The excerpt of the film that you can see here features a quote of Qur’an 16:125: “Call them to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching.”
“Wisdom and beautiful preaching” is an appealing phrase; however, in a hadith, Muhammad has been depicted as telling Muslims to follow up the “invitation,” if refused, with a second invitation asking non-Muslims to enter the Islamic social order as dhimmis, with institutionalized second-class status; or if they refuse both, to go to war with them: “Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them…. If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them.” (Sahih Muslim 4294)
There is no Islamic tradition that teaches that Qur’an 16:125 supersedes the Qur’an’s exhortations to warfare against unbelievers (8:39, 9:29, 47:4, etc.).
If people are suspicious of Islam, Rizwan Wadan could fight that by confronting, rather than perpetuating, the perception that claims regarding Islam being peaceful are disingenuous and based on an incomplete reading of the relevant texts.

Rizwan Wadan is concerned about the ‘IMAGE’of Muslims in Western society or the ‘PERCEPTION’ of Muslims who live their ordinary lives doing ordinary lives. Fair enough. About 85% of Muslims are not in favor of jihadic terrorism and probably don’t know that it is NORMATIVE, CANONICAL Islam.

Surprise, surprise! The British are usually very well-mannered and no doubt treated Rizwan & Co. with polite deference at first……until the islamic community revealed what it is really all about – and then everything goes wrong. But rather than practising a bit of self-examination to see where THEY had gone wrong, the characteristic self-righteous arrogance kicks in and he chooses NOT to understand that the ‘bad perceptions’ following what has ‘come through our representation in films, in the news, in newspapers’ are the logical result of the media candidly showing them up for what they really are. The film is only 1 minute 58 long but manages to pack in a lot of misleading stuff. I like to believe that people act in good faith even when they are wrong but the film begins by repeating the “leave our lands alone & we won’t attack you” theme. Anyone who has done a little research about 9/11 & before knows that Al Q attacked the US embassies in East African countries in 1998. So why pick this theme if not to make Westerners feel-‘It’s your fault’? The film repeats the mangling of Surah 5 (al Maida-the Table Spread) verse 32 “If anyone destroys a soul it is as if they destroy the whole world & if anyone saves a soul it is as if they save the whole world” which we hear with wearying regularity. Actually this is both part of the verse and a pastiche. It then continue with “Terrorism has no religion” and some quotes from the Quran about preaching in a respectful way obviously designed to put Islam in a favourable light. All in all a film made in bad faith I think because the maker reveals sufficient evidence of understanding what he is doing.

Sura 16, from which Rizwan quotes, is number 70 chronologically, and from Mecca, and therefore abrogated by later suras calling for jihad against infidels – particularly Sura 9, which was the last significant chapter revealed to Muhammad. And there is nothing that abrogates Sahih Muslim 4294. The Hadiths by Muslim and Bukhari are accepted by all schools of Sunni Islam.
If Rizwan really wants people to know why relationships within communities have deteriorated, and how Islam and Muslims have been perceived, then he should focus his lens on all the atrocities committed daily by Muslims, which are reported here on Jihad Watch and on https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

A man with great charisma and spiritual attainment who is unable to overcome his egoism and therefore falls into the dark side of the Force. Leftists and muslims always seem completely unable to look in the mirror or take any personal responsibility.
If a Westerner dislikes terrorism, sharia oppression, attacks on jews and Christians or the imposition of barbaric practices in their communities, it must be their fault.
If someone is murdererd with a gun, it’s the gun’s fault.
If you disagree with a female politician it must be due to your chauvinism rather than opposition to the policy or actions.
If you disagree with a non-white politician or activist it must be racism.
