“The problem is not that Putin is smart, which, of course, he’s smart,” Trump said. “The problem is that our leaders are dumb… and so far, allowed him to get away with this travesty and assault on humanity.”
“Putin is playing Biden like a drum and it’s not a pretty thing to watch,” he continued.
Trump is right, obviously, and it also reminds me when Bill Maher ran into some flag after September 11th when he argued that the 9/11 hijackers were not cowards. Maher has since emerged as about the only person still willing to criticize Islam within a industry platform and certainly is no Al-Qaeda sympathizer. The point he made and may have struck some people, including myself, at the time as having the wrong tone. But that didn’t mean it was wrong. The killers of thousands of Americans were not cowards in the traditional sense that we understand the term (they were cowards in the choice of their targets and tactics) and Putin is not stupid.
Certainly not nearly as stupid as Joe Biden.

Biden is more of a Globalist (which historically has never worked) and loathes the idea of conservative Christianity as it takes away from the pluralistic objective embraced by many of the Democrats.
As far as 911 goes, the Islamic States are responsible for performing these actions against our soil and people, yet the Bush “new world order” doctrine, enables both side of the isle to have bloody hands in selling out our nation to external interests who’s only goal is to make money and take power over others.
In short, I think that Biden is just another puppet on the world stage; whereas Trump was not beholden to any particular global pandering, and many in power hated him for it!

When people speak, they must use words and these may have a totally different meaning to those listening than what the speaker intends.
mozlum terrorists are cowards in the larger meaning of the word, but the September murderers got on planes knowing they would die…meaning they were not afraid of dying, not that they were brave. They wanted…perversely…to die in their delusion of a “paradise” made for rapists and murderers….
The guys on the plane that crashed in the field were Truly not cowards. They didn’t want to die. They had not gotten on the plane that day with plans or even a thought of dying. But they took action that they knew would lead to their deaths.
The word “smart” may not apply to putin as it might to Einstein or George Washington. putin is crafty, sneaky, snaky, like a criminal that figures out how to dig a tunnel, rob a bank, and get away with the funds without leaving a trace of his person having been anywhere near the scene. The criminal who robs is not smart, but he can figure out what he wants and a way to get it. Focus and determination may appear as intelligence.

Western leaders will run and hide when confronted by unarmed protesters. While strong leaders are on the street our leaders would be frantically pushing their way in to subway tunnels. The mostly elderly establishment types are banging their fists on their desks screaming that the election wasn’t stolen. Observers were locked out of polling places. Windows were covered in the middle of the night. All sorts of other big irregularities too. They know that if the truth came out it would be a big nail in the coffin of the USA. One person one vote is the foundation of our Republic. When that is broken everything else is destroyed.
I feel much sorrow for our young, our future generations, because these elderly establishment types don’t care what kind of country they leave behind. Why not, those people will all be dead and they wont have to deal with it.
Not sure how you could describe the9-11 hijackers. Suicide is not brave. Taking over a plane where you know no one has weapons to fight back is not brave either.

Glad to hear this from President Trump, especially his support for Ukraine and Zelensky. Yes, Putin is certainly intelligent in some ways–certainly in detecting Western weakness. He may have overestimated that weakness, though–it is starting to look like it.
As for Maher, I remember those comments. I didn’t find them particularly useful, I have to admit–but it is true that Jihadists are not cowards in the usual sense–that is, they are willing, even eager at times, to die while murdering innocent people. This is certainly true of the 9/11 Jihadists. If anything, this just makes these terrorists even scarier.

Jihadis are cowards in the sense that they don’t take on any regular army, particularly one more powerful than themselves. While Azerbaijan may have taken on Armenia w/ Turkish backing, Pakistan avoids doing that w/ India, instead sponsoring individual murders of ordinary Hindus in India to inflict ‘death by a thousand cuts’. The Palis avoid taking on the IDF. And so on
For Maher’s statement, they weren’t cowards in that they were willing to themselves die in the process of murdering thousands. But their bosses who sent them on that mission were running from pillar to post in Pakistan

If Trump’s comment on Putin’s being a genius was simply the observation that Putin correctly sized up the current crop of Western leaders, Trump is absolutely right. Unfortunately.
Biden’s administration has killed our steps towards energy independence, leaving us major customers of Putin’s oil and leaving Europe hostage to the Nordstream pipeline.
Allowing the Iran nuclear [lousy] deal further emboldens the new axis of evil.
