Of course they won’t. The severity of the disagreement between the Islamic State, or “ISIS-K” as it has lately been styled, and the Taliban has been vastly overstated. The Taliban works in Afghanistan and the Islamic State worldwide. However, as the Taliban moved into Kabul in August, Taliban commander Muhammed Arif Mustafa told CNN: “It’s our belief that one day, mujahedin will have victory, and Islamic law will come not to just Afghanistan, but all over the world. We are not in a hurry. We believe it will come one day. Jihad will not end until the last day.” Then in early September, another Taliban commander declared: “We are happy that we are victorious. We fought for 20 years. We want Islamic law, and not just in Afghanistan.”
That will lead to cooperation between the Islamic State and the Taliban.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The Taliban on Saturday ruled out cooperation with the U.S. to contain extremist groups in Afghanistan, staking out an uncompromising position on a key issue ahead of the first direct talks between the former foes since America withdrew from the country in August.
Senior Taliban officials and U.S. representatives are to meet Saturday and Sunday in Doha, the capital of the Persian Gulf state of Qatar. Officials from both sides have said issues include reining in extremist groups and the evacuation of foreign citizens and Afghans from the country. The Taliban have signaled flexibility on evacuations.
Taliban political spokesman Suhail Shaheen told The Associated Press there would be no cooperation with Washington on going after the increasingly active Islamic State group affiliate in Afghanistan. IS has taken responsibility for a number of attacks, including a suicide bombing that killed 46 minority Shiite Muslims and wounded dozens as they prayed in a mosque.
“We are able to tackle Daesh independently,” Shaheen said, when asked whether the Taliban would work with the U.S. to contain the Islamic State affiliate. He used an Arabic acronym for IS.
IS has carried out relentless assaults on the country’s Shiite Muslims since emerging in eastern Afghanistan in 2014. IS is also seen as the greatest threat to the United States.
The weekend meetings in Doha are the first since U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan in late August, ending a 20-year military presence, and the Taliban rose to power in the nation. The U.S. has made it clear the talks are not a preamble to recognition.
The talks also come on the heels of two days of difficult discussions between Pakistani officials and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Islamabad. The focus of those talks was also Afghanistan. Pakistani officials urged the U.S. to engage with Afghanistan’s new rulers and release billions of dollars in international funds to stave off an economic meltdown….

Opposed to progress is one way of putting it but they aren’t averse to using 20th and 21st century weapons just the same, funny that, so it would seem that Muslims are selective when it comes to accepting progress.
They also don’t seem to have any problems getting treated with modern medical techniques in Israel, of all places, when their survival is in question so it would seem there is plenty of hypocrisy to be had within the confines of Islam.
Maybe we should confine ourselves to dismantling Islam but that seems such a desolate choice when most cultures have been taken over by it and that is happening right now in our own countries.
There is only one standout that might survive indefinitely, and that is China of course but the CCP is almost as bad as Islam so where is the advantage?
Maybe there is some hope that there is a large percentage of Muslims that remain in the grip of Islam because they don’t know how to get out without getting killed and they don’t know who they can trust so they play along for now.
Looking at history there is one description that fits Islam very well and that is stagnation, the entire relevant knowledge of Islam is contained in three volumes, the Koran the Sira and the Hadith, everything else was brought into Islamic civilization by stealing knowledge from cultures they destroyed and the capture of people who were more advanced and used as slaves, anything that was deemed as contradictory to Islam was usually destroyed so they are responsible for the loss of untold amounts of early learning and knowledge.

You make a lot of good points there, gregbeetham. I also hope that there are a large percentage of Muslims who are afraid to dump the outdated load of crap because they would possibly be killed for leaving it, but who don’t really believe all that strongly. Islam seems like such outdated garbage in all areas of human life. The attitudes to women, the pedophilia with the child brides, the honour killings over trivial rubbish, and on and on the list primitive crap goes. Unfortunately, Islam doesn’t seem to be going the way of the old Aztec religion, which is what should happen to such a disgustingly primitive leftover from mankind’s more barbaric past. Hopefully, somehow Islam, this disgraceful and totally barbaric ideology, will fall apart. I think the main thing is to keep Muslims out of all non-Muslim countries, so we don’t have to put up with the endless trouble they bring. Also, maybe, countries dependent on the oil from Muslim Arab countries can break free of the dependency and then, without the wealth and power that oil gives the Muslim Arab countries, we might be able to ignore the Muslims as completely irrelevant.

Yes, it is alarming. I have watched a bit of Bill Warner in the past and he impresses me a lot. The problem seems to be getting enough of the average people in all our societies to wake the hell up when it comes to islam. I used to write to the politicians here in Australia and try to wake them up. I would send them those quotes from the Koran calling on Muslims to kill non-Muslims because i was convinced that most politicians were clueless about islam. Of course, the fact that so much of the media tries to sugar coat islam doesn’t help. It keeps people in the dark about islam’s evil nature.

I don’t think Islam could exist without enemies. All this talk about a World united under one version of Sunni Islam never gets past the stage it was at in the years just after Muhammad died. Islam has always been more defined by what it isn’t than what it is. With no one left to be superior to, to hate or to lord over the religion reveals itself to be a borrowed, uninspiring jumble of chaotic thoughts. This man would be comical but for the blood on his hands.

The difference between ISIS and the Taliban is political organization. The Taliban wishes for an ’emirate’ run by the ‘amir’ (commander) of a small state. ISIS wants to restore the imperial caliphate, and then, take over the world.
