Leftist Rag Politico Hails Saint Biden, the Martyr of Ukraine

Old Joe Biden and his handlers have, not unexpectedly, mishandled the Russian invasion of Ukraine as spectacularly as they’ve mishandled everything else, and it has become increasingly difficult for the Democratic Party’s propaganda arm, popularly known as the mainstream media, to put lipstick on the pig and pretend that Biden and the people who are really running things are remotely competent. Now Politico has taken the lead in formulating what could become the establishment media’s new line: Biden is a noble man who sacrificed his presidency for the freedom of Ukrainians, at great domestic cost. If Politico’s take catches on, Biden is on track to be celebrated on the Left as the most heroic failed president since Jimmy Carter.

The new image for Biden is buried far down in a lengthy article that signaled the Left’s abandonment of its efforts to pretend Old Joe is doing a remotely good job: “Putin was Playing Biden All Along.” It’s true, Putin was playing Biden, and he has moved on Ukraine because of the dementia-ridden faux-president’s obvious weakness and incompetence. But as far as Politico is concerned, Biden is not a doddering old fool who was played by a smarter, healthier, more ruthless adversary, but rather a tragic figure, a man who sacrificed his presidency for the cause of freedom, heedless of the grievous cost to his own political career.

It all started, according to Politico’s Nahal Toosi, because Biden inherited a mess and tried to straighten it out. It seems that “Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump, had a contradictory approach to Russia: Trump constantly tried to gain favor with the Russian leader while his administration, spurred in part by Congress, imposed sanctions on Russia.”

Politico’s article was published on Feb. 24. On Feb. 22, the New York Post reported about a circulating story that Donald Trump, while he was president, gave Putin a stark ultimatum: “If you move against Ukraine while I’m president, I will hit Moscow.” To this, Putin responded, “No way,” whereupon Trump responded, “All those beautiful golden turrets will be blown up.”

Of course, it doesn’t behoove Politico to take notice of such a report, because it contradicts the Left’s discredited Russian collusion narrative and the still-live contention that Trump was Putin’s puppet. Instead of quoting this even in order to try to discredit it, Nahal Toosi opts to pile on more nonsense: “Trump and his aides also often dismissed or mistreated America’s allies in Europe, and Biden administration officials spent much of their first few months trying to repair ties with countries like Germany and France.”

Politico doesn’t dare remind the people who are deeply unfortunate enough to read it and take it seriously that Trump’s mistreatment of our allies in Europe consisted of demanding that they contribute their fair share to their own defense and not continue to require the American taxpayer to pony up for the security of Germany, France, Britain and the rest. Biden put them back on the dole, i.e, in Politico’s world, he repaired ties.

  1. At the date of this posting 2/26/22 Joe Biden in relaxing at his beach home in Delaware. That shows how little he really cares.

    Really is not such a bad thing that hes taking the weekend off and just resting as that feeble weak old incompetent old guy should.

    After all, the more time Biden spends on his vacations and thus stays away for becoming more involved in the serious subject of the crisis in Ukraine the less harm he will do.

    For if Biden is given a problem to handle , he will surly make it worse. That’s his history after a full year in the Oval Office of the White House while masquerading as a genuine President of the United States.

  2. Next on the alter of saint Biden the martyr might be South Korea, Taiwan, India and Islamic nations will find renewed vigor for Sharia and so on and so forth. I hope I am wrong here.

        I’m equally surprised at China’s passive nature right now. May be they are playing the wait and watch game. Saint Biden the martyr has already accomplished so much for America and the world. He has taught the world now to surrender to an enemy (that too an enemy of mankind and freedom) in a matter of days. He has taught us how not to respond to an old enemy (Russia) which wasfortifying its military for months together.

        In your hypothetical scenario, If Chicom were to have invaded Taiwan, it would have walked away with the booty within a day or two. We would be writing its obituary in JW.

        This useless fellow (Biden) is proving to be worse than a third-world or some banana republic leader. It is also a grim reminder to US and the world that Democ-rats/Lefties can be very creative in self-goal or destroying a nation from within, you don’t need a greater enemy like CAIR and its affiliates.

    • Raja, I think China is waiting to see how things work out for Russian aggression before launching their own. But yes–this weakness is indeed apt to embolden these thugs–with Putin, it already has.

        By another analogy:

        A potential rapist is warded off only when the women in question resists the potential rapist tooth and nail. If there is any ambiguity in resistance of the woman, the rapist just does his job whatever the undesirability of the victim of rape.

        I hope the world comes down very hard on Russia (and makes an example) so other thugs might be dissuaded to any future adventurism especially Chicom and Islamist thugs. I wish Crimea is liberated too, I don’t know anything about the ground realities there. Clear message is the need of the hour. I pray that the world leaders are blessed with wisdom in this regard and the hegemonic designs of islam.

  4. If you listen to democrats, in reality, Trump is the de facto President. 62 percent of Americans think Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if President Trump were calling the shots. When you listen to them you come to the realization that democrats can never succeed at anything. Weak men create hard times. Here we go.

  7. According to a congressman from Colorado Russia and China had been plotting behind the scenes ahead of the Ukrainian invasion. Naturally, the biden regime reached out to China for assistance on avoiding a Russian invasion of the Ukraine (sigh). And now I am hearing that Russia and Ukraine leaders want to negotiate but the biden regime wants to negotiate with Russia instead. Good gosh, talk about the things that wouldn’t leave. That group are nuisances to everyone. I hear biden is shining his drool cup hoping he gets called in.

  8. At least Politico got something right when it described Biden as “a doddering old fool”. Putin has noticed this too and that it also applies to much of the U.S. Administration.

    This horrible man, Biden, did this many times over wreaking things in the United States. Therefore , maybe, Biden can hardly wait until he begins making the terrible events happening in Ukraine into awful horrendously terrible worse situation that it now even is .

    Some people might say that “Things in Ukraine can’t possibly be worse than they are now.” That statement does make sense. Nevertheless ,it’s not a good idea to understatement the harm and destruction that Biden can magnify.

  11. I’ve noticed that every time Biden say’s something it is always lead by THEY TOLD ME to say or tell you. Who are the THEY? It really appears that Biden can’t think for himself. While he maybe an old fool, somebody or some group is steering him and telling him what to say. That makes our President a PUPPET.

    Sadly if I’am a dictator now’s the time to flex my muscles and grab what I want with vary little chance for any real response from the USA.
