My latest in PJ Media:
Here’s something you’ve all been waiting for: A Muslim filmmaker has produced a documentary hitting “Islamophobia.” Rizwan Wadan, who was part of the technical crew for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Churchill and The Favourite, has directed a documentary entitled Error In Terror about “Islamophobia,” and is now traveling around with it, spreading peace and tolerance. The only problem is that Error in Terror itself only reinforces why some people are suspicious of Islam in the first place and wary regarding its growth in Western countries.
The problem starts with the term itself. “Islamophobia” is a fraught word, because while it is thrown around all the time these days, few of those who use it to defame and smear others bother to explain what they mean by it. It is most commonly used for two quite distinct phenomena: vigilante crimes against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary. Islamic advocacy groups and their leftist allies have been insisting for years that such analysis, too, constituted “Islamophobia,” and continue to try to drive such analysis outside the bounds of acceptable discourse by conflating it with those attacks on innocent Muslims.
Rizwan Wadan doesn’t appear to take any pains to explain what he means by the term, either. According to a report from Britain’s ITV News Saturday, Wadan is “a talented filmmaker who has worked on blockbusters including Star Wars and The Favourite,” and has now “produced a hard-hitting film which highlights terrorism and Islamophobia in the UK. It is part of his Error In Terror campaign, which he is bringing to different parts of the country to inspire communities and effect change.”
“Growing up as a Muslim, living in the UK,” Wadan explained, “I’ve seen our relationships within the communities deteriorate. And that’s kind of happened – from my perspective – through how Islam and Muslims have been perceived. A lot of that has come through our representation in films, in the news, in newspapers.”
Now come on, Rizwan. Honestly, when did you last see a negative portrayal of Muslims in films, in the news, or in newspapers, except in the case of jihad terror attacks in which the identity of the perpetrator was impossible to conceal? The international media goes to immense lengths to make sure that no one gets a negative view of Islam or Muslims.
There is more. Read the rest here.

What exactly is ‘Islamophobia’? It is many illogical fallacies all at once …:
1) an accusation based on seriously flawed reasoning.
A concern for universal human rights cannot reasonably be called a ‘phobia’.
2) a Trojan-horse for introducing discriminatory Sharia blasphemy law
3) a slanderous excuse for censorship of discussion about Islamic political supremacism
4) a non-empathetic, supremacist mirroring of the actual Islamic teaching of hate directed by Muslims against kafirs (Al Walaa wal Baraa=love towards Muslims versus apartheid from kafirs)
5) a subterfuge, which is intended to beat down critics of Islam.” –Robert Spencer
6) a dismissive slander used so that Muslims don’t have to take a critic’s valid arguments seriously
7) a ‘Big Lie’ implying that one should not criticize a supremacist political ideology (Islamism)
8) a “crying wolf” fallacy of distraction and red herring fallacy of irrelevancy and name-calling that replaces Muslims making a reasoned defense of JIHADISM
9) a Strawman Argument: Substituting a person’s actual position or argument with a distorted, exaggerated, or misrepresented version of the position of the argument
– etc., etc.

Non-Islamic religions get criticized ALL THE TIME … that is NOT UNIQUE TO ISLAM!
SO … WHAT DO WE NON-MUSLIMS DO WHEN SOMEONE CRITICIZES OUR CHURCH OR OUR SYNAGOGUE?
Basically, we develop a thicker skin! and then we discuss it among our co-religionists to try to correct a problem or clear up a misconception that outsiders have about us.
Those of us who adhere to a church often hear things about our church that we don’t like or that we think are unfair criticisms. So what do we do about it?
1) we don’t act a bunch of spoiled cry-babies and pout in public and claim we are unique victims … others suffer bigotry too
2) we don’t go around calling all our critics ‘a bigot’ and make lawsuits … some criticisms have so truth in them … and we can all improve
3) we don’t set off bombs or smash windows or go on a campaign to destroy our critics
4) we don’t complain in the media every time we hear criticism of our church
5) we don’t blame outsiders for causing the wrong-doing or claim no one has a right to criticize us
6) we DO however get together to discuss a problem or misconception and correct it whenever outsiders make an accusation of wrong-doing
To say that Islam MAY NEVER BE CRITICIZED is to claim that Islam is PERFECT and INFALLIBLE.
Consequently, since Islam is IMPERFECT and FALLIBLE, then Islam may be criticized.

Star Wars Filmmaker Makes Documentary Slamming ‘Islamophobia,’ Ends Up Showing Why There Is ‘Islamophobia’

Rizwan Wadan says “The biggest stigma, and the biggest cause of division between the Muslim and non-Muslim world, is that our community is tarnished with the brush of terrorism”–note that he doesn’t seem to have any problem with Jihad terrorism itself.
“Error in Terror” was released on July 7–that is, the date of the 7/7 Jihad terror attacks in London. Wadan seems to be rubbing our noses in this.

i had not noticed the release date; GI; thank U for that. as with their practice of destroying the religious buildings of their victims and replacing them with mosques, the jihadis also appear to be making attacks on the dates of their previous attacks. i’m just surprised that there haven’t been any attacks in vienna on 9/11 or 9/12, when the turks got their a**es handed to them by king john III sobieski of the polish-lithuanian commonwealth. perhaps, because that was such a setback for the ummah, they reserved the big attack for the US, the great satan.
