The world has undergone a dramatic shift in a short time. The worst authoritarian regimes such as Russia, China and Iran are more aggressive than ever, while America continues to sink under the pathetic Biden administration.
China has now pledged its support for Russia. Although stating its intention to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the Chinese Foreign Minister reminded the world that China’s relationship with Russia is “rock solid” and articulated “respect for Russia’s legitimate security concerns.” The most ominous part of Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s statement was his futuristic vision for the Russia-China partnership:
“No matter how sinister the international situation is, both China and Russia will maintain their strategic determination and continuously push forward the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era.”
It gets worse by the day for America. Six months go, it was the Afghan debacle; now it’s the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Add to the mix the fact that a grotesque spin on Russian collusion saw Biden working with Russia on a new Iran nuke deal, one that would strengthen Iran, with billions of dollars flowing into the coffers of the jihadist regime, which is infamous for funding regional and global terrorist proxies.
“China to provide Ukraine humanitarian aid, says Russian relations are ‘rock solid,’” by Reuters, March 7, 2022:
BEIJING — China’s Red Cross will provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine “as soon as possible,” Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday, as he praised his country’s friendship with Russia as “rock solid.”
China has refused to condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine or call it an invasion while asking Western countries to respect Russia’s “legitimate security concerns.”….
…..“China is willing to continue to play a constructive role in pushing for peace and promoting talks, and is willing to work with the international community to carry out necessary mediation when needed.”
China is willing to continue to make its own efforts to resolve the humanitarian crisis and the country’s Red Cross will “as soon as possible” provide a batch of aid to Ukraine, Wang said, without giving details. It was the first time the country has announced such help.
China proposes that “humanitarian action” must abide by the principles of neutrality and impartiality, and humanitarian issues should not be politicized, he added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met Chinese President Xi Jinping hours before the start of last month’s Winter Olympics in Beijing, where they signed a wide-ranging strategic partnership aimed at countering U.S. influence and said they would have “no ‘forbidden’ areas of cooperation.”…

Wellington had asked me if I was sure Ukraine could not land planes in its territory, and no,not 100% sure. Fortunately that is over since Poland has refused,it appears in The American Conservative article today:
“Biden’s Russia-Ukraine diplomacy is a debacle”
But first,Putin has 5 CARDS:
1.The atomic bomb
2.Controlling the Price of Food Worlwide ( Russia produces 66% of the world’s fertilizers)
3.The Oil Factor
4. A technique that appears in Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal”
5.The American Left: Biden is a PUPPET, the decision-makers are Leftists who are 100% determined to Destroy Capitalism in the US.
Doomer says
1.About Poland ,the article says:
“Poland, a vital and well-armed ally, humiliated Secretary of State Blinken after he tried to force it to provide Soviet-era Mig fighters to Ukrainian pilots who were trained in them.
Rather than send the jets to Ukraine, Poland offered to transfer them to US OWNERSHIP
(free of charge if the US replaced them with equivalent American used fighters)
at Ramstein Air Force Base in GERMANY
(in the opposite direction of Ukraine), leaving it up the US if it wanted to send them to Ukraine on its OWN RESPONSIBILITY .”
2. CARD “.Controlling the Price of Food Worlwide”
It has an effect,since:
“First, BRAZILIAN President Jair Bolsonaro declined to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Then, INDIA followed suit – as the Modi government attempted to balance its historic ties with Moscow and its strategic partnership with Washington. (snip)
So for those keeping track, while the west has continued to insist that Russia is isolated – and make no mistake, these sanctions will be immediately crippling –
if one considers the population and resources which originate in China, India, Brazil and the Middle East kingdoms –
basically HALF the world’s POPULATION and those
who CONTROL MOST of the world’s COMMODITIES aren’t on board with punishing Putin or easing the situation to the west’s benefit. (emphasis in original)”
Doomer says
In “The Art of the Deal” by Trump he says that when NEGOCIATING ALWAYS ask for More than You Want:
1. Putin a few years ago wrote an essay of the historical links between Ukraine and Russia, and people are saying it means he intends to ANNEX Ukraine.
2. In the peace negociations Russia has ask for: Ukraine write into its CONSTITUTION that it will never be a member of NATO,
for the independence of the Donbass,
for recognizing the Crimea as part of Russia.
Also:
What is certain is something Guillemain also stated, and that is that Zelensky(in 2021) did what Putin did before:
impose CENSORSHIP. In 2021 Zelensky banned,not 1,not 2 , but 3 OPPOSITION TV stations.
Doomer says
Why?
a. A small,determined minority usually overcomes a majority.
b. There is a small but fanatical group of ultranationalists in the Ukrainian government ( and they have the support of C-14, a paramilitary group that identifies with the Aryan ideology).
They didn’t like the opposition TV channels who are against the extremist ultranationalists. And they forced Zelensky to ban them.
c. There is also the latest video by Jimmy Dore on Zelensky.
I know JIMMY DORE is a socialist but he falls into the category of the LIBERTARIAN MARXISTS ( who are pro-communism but in favor of freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, etc)
“Ukraine Shuts Down Opposition News Outlets!”
https://youtu.be/d9pHZKSeqQk
The description says:
“Much newsprint has been devoted to the repressive censorship underway in Russia in the wake of the Ukraine invasion,
but censorship and the silencing of opposing viewpoints has been ongoing in Ukraine for a number of years,
including the shuttering of critical media outlets and banning Russian social media platforms.
Jimmy and political satirist Lee Camp discuss the increasing
abandonment of free expression in Ukraine, Russia and the United States.”

Doomer, not wanting an agressive neighboring state to invade your country does *not* make you a “supernationalist”.
CogitoErgoSum says
It seems as if the same people who have taken over the U.S. Democratic party (and now the U.S. government) are actually pulling the strings of Zelensky and his government. Whether we live under Putin’s rule or theirs, is there that much difference? The Democrats should really go by their real name – Democratic Socialists. They all want the the U.S. to be humiliated and destroyed – and are having a great time doing it. None of these elites in the U.S. are going to suffer one bit from a lack of food and fuel but they are going to make sure that you make the necessary sacrifices.
gravenimage says
CogitoErgoSum, I don’t believe that Ukraine defending against invasion means that they are being controlled by the US Democratic Party.

Doomer, I believe that Lviv’s Danylo Halytskyi International Airport is still open. There may be others.
Don McKellar says
The only thing I’m surprised about is that China hasn’t moved on Taiwan yet. I suppose the only reason they have not is that they’re studying what happens with Putin’s war and making sure they don’t make the same mistakes.
Infidel says
I think the resistance of the Ukrainian people is what might have given them a pause. A lot of Taiwan’s population lives on the mountains, and on top of that, something like 85% of that island’s population specifically considers themselves Taiwanese but not Chinese. As it is, China got a can of whoop-ass last year from India, and now, if they were to see their troops bogged down in Taiwan, it wouldn’t look good. They can see how Russia has its entire army on Ukraine right now, and don’t wanna leave as many weak spots
Peter35 says
I think China will definitely move against Taiwan, and soon. Why wouldn’t they? They will never have a chance like now, with America in chaos.
The entire western world seems to be against Putin, which on the face of it, indicates they have never heard of the Minsk Agreement, or what it contains. Far from being a ‘madman’, Putin does indeed have a valid reason for his action. Moreover, many prominent Ukrainians have left their country, saying it is run by corrupt, avaricious crooks, and has been for many years now.
gravenimage says
I think so, Don.
Infidel, hope you are right about Taiwan.

All too true…

The world certainly has undergone a dramatic shift in a short time. No one knows for sure how all this is going to end, but things aren’t looking to good at the moment.
When one despot kicks off other despots may follow suit, Erdogan is someone that deeply concerns me.
gravenimage says
Agreed, John. Turkey is already saber-rattling Greece. I also worry about Taiwan, and South Korea, and about Israel if Iran gets nukes.
