My latest in PJ Media:
The famed huckster P.T. Barnum once observed that “nobody ever lost a dollar by underestimating the taste of the American public,” and Old Joe Biden’s handlers obviously believe that they have nothing to lose by underestimating our intelligence, either. That was clear from a new presentation from the White House entitled “The Build Back Better Framework: President Biden’s Plan to Rebuild the Middle Class,” featuring a series of cartoons purporting to show “what the Build Back Better Framework will mean for Linda from Peoria, IL.” Apparently what it will mean is cradle-to-grave dependence on the generosity and good graces of the federal government, as with Obama’s infamous “Life of Julia,” which it closely resembles. Socialism? Unapologetically.
The opening image depicts every little girl’s dream: a very pregnant woman wearing a hard hat and tool belt, and consulting a clipboard. This is the working world of Leftist fantasy, where men are optional and women do all the physically demanding work with aplomb. “Linda is a working mother in Peoria, Illinois,” we’re told. “She works at a local manufacturing facility as a production worker and earns $40,000 per year. She is pregnant with her son, Leo.”
There is nary a word about Linda’s husband or lack thereof, or of Leo’s father. This is noteworthy on a number of levels, not least the fact that the United States government is here presenting as exemplary a single mother and broken family. Innumerable single mothers are indeed heroic and courageous and have lived lives of selflessness and sacrifice, but the question must be asked here: what is Biden’s handlers’ agenda in choosing to feature a single, and pregnant, woman rather than an intact family struggling to make ends meet? Is the Biden administration trying to promote the idea that women don’t need husbands (and men don’t need wives) and children don’t need fathers? Of course they are — because Biden’s handlers have someone else in mind to perform the traditional husband/father role of provider: the federal government.
The subsequent images say: “Once Leo is born, Linda begins receiving Child Tax Credits of $300 per month ($3600 annually) to help cover essential costs like groceries, rent, and medicine. As Leo grows up, the government helps cover the costs for his daycare, guaranteeing that Linda doesn’t need to pay more than 7 percent of her income on child care. When Leo turns 3, he attends a high-quality Pre-K program for free.”
The images don’t give the slightest hint of who is going to foot the bill for Linda’s groceries, rent, and medicine, and Leo’s “high-quality Pre-K program,” but the web page on which the images appear explains that no one is ever going to have a cough up a penny for any of this except those big, bad, top-hatted plutocrats.
There is more. Read the rest here.

Wise men have noted for a long time hat any hand which can give you everything you need or want also has the power to take it away for reasons of their own. I observe that one such reason is that any society based on people receiving everything they need from the government ceases to produce that “everything” that will be distributed to other people. The Soviet Union, where nothing worked, is a prime example of this. The had that wants to give you everything you need will soon enough not have the needed “everything.”

It’s very easy to refute the ridiculous statements made in the government propaganda piece “Linda from Peoria”. The question is, “is anyone listening?”.
Tucker Carlson presents a pretty rational point of view of economics and totalitarianism, at least as logical as you can be in five-minute bites. He’s the number one commentator on mass media. But, elections are decided by low-information, low-IQ voters who don’t have the foggiest notion of economics, logic or the rule of consequences. Their one saving grace is many or most of them are so stupid and unconnected as to not know or care when elections are taking place. The whole point of the voter “enabling” acts the Democrats are always trying to pass, is to allow paid, professional vote-gatherers to track down ballots, get them marked Democrat, and get them transported and counted.
The Democrat overreach, as illustrated by Terry McAuliffe’s statement that parents should have no say in the education of their children, and the tightening of ballot collection laws by the individual states, is putting the Democrats into a tight position. They are pissing off the voters who actually vote, including the dumb soccer moms, and are looking to lose the apathetic scum who are not about to submit a ballot or vote on their own initiative.
So, “Linda from Peoria” is just show-dressing, calculated to provide a bit of cover for the MSNBC and CNN hacks who otherwise might be pressured into doing a bit of research or thinking on their own. The election outcome will be decided by pure power. The Democrats used power and surprise to win the 2020 election. They used the COVID scare to bypass state election laws designed to suppress professional vote-harvesting. My money says there will be a massive uptick in COVID infections a few months before the election. There may even be a new variant with much higher actual death rates and vaccine resistance. Even more vaccine resistant than the COVID variants right now, and it’s hard to think of anything more vaccine-resistant than the ones we already have.

Didn’t ‘o’ have a cartoon about his so-called “affordable care”?
Now, ‘o’ has another cartoon about his furtherance of socialism…slavery in thin disguise…presented by the bumbling, babbling, lying puppet, thinly disguised as president.
Which brings the Eagles to mind: “You can’t hide your lying eyes,” or your lying pattern of behavior.

Build back better. Better than the crime infested, trash, feces and substance abuse ridden democrat cities? What a joke.
Her body her choice but taxpayers she doesn’t know have to pitch in. I guess tax paying business owners need to charge single moms like Linda double the usual price to offset the taxes they are paying to support Linda’s communal child. Also, an argument could be made that taxpayers have a right to tell her how to raise Leo. Our money our choice.

Biden’s Handlers Push Socialism in Cartoon Presentation About ‘Linda From Peoria’
………….
The very definition of Socialism–no mention of who pays for this, of course.
You can find whole grim, poorly illustrated thing here:
https://www.whitehouse.gov/build-back-better/
It is notable that “Will it play in Peoria?” is often used by snooty leftists to talk down to people considered mainstream working Americans–and that is the case here, as well.
“Marine [Don Marine, professor of theatre at Illinois Central College–GI] judged Peoria the way Peorians in the late 20th century usually seemed to judge themselves—that is, dull, banal, and provincial.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_it_play_in_Peoria%3F
As is so common, Biden has nothing but contempt for working Americans.
