The Iran-aligned Houthis have escalated attacks on the kingdom’s oil facilities in recent weeks and ahead of a temporary truce for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The coalition has repeatedly said it is exercising self-restraint in the face of the attacks, but launched a military operation in Yemen early on Saturday saying it aimed to protect global energy sources and ensure supply chains….
The ministry blamed Iran for continuing to arm the Houthis with ballistic missiles and advanced drones, stressing that the attacks “would lead to impacting the Kingdom’s production capacity and its ability to fulfil its obligations to global markets”. Teheran denies arming the Houthis….

The Houthis and the Saudis have been at this for years. If Biden had done nothing to limit domestic energy production, it would have made no difference. We may be more aware of the consequences but Biden had no role in this attack. No change in his domestic policy would have prevented it.

This should suprise no one. The Sunni/Shia split and Muslim-on-Muslim violence has been rife for almost 1400 years now.

And as a result, unnoticed by Biden, Janet Yellen, Jerome Powell and other financial geniuses in DC, Saudi Arabia is quietly stopping the requirement that the US$ be the default currency that must be used in transacting any business involving their oil. They’ve already signed an agreement w/ China allowing the usage of Renminbi. In the meantime, India is buying its oil from Russia using a Rupee-Ruble agreement, and having noticed Riyadh work w/ China, they’d probably want the same allowance from the Saudis. The Saudis won’t be able to say no even if they want to, b’cos India will simply buy more from Russia
And once the US$ is no longer the world’s reserve currency, that $30,000,000,000,000 debt will become overdue
