New in PJ Media, written yesterday before Russia moved troops into eastern Ukraine:
Kamala Harris, who pretends to be vice president while Old Joe Biden pretends to be president, answered some questions at the Munich Security Conference about the tensions over Russia and Ukraine and offered up her usual mélange of illogic and tortured syntax, along with something new for Americans to have to worry about.
Harris claimed Friday that the die is cast, and Putin has determined to invade Ukraine: “Putin has made his decision. Period.” But one reporter asked Harris, “If you think Putin has made up his mind” to invade Ukraine, “what leverage do you really have? Why not put those sanctions in place now?” And then suddenly the vice president didn’t think that Putin had made his decision after all. Harris answered: “The purpose of the sanctions has always been and continues to be deterrence. But let’s also recognize the unique nature of the sanctions that we have outlined. These are some of the greatest sanctions, if not the, the, the strongest, that we’ve ever issued. As I articulated [yes, she really used that word] yesterday, it, it is directed at institutions, at particular financial institutions and individuals, and it will exact absolute harm for the Russian economy and their government.”
The reporter followed up: “But if Putin has made up his mind, do you feel that the threat that has them looming is really gonna deter him?” Harris answered even less coherently than she had before: “Abso – we strongly believe – and remember also that the sanctions are a product not only of our perspective as the United States, but a shared perspective among our allies, and the allied relationship is such that we have agreed that the deterrence effect of these sanctions is still a meaningful one, especially because remember also, we still sincerely hope that there is a diplomatic path out of this moment. And within the context, then, of the fact that that window is still opening – open, although it is absolutely narrowing, but within the context of a diplomatic path still being open, the deterrence effect we believe has merit.”
So Harris would have us believe that Putin has made up his mind to invade, but the sanctions threat could still stop him. This is curious in light of the fact that the sanctions have not already been applied. Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky found this strange as well: “We had different visions,” he said, referring to himself and Biden’s handlers, “on how sanctions should be applied when Russian aggression should happen. We’re being told we have several days, then war starts. I said ‘Ok, start sanctions today.’ They say, ‘When war happens.’ I say ‘Fine, but you’re telling me it’s 100% war starts in a couple of days. What are you waiting for? We don’t need sanctions after bombardment happens, after we have no borders, no economy. Why would we need those sanctions then?’”

I see Harris is doing another bang up job like she did fixing our border crisis. Sanctions will keep Russia from invading the Ukraine(according to legs up Harris) ,Russia is going to invade the Ukraine any day now (according to knee pads Harris), the press says why is the US not putting Sanctions in place? Harris answer is it is too early to put sanctions in place??An over the hill escort girl ,and a dementia patient in charge of the future of America now on the brink of a possible world war I wonder how many Biden voters regret their choice .But those mean tweets from the mean old orange man were just too much for their woke hearts! Having the cut and run rout in Afghanistan leaving billions of dollars worth of military equipment and possible up to a thousand or more American and European citizens there I am sure Putin is laughing to himself that America,s leadership does not know if it wants to eat shit or bark at the moon.

The Russians have been in the eastern seperatist regions of Ukraine since 2014. More troops are being added.
It appears Putin has four current goals for Ukraine since he can’t get a commitment from NATO to never allow Ukraine as a member:
1. Fortify the seperatist regions, to guarantee their permanence.
2. Guard and control the gas pipeline to Europe. Ukraine has threatened it in the past.
3. Secure the grain harvest.
4. Ruin the private economy of Ukraine, making it an unwanted drain on the West.
In essence, no longer waiting on a waffling West, Putin is making Ukraine into a buffer state between Russia and NATO – establishing a Russian, “Monroe Doctrine”.

I don’t actually believe that Russia has the right to ruin their neighbor’s economy. As for the grain harvest, Ukraine is not threatening their own harvest, and it is no business of Russia’s. I would oppose this behavior in the case of any nation, not just Russia.

Of course Russia doesn’t have the right to destroy Ukraine’s economy! However it will.
Russia buys grain from Ukraine but that dependency will be eliminated in the future by global warming permitting more crops in Russia. Putin is eliminating dependencies, including any Ukraine control over the existing pipeline on which Germany is dependent.
Some folks don’t realize that Germany’s cancellation of Nord 2 is for a FUTURE pipeline that would skirt Ukraine, not the existng pipeline in use. No sanctions will include the EU shutting off a supply on which they are dependent. Germany is now facing the short-sighted results of shutting down nuclear energy.
I don’t like what Russia is doing anymore than you, however, feelings are not reality. Putin is a rational calculator and anything the West can do about Ukraine is factored into his decisions. The US will never employ nuclear weapons at Russia – it would mean mutual destruction of the US.

Of course, the implication that the Ukraine has joined NATO is simply false. Then, he castigates the West for daring to espouse democracy.
Ultimately, this sounds like apologia for Hitler–why, Hitler *had* to invade and conquor most of Europe–he had to do it because, well, Churchill warned of Nazi aggression…
Putin isn’t Hitler, but the apologia is pretty much identical–Putin has to invade Ukraine because some Westerners worry that he might.
If some nation said that we were about to invade and take over Mexico, would we respond by massing American troops on the southern border? Of course not–we’d deny it and mean it.
Mearsheimer has the idea that the Ukrainian people should have no will of their own but have to bow to the demands of its aggressive neighbor is not just disgusting, but will not bring them peace–because appeasement never does.
He has also ranted against the “Israel lobby” and has urged the US to abandon our only democratic ally in the Middle East. He has condemned Israel for defending against Hamas. He has demended that Israel leave Gaza and the “West Bank”–apparently he hasn’t noticed that Israel *already* left Gaza in 2005.
He has said that if Israel does not cede the “West Bank” to Jihadists that it will become an “apartheid state”. He has often been accused of antisemitism–there are many more reasons why this is so.
He has also sneered at the idea that “non-state actors” like Al Qaeda are actual threats. I really find little in his views to respect.

US Truckers are organizing a peaceful protest in DC. In opposition DC democrats are calling in the national guard and reconstructing a fence around the capitol. As all of that unfolds biden says that defending freedom (in the Ukraine) will have costs for us. DC democrats have nearly doubled the price of gas. Inflation is out of control. Illegal immigration is welcomed. 75 thousand un-vetted Afghans have been relocated in to the USA. A race war is being carried out against white males. Our elections have become completely corrupted. The list goes on and on and is too long to note everything. With all of that going on I am supposed to give a damn about problems Russia and the Ukraine are having?
Democrats do not have the best interest of the American people in mind. Democrats hated make America great, the America first agenda, and as a result I reject anything democrats propose. Well OK, it took awhile but I fully get it now. I have initiated a great reset of my own. Issues of the past have taken us to where we are now will be reevaluated. I’m taking a knee on everything democrats represent as well as quite a bit of things I may have cared about in the past. The gloves are off. I hope the world enjoys my new normal and I’m not alone in that. I don’t mention the feckless republicans as they are not even full fledged democrats they are lowly assistant democrats. I have two words to say to DC and one starts with F, the other starts with O.
