All of this is based on the Qur’an. Note that “in 2019, the kingdom beheaded 37 Saudi citizens, most of them minority Shiites, in a mass execution across the country for alleged terrorism-related crimes. It also publicly nailed the severed body and head of a convicted extremist to a pole as a warning to others. Such crucifixions after execution, while rare, do occur in the kingdom.”
Why do such things occur at all? AP won’t dare tell you, but I will. The Qur’an says: “The only reward for those who make war upon Allah and his messenger and struggle to sow corruption on earth will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be expelled from the land. Such will be their degradation in this world, and in the hereafter, theirs will be an awful doom.” (5:33)
The business about “‘blood money’ settlements to grieving families” is likewise based on Islamic law. In Islamic law, Muslim lives are explicitly worth more than those of non-Muslims. The Shafi’i Sharia manual ‘Umdat al-Salik dictates: “The indemnity for the death or injury of a woman is one-half the indemnity paid for a man. The indemnity paid for a Jew or Christian is one-third the indemnity paid for a Muslim. The indemnity paid for a Zoroastrian is one-fifteenth that of a Muslim.” (o4.9)
An update on this story. “Saudi Arabia puts 81 to death in largest mass execution in kingdom’s modern history,” by Jon Gambrell, Associated Press, March 12, 2022:
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Saudi Arabia on Saturday executed 81 people convicted of crimes ranging from killings to belonging to militant groups, the largest known mass execution carried out in the kingdom in its modern history….
An announcement by Saudi state television described those executed as having “followed the footsteps of Satan” in carrying out their crimes….

In excerpts of an interview with The Atlantic magazine, the crown prince discussed the death penalty, saying a “high percentage” of executions had been halted through the payment of so-called “blood money” settlements to grieving families.
“Well about the death penalty, we got rid of all of it, except for one category, and this one is written in the Quran, and we cannot do anything about it, even if we wished to do something, because it is clear teaching in the Quran,” the prince said, according to a transcript later published by the Saudi-owned satellite news channel Al-Arabiya.
“If someone killed someone, another person, the family of that person has the right, after going to the court, to apply capital punishment, unless they forgive him. Or if someone threatens the life of many people, that means he has to be punished by the death penalty.”…

Remember how the international News Media, and their “experts” said that the ISIS beheadings and crucifixions were not Islamic? It is interesting how they don’t say the same thing about Saudi Arabia doing the same thing.
What a horrid religion.
somehistory says
It truly is “horrid.” And as in many things in life, it all depends on who one is whether they are punished or allowed to remain free; whether their actions are condemned or ignored/praised.
As we have seen recently, mozlum and their supporters have demanded punishment for those of us who dare speak the truth; however, when it’s pointed out that china is not just ‘speaking’ but enslaving mozlums in camps, and forcing hard labor, even other mozlums are silent about the treatment.
the ruler of SA is not on the same level as the average John Doe. Because the members of isis were not considered by the general populace to be acting according to the demands of islam, they could be condemned for hi-jacking a “peaceful” religion; while the prince tells it like it is, the double standard is applied. Who’s gonna’ argue with the one sitting on oil?

Hmmm.

For all their apparent sophistication, rich robes, palaces and ostentatious wealth. They are the same bedouin tribesmen that Lawrence of Arabia lead to victory over the Ottoman Empire. I wonder what he would think of them if he wasstill alive.
Bruce Stanton says
Saudi Arabia certainly has streamlined the process of getting rid of murderers and enemies of the state.
In contrast, Nevada has 76 prisoners awaiting execution and hasn’t conducted an execution in 16 years.
Perhaps Nevada can outsource their executions to Saudi Arabia to save time and money.
gravenimage says
Bruce, this is certainly true if Nevada wants to behead “witches” and rape victims.
Whatever the problems of the West, the horrors of Islam do not improve them.

According to Sebastian Gorka, the Saudis are “the good Muslims”.
Presidents, other politicians, appointees and pundits have assured us, over and over again, they’re our allies.
Wellington says
I take your point, PRCS. There are not good Muslims as Muslims, only some Muslims less bad than others. Wonder if Gorka gets this?
Oh, I don’t mind, tactically speaking, playing off one Muslim group against another, but never should any sane and informed person who is non-Muslim think that there is some kind of good Islam lurking out there somewhere, someplace, respecting overall strategic calculations.
It’s nothing more than another “Tito situation” v. the Evil Empire, i.e., the thankfully now gone USSR (though Putin would like to revive it in Soviet or disguised Romanov fashion and why he is a dinosaur—and a very barbaric dinosaur at that).
There isn’t such a thing as a good Islam. Might as well state there is a good Marxism or good Nazism still hanging around. Yes, this awful.
PRCS says
And despite GWB’s post 9-11 assertion, Islam is NOT peace.

There are a lot of things Sebastian Gorka gets right; believing these Shari’ah thugs are our allies is not among them.

Saudi Arabia: Crown prince justifies mass executions by saying death penalty is ‘clear teaching in the Quran’
………….
There is nothing so Islamic as beheading your enemies.
So much for MbS’s supposed “reform” of Islam.
Westman says
Doesn’t it seem obvious that Saudi Arabia waited until it literally had Biden over a barrel before conducting the executions? Such things become bad PR if a US President makes public notice of them.
OLD GUY says
Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in the American market place and our education system for 40 years or more. Those investments give them power within the American political system. Why are we Americans so willing to sell our lands and business to foreigners. And why would we ever want Saudi Arabia or any other country influencing our education system? GREED!
Proud Islamophobe says
and that’s why sweet, warm, friendly, ‘different,’ Saudi Arabia can’t be trusted: A moslem is a moslem is a moslem.
