Hadis Bukhari is clear on the meaning of jihad: inviting a non believer to the “din” (faith) and fighting him if he refuses, is JIHAD. It has evolved from that to invoking it to go on a killing spree whenever an Islamic political issue is not acceded to.

And the claim that women are inferior in Islam is all circular reasoning.
And yes–women reporting rape are often prosecuted for “Zina” when the rapist denies it was non-consensual. Madness, but mainstream Islam. And yes–the victim still has a problem not with this injustice, but with “Islamophobia”. Suicidal madness.
And as noted Malala is sadly another apologist for Islam, despite being shot for wanting to get an education, which is deemed un-Islamic.

Also, this rule about rape is based on a broken logic, logic being of course haram in islam. Like say Paola gets raped by someone, IDs him but is unable to produce 4 witnesses. So he skates, but she is still held guilty. In other words, they deny that she’s been raped, which would also deny that she’s had sex, since she said nothing about having consensual sex w/ anyone else.
Also, what if our hypothetical Paola (not to be confused w/ the Paola in the Mexico/Qatar story) was married? If she was raped by someone other than her husband and that rape charge has not been upheld due to the lack of witnesses, and let’s toss in that she’s otherwise been having sex regularly w/ her husband every other day before the rape, then what is the basis of charging her w/ adultery? According to them, she did not have sex w/ the rapist, and the only other person she had sex w/ was her hubby. So why then punish her?
In other words, shariah maintains that she is lying and telling the truth at the same time. Only in islam is this even possible

This retrograde mentality can be traced all the way back to Al-Ghazal and ibn Hambal and that fateful turning away from reason and the sciences.
That turning away from Sofia and Gnosis can be asserted as the cause of Islam’s decline from its zenith and into the obscurantism of Koranic literall interpretation.
The same exegesis the Bible was subjected to in the XIX century but with the difference that the Koran is emerging even more discredited.
That is only in Western terms, because in the Islamic world the Koran is still “the revealed word of Allah the all knowing.” LOL

Alfredo, Islam’s “zenith”–that “Golden Age”–was largely the work of conquored Infidels and those recently converted to Islam. Under the influence of Islam societies fast degenerated, especially re intellectual and artistic endeavor.

Actually, given that islam was created out of whole cloth by the Abbasids, if one accepts the theories put forward by RS’ book ‘Did Muhammad exist?’, chances are that the conquered people of Iran, whose achievements are being claimed by the muslims, achieved those things before islam was finally codified by the Abbasid caliphs and the Samanid rulers of Buqhara. In short, those people didn’t even convert to islam, but the historians spun it to look like they did

And yes–Muslims threaten Hindu women in Bangladesh if they wear religious symbols over issues regarding the Hijab in India–proving once again that all of that tolerance in Islam only works one way.
Then more murder of apostates and even anyone who mourns them, as well as Infidels. And so often, the police in Muslim countries do nothing to protect these victims. Some with “Honor Killings”, and the courts in Dar-al-Islam.
And pious Muslims want to shut down *any* criticism of this savagery.
And they also want to impose these horrors in the civilized world. And they celebrate these barbarisms–including cutting the throat of *an elderly priest*.
