But despite his claims to be interested in justice, the document he would replace the Constitution with would without any doubt be authoritarian, depriving everyone of the freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and more.

The Constitution, which was written by “slavers and colonists,” is “kind of trash,” according to one reporter.
Elie Mystal, author and justice correspondent for the Nation, criticized the Constitution when asked whether the purpose of his new book, Allow Me to Retort: A Black Guy’s Guide to the Constitution, was to trash the governing document.
“It’s certainly not sacred. Let’s start there,” Mystal told Ana Navarro during a segment on The View. “The Constitution is kind of trash.”…
Mystal went on to say that the document “was written without the consent of black and brown people in this country and without the consent of women in this country.”
“If that is the starting point, the very least we can do is ignore what those slavers and colonists and misogynists thought and interpret the Constitution in a way that makes sense for our modern world,” Mystal said….
The Constitution has come under scrutiny from many on the Left who question the legitimacy of a document authored by white men. One law professor called for a “redo” of the First Amendment in December 2021, and last September, the National Archives Records Administration placed a “harmful language alert” on the founding document.

The Constitution is not “perfect” as it was written by man and added to by other men…all of whom were imperfect. But it is far from “trash” in it’s words and goals.
This creep should just go where no such “trash” exists in the government. We won’t miss his sorriness here. He could try afghanistan and their “new government” that uses a real piece of evil filth to control the people.

So, as I always ask in these situations, is Mystal proposing a Constitutional Convention be held, that an amendment be drafted and passed by a supermajority of state legislatures? That’s what they did for the Civil Rights Amendment and the Equal Rights Amendment. They passed amendments, and did so legally, as per the Constitution, which is the law, not a reference or a style guide.
Not so much nowadays, when the G.S.E.R.S. call for retirement of sovereignty by non-enforcement of our southern border, or when the actual lawyers in black robes legislate a “right” to abortion or creation of new genders. None of that messy legislature will of the people stuff now.

What a fool. Yes, the Constitution was written by white men but back in the 18th century (and in a host of other centuries) one group dominated (and often enslaved) other groups, be it another tribe, another ethnicity, another race or women. Virtually no group in past times who had the capacity to dominate other groups passed on that opportunity.
But what makes the Constitution so brilliant is that it allowed for growth, greater inclusion, much flexibility (amendments to the Constitution partially prove this) and, standing with the Declaration of Independence, provided not only America but mankind as a whole a statement about the capacity of mankind to “make a more perfect union” and “pursue life, liberty and happiness” with the noble theory that all are created equal. This joker from The Nation (what a leftist rag) misses all of this. My God, what a stupid age we live in.

When I was young blacks were marching to be included in white society. What he is saying now is, now that you have let us in we want to get rid of you. He thinks all the brown people and women are going to join him in his endeavor. Bwahahaha. What a maroon.
His African brethren sold each other in to slavery and they are still doing that. Slavery still exists in the country of his roots, Africa. Although very different in many ways Elie wants to play the role of the Russians while we play the role of Ukrainians. But if he thinks the Russians are having a tough go of it try that with us and see what happens. You can bet your bottom dollar that he is not one of the 3000 Americans that have volunteered to go fight with the Ukraine. He should go to Africa and fight the marauding bands of evil White guys that are butchering, enslaving and terrorizing Black villagers.
So called journalists are instigating stuff that they have no idea where it would lead. I just read that the 8th journalist was recently killed in Mexico this year. When you openly threaten a peoples country, their lives and livelihoods you shouldn’t be surprised at the eventual consequences. And to any slow to keep up people out there no I’m not advocating killing journalists. However, if we end up in a war for our survival they wont get a pass. They don’t support the Constitution so they would receive no Constitutional protection as it should be. To paraphrase President Theodore Roosevelt, walk softly be careful what you wish for.
If the left thinks we are a formidable force fighting for other peoples countries they should step back and imagine what we would be like fighting for our own.

Mystal has been ranting about the January protesters being “insurectionists”–absurd–although elsewhere he makes it sound as though actual insurrection is a good thing. He has said that white people have no right to talk about racism.
He denies Jihad terror being a threat, but says that anti-terrorism needs to “be applied to white people”. Nasty stuff.
