The Democrats are well aware of the old adage, “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” and are busy applying it as gas prices spiral out of all control. As PJM’s Chris Queen discussed Monday, Transportation Secretary Pete “Mr. Mom” Buttigieg appeared to be fantastically out of touch when he responded to skyrocketing prices at the pump. “Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,” asserted Buttigieg. “Last month, we announced a $5 billion investment to build out a nationwide electric vehicle charging network so that people from rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”
It was a real “Let Them Eat Cake” moment for Secretary Pete, but there is a method to his madness: the administration isn’t just out of touch, it is actively trying to use this crisis to impose its green agenda. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) chief Michael Regan confirmed that on Monday.
The Sacramento Bee reported that Regan was at the White House, along with Buttigieg and alleged Vice President Kamala Harris, to announce “proposed limits on new buses and large trucks to curb some of their greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% in the next decade.” In the course of his remarks, Regan boasted, “We’re pressing the accelerator to reach a zero-emissions future sooner than most people thought.”
Nothing presses the accelerator to reach a zero-emissions future more effectively than gas prices rising so high that driving a carbon-emitting car is simply too expensive.
At the Monday White House event, Harris was likewise enthusiastic, saying, “We are all in the midst of a turning point. We have the technology to transition to a zero-emission fleet. We can address the climate crisis and grow our economy at the same time.”
We are all in the midst of a turning point, and the green energy forces are not going to let it go to waste. On Tuesday, Old Joe Biden said that the situation was going to get worse, as prices are “gonna go up,” and that he couldn’t do anything about it. “Can’t do much right now. Russia’s responsible.” Biden also risibly claimed that “It’s simply not true that my administration or policies are holding back domestic energy production.”
How is it possible that the president of the United States could be such a shameless liar and constantly get a pass for it from the establishment media? In lying so brazenly, Biden must know that no “journalist” will challenge him, and he must also have such a low opinion of the American people that he assumes most will not realize he is lying. On that score, he may be at least partially right: it’s likely many Americans don’t know that Biden promised, during a presidential debate, that he would “transition away from the oil industry.”

The modern Democratic Party of the USA has become, effectively, an enemy of America and the American people.
It is tied to silly and destructive ideas (e.g., the entire green energy rot which is not rooted in science but far more in emotion), and a profound hatred for traditional America. Which America, far from perfect to be sure, set up a system centuries ago that can continue to correct all kinds of wrongs, one of many aspects of traditional America modern Democrats en masse miss overwhelmingly—think AOC, that silly, pompous twit as an example of such Democratic ignorance, never mind someone like Ilhan Omar who seeks the absolute destruction of America just as George Soros does.
I look upon the present Democratic Party as the single greatest enemy of America continuing its quest to form “a more perfect union.” If anyone here at JW can come up with a greater enemy of America than the current Democratic Party, I would be most interested in knowing what that enemy is. And I would add here that it is my conviction that the enemy within is nine times out of ten even more lethal than the enemy without—if you get my meaning.

These guys remind me of the bomb technician in “The Hurt Locker” – pulling on a wire in the dirt and finding a whole circle of hidden HE Howitzer cannon shells connected to it. They are playing with detonation wires in the economy without knowing all the connections.

RS, good job covering rising gas prices. Now please start covering rising fertilizer and food prices, since a major portion of our fertilizer comes from Russia. Once groceries start equaling our rent payments, living will be such a joy. Wheat will skyrocket: maybe we can all switch to Keto, if we ain’t there already?

Food prices are already going up here, due to fertalizer prices, gas prices in transporting food, and gneral inflation, which hadn’t been a big problem here since the end of the Carter administration.

Did the “government” build a “network of fueling stations” when the internal combustion engine came out?
Work ( how far you can drive ) depends on weight, time, distance, speed, etc.
You can go further if you go slower.
You can carry a 5 gallon can of fuel pretty easily,
You can’t carry a spare battery
It takes couple of minutes to fill a 30 gallon fuel tank
Even with a “fast charger” it takes 20 minutes to an hour to recharge
If you haul anything, like passengers, or a trailer, your range goes down
If you drive faster, your range goes down.

Yes. Electric vehicles may be fine for short jaunts in urban areas, but pushing them as practical for long range heavy trucking at this point makes no sense.

Isn’t it funny that the higher the oil prices the more money the oil companies make and there is nothing the government can do to about it. The same goes for the defense contractors who are making record profits thanks to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As for the oil companies, if the higher the price oil companies make more money, why wouldn’t the oil companies have had high prices all along? The ELITE wealthy of the WORLD want peasants to serve them. Us future peasants don’t need any form of transportation other than to walk or ride a bicycle. Where will we have to go, our life is just to serve them, not to travel freely about and enjoy life. Thats their privilege to see the world, eat in fancy restaurants and stay in classy hotels all served by us peasants. They really would prefer SLAVES, but that sounds too crude, peasants sounds so quaint and caring. I think the elite actually fly their private electric jet aircraft to conferences to work on the details of how they can totally control US. Like wise their yachts are all wind powered or total electric using no fossil fuels, that are so COOL and GREEN. The Green comes from the ink off of the money they are stealing from the rest of us through all the loop holes and inside deals they are “the only ones” allowed to use to keep the cash flowing their way.
The Dictators, Kings, Queens and ruling class have played this game for centuries. Those who have control want to keep it and will use everything and everyone to stay in POWER.
