Authorities likely declared Abdalrahman A. mentally ill without any serious or thorough examination of him, because they understand mental illness, or think they do, while they cannot understand Islamic jihad, or refuse to do so. They would rather think that there is some massive outbreak of violent insanity than admit that jihad exists.

The knife assassin Abdalrahman A. (27) stabbed three travelers in the ICE 928 Passau-Hamburg on November 6, 2021 (BILD reported).
