This is a clear example of how clueless and willfully ignorant the FBI is. The bureau has been so thoroughly politicized that agents find “white supremacism” everywhere, but can’t see Islamic anti-Semitism when it’s right in front of their faces. Yes, this hostage taker was narrowly focused on getting convicted jihad terrorist Aafia Siddiqui freed. However, he went into a synagogue to take hostages. The Colleyville synagogue has nothing to do with Aafia Siddiqui. Nor does any other synagogue. He went into a synagogue rather than anywhere else to take hostages because of the complex of beliefs and attitudes he had about Jews derived from Islamic texts and teachings: that they’re the worst enemies of the Muslims (5:82), plus modern-day conspiracy theories about how they control everything. The FBI, once again, is either lying or stupid, or both.

Got Islam got terror got Jew hatred be it in the middle east, Europe, South America ,or America,s southwest. The increase of attacks on Jews in Germany, England, America and France is in directly in line with the increase in the Moslems in those countries almost all attacks done by Moslems screaming anti-Semitic non-sense when they do these attacks. When one of those attacks is done by a non-Moslem throw back Nazi bigot or some other fringe supremist group it is in the news for over a month. When it is done by a Moslem doing his Jihad it is in the the news less the 48 hours with it being labeled mental illness by the law enforcement agencies in western countries..

One aspect of the good news (which this website too little reports, because the brilliant and fearless Robert Spencer apparently is convinced that the news on these issues is almost all bad) — one aspect of the good news is that Muslims are leaving Islam in large numbers because they are learning on the internet how the core texts show that Muhammad was the “most obvious false prophet in history.” (David Wood).
Unfortunately, the FBI is only following policies they are compelled to follow by cowardly and/or ignorant politicians. And to a certain extent, the politicians are only following the policies voters demand or that voters fail to reject with sufficient energy. “I shouted out ‘Who killed the Kennedys,’ when after all, it was you and me.” And why are people afraid to object publicly and with enough energy? Jihad terror. Most people are too afraid and too ignorant of Islam. The jihadists are thus holding our democracy hostage, and most people are not even aware of the extent to which that is the case. A large proportion of the Dems are totally unaware of what Islam (not Muslims, Islam) is. A significant proportion of Republicans are unaware of what Islam is. And of those among Dems and Repubs who have read the core texts and studied Islamic nations and history and realized that Islam is an expansionist, totalitarian, terrorist system that touts Muhammad’s utterly corrupting moral example as the highest paragon of morality, the majority can’t be troubled to speak out, or are simply too afraid to speak out. Those who don’t know about Islam therefore rarely hear anything substantive against it and do not begin to suspect what is happening to our democracy.
Perhaps what is needed is for some expert or experts on Islam to write a petition criticizing Islam and asking Muslims to abandon Islam. Maybe ex-Muslims should be among the expert writers of the petition. Then stipulate that signatures would only be made public if at least, say, a million people sign. Then once a million have signed, the petition could be published online, perhaps also as a paid advertisement in some major newspaper, or in other venues, etc. No doubt this idea has problems. Just trying to brainstorm, I guess.
Hoi Polloi says
RS has often said that people are leaving islam and that the penalty of death for leaving islam means that many do so without announcing. He has been a part of the effort to expose the flaws of islam and discussed the effects on its adherents of a fuller understanding of its flaws.
As to those politicians making policy decisions and pronouncements regarding this subject merely being uninformed, that is no defense and I doubt they are merely poorly informed. Agency employees who serve not the citizens’ interests, but their own have no excuse.
eduardo odraude says
Hoi Polloi, thank you for your thoughtful reply.
RS has often said that people are leaving islam and that the penalty of death for leaving islam means that many do so without announcing.
Nothing in my comments said otherwise. I only said that RS’s view is evidently that almost all the news on these issues is bad news, and that’s why almost all the stories he reports are rather depressing. Nowhere that I am aware of has Robert Spencer at this website affirmed the view or commented on the view that very large numbers of Muslims are abandoning Islam. If someone can show me that he has affirmed that large numbers of Muslims are leaving Islam, I’ll stand corrected. And notice, I’m not saying he should report that. His reasons for not reporting that (maybe he thinks it’s not true or not relevant) might be impossible to find fault with. I’m merely stating the fact that probably less than one-twentieth of his reports are good news about how Islam is being restrained or held back or receding or whatever. If someone can demonstrate that I’m wrong about that, I’ll stand corrected. I’m not saying RS is wrong to report almost entirely negative news about how Islam is slowly taking over with almost no resistance against it. I never said he was wrong, only noted that that has been his approach, because he believes that is the overwhelming preponderance of the news out there. I will also note that Christine Douglass-Williams’ reports have a higher proportion of good news on these issues. Again, I’m not asserting she is right to do that, only stating the fact that that is the case.
He has been a part of the effort to expose the flaws of islam
He has not just been a part of that effort. For a long time he was probably the global leader in that effort. Nor have I ever said anything to the contrary and have often affirmed that very point. I guess I’ve read a half dozen of his books and have followed his website for well over a decade. Since the Western and global resistance to Islamic totalitarianism has been developing for two decades now, a number of other global leaders have since joined Spencer at very high levels of influence.
and discussed the effects on its adherents of a fuller understanding of its flaws.
He has discussed that, but very rarely as a proportion of the total output of his website and books. Notice: I’m not saying he should change what he does, only stating the fact that his approach for two decades or more has been to report mainly bad and depressing news, because he believes — perhaps correctly — that most of the news on these issues is bad and depressing, and he’s determined to report objectively and accurately. Maybe he’s right to report almost entirely negative news.
As to those politicians making policy decisions and pronouncements regarding this subject merely being uninformed, that is no defense and I doubt they are merely poorly informed.
Nowhere in my previous comments did I say they were “merely poorly informed.” I said they were also afraid and also that to some extent they are simply doing what voters — at least those who speak up most — demand. I’m not absolving politicians of their responsibilities for leadership. I’m suggesting that we the people, by our actions and lack of action, are ultimately responsible for what the politicians do. (I of course exempt from this charge people like Robert Spencer, who are leaders.)
Thank you again for your thoughtful reply, Hoi Polloi.
eduardo odraude says
Correction: I see that in my 10:43 am comment I said “this website too little reports” good news about how many Muslims are leaving Islam. I withdraw the claim that this website reports too little about such things. In other words, I get it that RS might be right to report almost no good news about how Islam is losing and he may be right to report almost entirely depressing news about how Islam is spreading with almost no effective resistance to it. Perhaps there is in fact very little good news, and he is just being objective in his proportions of good news and depressing news. Sometimes I feel the relentless drumbeat of depressing news here inadvertently works against RS’s own goal of resisting Islam. If endlessly depressing news works against his own goal of resisting Islam or jihad, is there some way to adjust the approach? I’m guessing RS would say no, as he must have already considered this question himself often enough.
Infidel says
Eduardo
It’s unknowable how many people are really leaving islam, how many are performing taquiyya, how many who follow islam secretly wish to leave but are afraid to and how many are true believers. Which is why it makes little sense for this site to dwell on that
eduardo odraude says
Infidel, thanks for your thoughtful reply.
I think David Wood has provided a great deal of solid evidence that lots of people are quietly (and increasing numbers publicly) leaving Islam. Admittedly, what “lots” means in a global context remains uncertain. But there is a lot of good evidence, despite uncertainties. For example, below relevant David Wood, videos, dozens of ex-Muslims comment on how Wood’s videos have caused them to abandon Islam, to realize Islam is monstrous, and to thank Wood. It is not taquiyya when ex-Muslims start agreeing online with David Wood that Islam was produced by the most obvious false prophet in history. In any case, I think we who visit this website need some good news along with the almost endlessly bad news here. Tokyo Rose’s job in World War II was to pound US soldiers with relentlessly bad news for the US war effort. She was of course generally lying, however, whereas Robert Spencer is one of the few people in today’s world who tells the truth honestly and fearlessly. Still, I wonder if he could not search harder for a bit more news that would cheer non-Muslims.
Infidel says
I have been watching a few David Wood videos here and there, and he does make crisp arguments about Mohammed and islam. Although David Wood’s mission is to get as many muslims as possible to doubt their faith and cross over. A mission similar to what Ali Sina’s FaithFreedom used to be. But Ali Sina himself gave up eventually and switched his mission to informing non-muslims about muslims and islam, which ain’t much different from this site
Muslims who are either doubters or fully convinced apostates would have to make their own risk assessment based on where they live to decide whether or not to be open about their apostasy
James Lincoln says
eduardo odraude,
Just one question:
What is the ratio of people worldwide
1. leaving islam
versus
2. “new” people either being born into it – or converting into it?
Net gain or net loss?
Daniel Triplett says
Although I don’t have the reference in front of me, I’ve read statistics saying 20,000 Muslims per year in the US apostatize out of Islam, while 50,000 non-Muslim Americans per year freely convert into Islam, for a 30,000 net Islamic gain just in America, not counting births into American Muslim families, who we all know intentionally wage womb-Jihad with far superior birthrates.
Curiously, if aversion to Islamic apostasy is due solely to fear of imprisonment or death from the state, then why don’t we see mass apostasy from Muslims the moment they’ve immigrated onto Western soil, where they’re protected by our Western laws and fear no reprisal? Sure, some may fear honor killing reprisals from their family, but in the grand scale, those are exceedingly rare in the West, and usually limited to young women. So, why don’t we see mass apostasies, and why are so many Westerners freely converting into Islam without any coercion?
I think most of them truly buy into it. At any rate, the net increase in global Ummah population far exceeds any apostasy out of it. By 2050, the global Ummah population will surpass the global Christian population, rapidly widening the gap into the future.
It’s clear to me that while the information and educational campaign spreading the word about Islamic doctrine and encouraging Islamic apostasy is indispensable, words alone are not going to win the war. Any successful strategy for victory will necessarily also include force, and a lot of it.

Underrating Communist China might be a dangerous mistake. It no longer seems to be true of China that its industrial products are of poor quality. For the most part it probably hasn’t been true for a long while now.
They produce something like four times as many engineers as we in the US produce, and maybe twice as many doctorates in the sciences. The Chinese communist government might eventually render China’s impressive scientific and engineering resources uncreative and impotent, something one must hope for as long as the communists are in power, but China’s technical and technological accomplishments are not small. I suspect this is also shown by the rising number of scientific patents achieved by China.

Ask any US engineer how much of China’s manufacturing was built on, and is still dependent on, US engineers. Many of China’s engineering schools are uncredited, subpar, and operated to meet CCP demand for grads. China also confers engineer status on high school grads on the basis of success at favored schools and connections. Plants have serious quality problems because they refuse to recognize years and years of science and standards simply because they’re western in origin. Additionally, China ships products to the US that are in serious violation of standards set by the US government. With increasing shipping costs, many corps are looking to reshore.
eduardo odraude says
It’s true that Chinese Communist state planning has produced tremendous waste. There is some evidence that the Communist Chinese economy is increasingly in difficulties. I only hope you are right about the quality of Chinese engineers and scientists and schools. I have nothing against Chinese, but only against their totalitarian government. I gather Chinese universities have improved a lot in recent years, and by some accounts are now increasingly up to US scientific standards. I hope that’s wrong. And I hope, as you will probably say, that the success of the Chinese space program of late is an exception to the rule.
James Lincoln says

I’ve travelled through much of China with my airline job, to cities such as Shanghai, Bejing, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzen, and more. Politics and CCP aside, I was surprised the first time I saw China how modern it is. Their cities are large and incredibly beautiful, with modern architecture and skyscrapers in abundance. Well-designed magnificent infrastructure, such as bridges, roadways, trains, ports, and airports. Their large cities appear just as if not more spectacular than any of our American cities, one difference being that they are clean and without any graffiti at all, though the air pollution is horrendous (even on a clear sunny day, you can’t see more than 3 miles due to smog). And of course Hong Kong, along with San Francisco, are the two most beautiful cities on the planet. Macao is marvelous too (the Las Vegas of Asia).
Infidel says
Freudian slip, I presume? ?
eduardo odraude says
To be clear, I distinguish between Muslims and Islam (as Robert Spencer does). Many Muslims know surprisingly little about Islam, do not speak Arabic so do not know what they are praying when they pray the Qur’an. Many Muslims in the West receive a whitewashed version of Islam from their imams, who lie about Islam’s core texts because Muslims are still a minority in the West. In this, the imams follow the example of Muhammad, who at the beginning of his ‘prophetic’ career in Mecca was weak in numbers of followers and therefore preached tolerance of other beliefs (though Islam’s own main source texts show that even at that early ‘tolerant’ stage he was plotting massive conquest and that he was publicly insulting the pre-existing religious beliefs and believers in Mecca, who initially tried to tolerate him and his insults and threats and find a way of co-existing but in the end forced him to leave Mecca because of his implications of violence and because he would not agree to stop insulting them and their beliefs. Then when Muhammad fled to Medina with his followers and became the political leader there and consequently was no longer weak in numbers and now controlled the power of a state, he shifted from stealth jihad and public ‘tolerance’ to promoting ‘defensive’ jihad. And soon he moved on to offensive jihad and pure conquest for the sake of Islam, and that mode of Islam thus unfortunately has the last word over the earlier ‘tolerant’ Qur’an verses.) Many Muslims are innocent of Muhammad’s ugly immoral character and unaware of it and abandon Islam when they are convinced by actual perusal of the main source texts (Qur’an, Hadith, Sira, Tafsir), the honest examination of which shows that Muhammad tortured a man to get hold of a treasure, had hundreds of disarmed captive Jews beheaded, in his 50s consummated marriage with a 9-year-old prepubescent girl, owned sex-slaves, ordered that there was to be no punishment for murdering someone who insulted him, denounced women as of inferior intelligence to men and as the majority of those in hell, ‘revealed’ Allah’s statement that husbands who feared disobedience from their wives should remonstrate with them, banish them to beds apart, and then ‘beat them,’ and in various ways created a totalitarian, theocratic, expansionist, system of terror. Fortunately, for the past couple of decades, and for the first time in the history of Islam, massive numbers of Muslims are seeing critiques of the main Islamic source texts through the internet, and it has become harder and harder for the lying imams in the West to whitewash Islam. Thus, as a number of imams have themselves attested, and as comments made by ex-Muslims who watch David Wood’s and others’ videos about Islamic apostasy also attest, tons of Muslims have started abandoning Islam.
Infidel says
Eduardo
The distinction b/w ‘muslims and islam’ is pretty much a tiring exercise in semantics: there would be no worldwide threat of islam if there weren’t 1.8 billion muslims worldwide, of which an unknowable number are jihadists, and on top of that, an unknowable number of non-muslims converting to islam to join the jihad. If there were only 180 muslims worldwide, as opposed to 1.8 billion, islam would be no more dangerous than the Branch Davidian cult that surfaced in 1993 under Dave Koresh, a modern day version of Muhammad
eduardo odraude says
So, Infidel, you disagree with Robert Spencer on that. He always distinguishes between Islam and Muslims, partly for the reasons I enumerated.
eduardo odraude says
Infidel, I should add that I don’t deny that there are some ambiguities in the question and the answer about the relation between Muslims and Islam. But part of what makes the West worth defending from Islam is that the West emphasizes the individual’s responsibility or guilt, not collective guilt, and also that the West emphasizes freedom of thought and belief. For the West to adhere to its own civilization, our law must continue to focus on individual beliefs and actions, not the mere fact that someone says he’s a Muslim. I don’t think someone’s rights should be stripped who calls himself a Muslim but who does not support Sharia or jihad. I do think it would be good if, with exceptions for some individuals, immigration into the West from any nation that does not protect freedom of religion and freedom of speech should be stopped or severely limited. That would put salutary pressure on such nations (which include not just Islamic nations, but various others as well) to start freeing up their peoples, and it would reduce the influx of totalitarian cultures into free societies.
Infidel says
Yeah, I disagree w/ RS on that – and that disagreement is something I’ve had since 2010. Unfortunately, the archives of this site have lost the comments, a lot of them very insightful
Daniel Triplett says
Right, because without Muslims, Islam would exist only in the wind as a bad idea. It’s the Muslims who make Islam real and give it power. Islam is dangerous because Muslims pledge their souls to it, then bring Islam to bear upon the rest of us.
In the same way, Nazism was a bad idea too. We held Nazis accountable for exercising that bad ideology and making it real against the rest of us. We even took it a step further and held all Germans accountable, whether or not they were card carrying Nazis, for condoning, supporting, and allowing the Nazi ideology and government to flourish. Bombs dropped from 25,000 feet to raze German cities didn’t exclusively target Nazi combatants who murdered Jews. US/UK Strategic Area Bombing policy made no distinction between Germans or Nazis, or man, woman, and child. They all paid the price.
We can’t force ideologies to surrender — only the people who give the ideology power.

Whenever a person is killed by a policeman during an arrest, it is treated like a murder, the policeman is tried, and the left says that white supremacist racism was the motive, and it is in the genes of all white people. Whenever a Muslim in involved in kidnapping, bombing or murder, it has nothing to do with Islam. The Jewish, Christian or Hindu victims were random victims, not explicitly targeted for their religion. I notice that but it is a mystery to me. Could it be appeasement or a ploy to get more votes for leftists? What could be the reason for treating people differently. Now some places are going to discriminate in giving medicine for covid among black and white people, and the white people have to sit at the back of the bus now. Turnabout is fair play, it seems. From color blind to color conscious. But would they either put Muslims at the back of the line for covid treatments because of jihad? Perish the thought. That would be discrimination based on Islamophobia. Different from discriminating against white supremacists, who are basically all whites. And that includes Jewish people too, of course.
eduardo odraude says
Basically, if you criticize Islam today, you tend to get hit hard from two sides: the pc left, who can deplatform, demonetize, and fire you, and Muslims, some of whom will send you death threats and sometimes target you for violence or death. Thus an alien totalitarian culture threatens you with death, while your own culture for the most part not only does not defend you, but attacks you. So most people today who are critical of Islam don’t speak up or don’t speak publicly. Nevertheless, because of ever more fearless people speaking out (like Robert Spencer, David Wood, the Apostate Prophet, to name just a few), the truth about Islam is getting out — even to Muslims, increasing numbers of whom are abandoning Islam.

The lefties who side with Muslims and whitewash Islam and mount censorship and cancel campaigns against objectors are treasonous weasels of course; they have vested interests in not rocking the boat where it might concern the economically influential oil states so basically their loyalty is up for sale. And we in the West stupidly made this Islamic rod for our own back when those oil states were created and given so much wealth without any binding behavioural expectations on their behalf taking the culturally primitive and aggressive expansionist history of Islam into account.
There is a survey about the decline of Islam in Iran, people could respond anonymously I assume. The results were quite interesting, Muslims are now a minority in Iran, according to the survey at least.

Thus, the FBI is gaslighting everyone about the Colleyville Jihad attack. The FBI is either ignorant (likely) and/or they are afraid of losing their jobs by speaking truth about Islamic doctrine and the motivations, mission, and methods of the Ummah’s now 1400-year global zero-sum war against the unbelievers.
