Narayan Saha’s defenders say he isn’t on Facebook, where the alleged blasphemy is supposed to have been posted. All too often, accusations of blasphemy are used to victimize innocent people, settle personal scores, etc.
“Hindu youth held over ‘offensive post’ on Facebook in Khulna,” by Hedait Hossain Molla, Dhaka Tribune, March 20, 2022:
Police have detained a Hindu man along with several others for questioning in Rajapur of Rupsha in Khulna after local Muslims reported a Facebook post that defamed Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Some locals, however, said that accused Narayan Saha studied up to class three and is a hardware businessman. He does not know how to run Facebook.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sardar Mosharraf Hossain of Rupsha police station said: “An investigation is underway to uncover the real incident and identify the accused.
“Several people including Narayan Saha have been brought to the police station for questioning.”
The local Muslims started demonstrating after offering Johr prayers at Rajapur mosque on Saturday, and demanded immediate arrest of Narayan Saha.
Crowds also gathered in front of his house in Rajapur, demanding his exemplary punishment….

“Exemplary” punishment according to evil islam is bound to mean sadistic, vicious, way over the top punishment from the point of view of any civilised person. Islam is nothing but an endlessly violent, murderous religious ideology and should have no place in our modern world.

Grimly true, Tim.

These sort of cases always astound me.
A mere rumour of someone possibly saying something that might have offended a mudslime is enough to start a screaming frenzy by a mob of inbred fools who are all trying to prove how peaceful their religion is by killing anyone who gets in the way.
Westman says
Only in Islam do rumors instantly raise minds to murderous frenzy; forming mobs, looking for a target.
And claiming a likely fake, “Facebook post that defamed Prophet Muhammad”? Every time a man, who carries the name of Muhammad as his own, commits a violent act, he has defamed Prophet Muhammad in the West’s eyes.
This very Bangladesh mob, baying for blood, defame Muhammad and Islam. These men are likely on the lower echelons of Bangladesh society and unable to perceive that Islam impedes their economic rise in society yet provides an outlet for frustration – offering “unbelievers” and Jews as the target, offenses real, invented, or, imaginary.

All too true! More often than not, in Bangladesh, muslims post fake posts on social media, just like they stage an act of desecration of a quran or a mosque or something else islamic, and then blame particular Hindus for it

Infidel,
Yes, we are all too familiar with fake social media posts or grotesque SMS, earlier it was with tearing of koran pages including settling personal scores. There is a definite pattern in Islamic states especially where they are not run by dictators. Thank God, the legal systems (in the West) are yet to be fully Sharia compliant but fortunately the elites in the West are not able to switchover to Sharia in the pace as they would have desired. The fact remains that Sharia is incompatible to human civilization.

Bangladesh was the victim of a GENOCIDAL JIHAD perpetrated by West Pakistan in 1971 in which 3 million Bengalis were massacred and 300,000 Bengali women were raped by the Pak Army. Most of the perpetrators were never tried for their crimes.
Now many years following independence, Bangladesh is pursuing the same FANATICAL ISLAMISM and persecuting the Hindus and other minorities (including atheists).
OLD GUY says
How can you justify arresting someone for criticizing a man who has been dead for over 600 yrs. I guess everything that big Moe did or said is beyond question. Gee just maybe the media back in Moe’s time got it wrong, not saying the media is ever wrong or anything.

Bangladesh: Muslim mobs gather, demanding ‘exemplary punishment’ of Hindu arrested for criticizing Muhammad
……………
This would be appalling crushing of freedom of speech in any case–that it is likely a lie makes it all the worse. This *poor man*.
