With the burgeoning Muslim population in Minnesota, several district schools will now be observing Muslim high holy days. Beginning in the new school year, Eid El-Fitr and Eid El-Adha will be included as official school holidays.

Also in Minnesota, a special Quran holds the signature of almost every Minnesota Muslim elected to office. The practice began when Ilhan Omar was elected to Congress in 2016. Imam Asad Zaman, Executive Director of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, ordered the “largest Qur’an he could find for her swearing-in ceremony.” Afterward, Zaman arranged for other Muslim officeholders to sign it, and the practice continues.

Even with its growing Muslim community, Minnesota’s district schools have until now not officially observed Muslim holidays. That will change starting next school year, when several school districts will recognise Eid El-Fitr and Eid El-Adha as official school holidays.
“Muslims are no longer a tiny minority. In some districts, they represent a large percentage of Muslims,” Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Council of American-Muslim Relations-Minnesota, told The New Arab.
“Many are traditional Muslims, so taking part in Eid holidays is important for them.”
The school districts that will observe the holidays are Minneapolis, Hopkins, Moorhead and Mankato. In addition to these districts having high Muslim — mainly Somali — populations, some of the leaders of the schoolboards are also Muslim, which Hussein said has helped the process.
With this new policy across several school districts, Minnesota joins a growing number of states that are increasingly recognising Muslim holidays.
“We expect more of this to happen,” said Hussein, “Now that we have momentum, we will target more districts.”
Though counties across the US with high Muslim populations have been making their cases for the inclusion of Muslim holidays in schools, the decisions are not always based on numbers.
For example, Fairfax County in Virginia has a high Muslim population, and so far has not managed to get Muslim holidays off, despite major efforts….

“Now that we have momentum we will target more school districts.” I’m sure they will. So they get two holidays and Christians get only one – Christmas (which hardly qualifies as a religious holiday anymore.)

From the writing of CDW ” high holy days.” With this, I must disagree. There is not one bit of what mozlums do that is “holy.” And, putting “high”…which comes from the Jewish calendar for worshipping the “Most High God.” imo, is wrong.
mozlums are beastly on their *unholy* days and no one should give them any kind of honor…in word or deed…for what they do is evil. Those are just days for accelerating the evil that they advocate every other day of the year….kill the infidel, rape whomever is close enough, lie, lie, lie and claim that the rest of us should not hold them accountable for the evils they preach and then do.
Will the schools be closed on those days so infidel children stay home or get sent to day-care because their parents actually work for a living? Or will the infidel children still be expected to attend and do school work?

That’s two days off. The dates change every year. I don’t know their calendar but it appears that every year both holy days come about ten days earlier than the year before. Sometimes they’re on the weekend. If a holy day starts at sundown on Friday, I would expect the schools to be open, since the holy day is basically on Saturday. The second day, eid-el-adha is in July this year.
I can’t really disapprove of the decision. I went to Catholic schools so it didn’t impact me, but our public schools were closed every year for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur..

PMK–with all respect–the idea that violent supremacist Muslim “holidays” are no different from Jewish holidays is mistaken.
We also had Jewish holidays at the College Preparatory High School I attended in San Francisco, which had a large Jewish student body. Note that unlike this with the Muslims Eids this was *not* a move to force Gentiles to submit to Judaism.

Grimly, I knew this was coming–and I would have bet on its happening in Minnesota.
Do Infidels even know what these “holidays” celebrate? Eid al-Fitr celebrates the first Jihad battle against Infidels, and Eid ad-Adha celebrates Muslim supremacy over Jews–and is celebrated with the most brutal slaughter of animals, often resulting in blood literally flowing in the streets of Dar-al-Islam.
