Muslim political analyst: Crimea and much of Ukraine are Islamic lands, Sharia tells Muslims to fight to regain them

It is Islamic doctrine that any land once ruled by Islamic law belongs by right to Muslims forever, for Muslims have a divine command to “drive them out from where they drove you out” (Qur’an 2:191).

Iraqi political analyst Ali Al-Shammari asked in a March 6, 2022 interview on Channel 9 (Turkey) how Iran could support the Russians in the Russia-Ukraine war, while Russia attacked Muslims in Syria. He said that Crimea and “large swaths” of Ukraine are “basically Islamic lands” because they had been part of the Ottoman Empire. Al-Shammari said that according to shari’a law, Muslims should strive to regain these lands “by any means possible.” He further said that it is none of the Muslims’ business who is right in the Ukrain-Russia conflict, and that the only criterion that should guide Muslims’ support of a country is their regard towards the Muslims. Al-Shammari elaborated that in this case, America and Russia are “just as bad.” Al-Shammari has previously expressed support for ISIS (see MEMRI TV Clip No. 6069).

Ali Al-Shammari: “How can [Iran] support such a criminal country [Russia] that attacks Muslims and has humiliated the Muslims in Syria? [Russia] has killed Muslims in Syria, but [Iran] is still saying that they are closer to the Russian position than to the Western position.

“Crimea and southern Ukraine – and even large swaths of Ukraine as a whole – are basically Islamic lands. Until the Ottoman Caliphate, these were part of the Islamic state. According to the shari’a, we should strive to regain them by any means possible.

“It is none of our business whether Russia is right or Ukraine is right. It is not that the Ukrainians are angels and the Russians are devils. These countries’ position towards the Muslims is the criterion that should influence our position towards Russia or America. America is not an angel guarding justice in the world, but Russia is just as bad as America.”

  1. Except that the areas being talked about are Crimea and the Ukrainian coast, which once was under the Crimean Tatars. They had a bunch of adventures, including burning down Moscow, which is why the Russians conquered then and expelled their ruler to Turkey. During WWII, Stalin smartly deported the bulk of them to Uzbekistan

    So no, there’s enough real estate in the -stans that those people can – and in fact do live in. Russia can keep Crimea for the Cossacks, and Ukraine can keep its own coastline

  2. The Muslims want the whole world anyway. Does it really matter if they once claimed it in the past? They are urged by Allah to fight until every part of the Earth is ruled by Muslims … and after that they will want the Moon and Mars and the entire solar system.

    • I’ve proposed sending every last one of them – including anyone who wants to convert to it – to Mercury! Once they settle there, they can inch towards Venus if they figure out space travel ?

  3. Well, I suppose from the Muslim point of view, all of the world is meant to become Muslim in the long run. We are all supposed to submit to their shithouse religious ideology. Talk about grandiose dreams. Here in Australia, around 10 or 15 years ago, we had this loathsome creature called Sheikh Hilaly, a big time spokesman for Muslims back then, who claimed that Australia belonged to the Muslims, apparently on the grounds that a few Afghan camel drivers had lived in Australia a century or so back. These lying scum will try any lie at all. His claim was insane. Eventually, the Muslim community eased the demented scumbag Hilaly out of positions where he got to bullshit about anything because he was an embarrassment. As far as I can see, islam has invaded civilised non-Muslim countries throughout history and dragged them back to barbarity. That’s all that islam ever does.

      • Thanks for that, Michael. I like Pat Condell’s saying islam is “a bloody nuisance to the civilised world” Ain’t that the truth. It is primitive and murderously violent garbage that should have had the decency to disappear centuries ago.

    • Russia currently demonstrating that it needs no help in being “dragged back o barbarity”. What are the odds on a “friendship pact”being established later his century between Islam and Russia ?

I think maybe they are really angry that the attack on Ukraine is not going so well. i suspect they thought it would be a lot easier than it is turning out to be.

      • Russian “geopolitical theorist” and allegedly secret advisor to Putin, Alexander Dugin, author of books such as “Foundations of Geopolitics” and “Fourth Political Theory” has in the past proposed and advocated for a grand “eurasian” alliance between Russia and Islam against the West. According to him (not saying I agree) Russian culture has more in common with the Islamic civilization than with the decadent liberal west…

          A member of an org that engages in the crimes listed in the RICO Act, such as extortion, murder, prostitution, drug trafficking, human trafficking, conspiracy to commit crimes, and the like, can be arrested, charged and prosecuted and if found guilty, sent to prison while the org keeps going.

          Crime families have been broken up because so many members were put away, and the Aryan Brotherhood has had many members sent to prison for the same kinds of crimes that the Cosa Nostra and Mafia members were.

          Now, if only someone was bold and courageous enough to take on islam…they could begin with c.a.i.rats, and the msa for starters.
          If enough members were put away, the org would collapse and if it didn’t, then future members would also be fair game for arrests and trials.

  5. Islam says that muslims are in charge of the whole earth, given by their false god. So the whole earth should belong to muslims, but the infidels are so evil so that they don’t want to surrender to muslims voluntarily. That is why Allah commands the muslims to fight all infidels if the circumstance is right.
    But I wonder, Allah wants the earth belongs to muslims, but somehow, it doesn’t. So what will Allah do about it? Allah must be a very impotent entity, only talk but no result.

Using the same logic as this muslim talking head, that once a country was islamic then it must remain islamic, so therefore once a country that was once Christian, or Jewish, it should remain Christian and Jews but as islamic savage warriors conquered, pillaged and slaughtered their way across the Eastern Nations from Turkey to Afghanistan then he must think these Nations should return to Christian and Jewish Nations…Ya think?.

    • Muslims, unfortunately, can’t wrap their heads around the concept of reciprocity. The idea that someone might decide to do to them what they do unto others never really crosses their stupid minds, hence all that recklessly provocative behavior and sense of entitlement.

  9. I have heard that CIA and Turkey have recruited about 420 Muslim fighters from Syria etc and sent to Ukraine to fight Chechen Muslims. Seems we have still not learned the lessons? It will more or less end of Ukraine.
