeda] is on our side in Syria.”
Sullivan, the current national security adviser, is one of many officials who oversaw the Syria proxy war under Obama to now occupy a senior post under Biden. This group includes Secretary of State Antony Blinken, climate envoy John Kerry, USAID Administrator Samantha Power, Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, NSC Middle East coordinator Brett McGurk, and State Department Counselor Derek Chollet….

And something people need to remember or learn about Syria is that the people were peacefully protesting for more freedom pre-2012. President Assad proposed a new constitution that protected everyone and did not make Islam the supreme Theocracy in Syria. The the violence started – by Islam citizens. Keep in mind until the Assad family took power Syria was dealing with politically motivated violence since the end of WWII. That is just part of the history I come to find out about. People need to learn what has been going on. And remember, Islam is a theocracy not a religion, and violence is normal for Islam. Learn Islam’s real history. And read the Qur;an and learn why Islam citizens do some of the things they do.

Very true. I was never a fan of Assad’s father President Hafez al Assad for being virulently anti-Israel and promoting terrorism throughout the region – from Lebanon to Berlin. But one thing the Assads did right – knowing that the Alawites would never be accepted as real muslims, they were willing to expunge from the Syrian constitution the requirement that the president be a muslim. And Baathism being what it is, the Alawites had a power-sharing deal w/ the Christians, Druze and other minorities in Syria, in return for support in keeping that country completely curbed
It’s ironic that this is a place where the Russians got it right, and we got it wrong. And not the only place in the world either

Yeah, although ironically, wiping out various ISIS leaders but not getting Ayman al Zawahiri to date simply makes him the most prominent jihadist worldwide. A few weeks ago, he weighed in on the burqa controversy in Indian schools, praising the scam artist Muskan Khan who walked barefoot to college (which nobody does there) and screaming allahu-akbar in front of Hindu protesters against the burqa. I have advocated that India arrest her, find out where Zawahiri is and mail her to him for nikah

This is the hypocrisy of nonmuslims who start wars by supporting these violent groups. It’s in the blood of the nonmuslims to lie about wars so they have to create problems for Muslims everywhere. The dirty Russians can’t even wipe their asses and Americans don’t even watch the news and live in a bubble. The end of the American empire is nearing and we Muslims are proud of that.

When the O supported the Syrian insurgency, I wanted to scream. Someone near and dear in NY, a passionate Obama-ite, spoke of “brave Syrian freedom fighters”, but I shut her up reminding her that they were the same wonderful people who brought us 9/11, and who shortled “only muzlums could be so brave” right after the towers came down and then switched to “DaJooooooooz sunnit!” as soon as the first daisy cutters fell on Qaida hideouts. Were I President, I’d go over the whole thing, and fire each and every one of the “experts” who got us into that fracas.
