After hiding out in his basement for four days, Joe Biden (I refuse to call him “President”), on Monday finally addressed his man-caused disaster unfolding in Afghanistan. That entire presentation was a mind-boggling litany of bald-faced lies and misdirections. We’ll go through each statement.
Lie #1. Biden claimed his hands were tied because of the agreements President Trump made with the Taliban.
Of course blaming Trump was the predictable first step, but why were his hands tied? He reversed every other Trump policy. What stopped him here? Furthermore, he mischaracterized the deal Trump made. It was contingent upon the Taliban keeping their word, and did not envision abandoning Afghanistan altogether as Biden has done. It meant continuing to provide air support and intelligence, and certainly not abandoning Bagram airfield or allowing the Taliban to seize military hardware.
Biden ignored all military advice in taking the rash, unprecedented action of ordering our military out in the middle of the night. This was not a withdrawal, it was abandonment—a complete abdication of responsibility that is leading to a massive humanitarian crisis.
Lie #2. This was his biggest lie. He said that he didn’t want to send more of our men-at-arms into harm’s way to die in a war already 20 years old.
No one asked him to.
Biden said this to misdirect our attention away from this calamitous outcome by tugging at our heart strings. We all wanted to see an end to the squandering of precious lives and resources in this war that seemed to go nowhere. However, over the past year, no American lives have been lost in combat. Since 2014, there have been a total of 92 U.S. combat casualties.
He sounded sickeningly self-righteous in pronouncing his determination to stay out of Afghanistan to avoid further U.S. casualties. Yet now he is sending 7,000 troops back into Afghanistan to rescue Americans and some Afghans (certainly not all who probably need it) from the disaster he created. This is over three times the number of Americans in Afghanistan before our withdrawal last month. And this is primarily to minimize the horrible optics for Biden and the Democrats. It seems obvious they couldn’t care less about anything else.
It only became necessary because we abandoned Bagram airport in the middle of the night, at the last moment, without even warning the Afghan commander. What responsible leader would ever do such a thing?
And will those Afghans they rescue be vetted by the utterly corrupt DHS? The Special Immigrant Visa program, designed for Iraqis and Afghanis who assisted us in war, is absolutely mired in fraud. Likely we will get some jihadis in the mix. We have before.
Lie #3. Biden said that the Afghan military was unwilling to fight and sacrifice for its own country.
The Afghan army had taken over the fighting entirely. We only supported them with intelligence and air power. While we have lost over 3,200 lives in this war, the Afghan military has lost over 66,000, along with 47,000 civilians. It is a literal slap in the face for the President of the United States to make such an insulting and utterly false claim. There were problems within the Afghan military, of that there is little doubt, but it defies belief that anyone would say they haven’t sacrificed or weren’t willing to fight. And now they stand to suffer even more.
The Taliban are reportedly going door-to-door seeking people who worked for us or our allies in any capacity. They are shooting people in the streets. The freedom many Afghans enjoyed because of the changes we made in their country over the past 20 years will now have that taken from them.
Lie #4. This was a lie by omission. Biden never mentioned why he decided to abandon Afghanistan in the middle of the night. He fled the room as soon as his little speech was over, denying media the opportunity to ask that important question.
Worse, the Taliban have captured tons of war-making supplies and equipment, including humvees, armed mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs) helicopters, drones, weapons, ammunition and other materiel worth $83 billion. Overnight the Taliban have become the best-equipped terrorist group in the world.
This catastrophe is so bad and was so avoidable, it is difficult to believe it was a mistake. Joe Biden, the Democrats and their allies in Antifa, Black Lives Matter and other Marxist organizations have been deliberately attempting to deconstruct every aspect of our society that made us great and keeps us stable and prosperous. I explain this strategy in full in the best-selling book, Who Was Karl Marx, the Men the Motives and the Menace Behind Today’s Rampaging American Left.
We should not be surprised by any of this. Joe Biden is a pathological liar. In the past he has claimed:
- He was the only one in his class to go to law school on a full scholarship
- He ended up in the top half of his class
- He was the outstanding student in his political science class
- He graduated with three degrees, earning 165 credits when he only needed 123
All lies.
- He had a 1/2 scholarship
- He ended up near the bottom of his class: 76 in a class of 85 at his law school
- He was not the outstanding political science student
- He graduated with only one degree, and barely at that
In speeches he has plagiarized British Labor Leader Neil Kinnock, Bobby Kennedy, JFK and Hubert Humphrey.
He also cheated in law school, plagiarizing others’ work. When cornered about it, he said, “I’ve done some dumb things, and I’ll do dumb things again.”
Yes, and now we are paying for it.
This latest action was taken to assure America lost this war in the most humiliating and demoralizing way possible. President Obama did the same thing in Iraq, though he was not as blatant. This is part and parcel of everything we see the Democrat Party doing in America today. It is a strategy to overwhelm our society with problems, regret, anxiety and grief. A society so stricken is weak and vulnerable.
Joe Biden was almost certainly taking his orders from Communist China. His entire family’s scandal-ridden relationship with China puts Biden under their control. He is not on our side! China and the Russians have had their eyes on Afghanistan for decades, and now, by recognizing the Taliban as the legitimate leaders of Afghanistan, China has shown its hand.
A Taliban-led Afghanistan could also become a nuclear power if Pakistan decides to do more to help them. Pakistan, our ‘ally,” betrayed us at every turn, trained many of the Taliban in Pakistani madrassas, and provided safe haven, aid and comfort to our enemy.
Joe Biden did make one true statement, although he meant it to make himself look good, not to take responsibility. He owns every parcel of this disaster.

Joe Biden is delusional.
Biden anounced to the world that America is back. Possibly this is part of his dumb policy of Build back Better.
Just watch Biden on this link and express what you think. Possibly someone will bring it to his attention.

Malcolm,
You’re being charitable when you describe JB as delusional. Someone might be delusional but still think he’s acting in good faith. When has JB ever acted in good faith?
There are other ‘d’ words that apply to him. Dishonest.is the kindest of those words.
Malcolm (South Afric) says
Well you are quite right, when I look at the mass media covering for Biden during his entire career, their vitriol against conservatives, the banning of Trump and conservatives on social media. Allowing the Taliban on the very same platforms , it is a disgrace.
Those who have lost their lives at the airport, falling of the plan, or killed by the Taliban falls squarely on Biden, his administration, and those platforms who support the Biden,

I otherwise agree w/ James Simpson, except for this one
Lie #3 was not a lie. There is a qualitative difference b/w the Afghan military fighting when it knows that US troops would be there to save their sorry hineys, vs them fighting it alone. Let’s say Afghanistan was occupied by an alien force w/ a stated goal of converting them to, say, Christianity. Does anyone think they would have just disappeared like they have? No, they’d fight the same way the Afghan mujahideen fought the Soviets
Truth is that a lot of the Taliban forces had infiltrated the Afghan military ranks and that’s what made the Afghan collapse that much more easier. Otherwise, think about it: the Afghans had a air force, while the Taliban didn’t. The Afghans could have just bombed the Taliban from the air into extinction, but didn’t. We can’t be responsible for every bad move that they made
There are enough legitimate things to ding Biden over, be it the border crisis, ending fracking and the Keystone pipeline and ANWR drilling while begging OPEC to increase production (which OPEC has refused, for obvious reasons)

The Chinavirus (Covid 19 is the pathogen, not the disease) was definitely a plot by the Chicoms to experiment biological warfare:
– They have a lab in Wuhan that takes viruses that are found only in remote areas, such as bat caves, and applies gain-of-function research on it
– In this case, they saw a breakout in late 2019 in Wuhan, and shut down that province from the rest of the country. However, they knew that if China was the only country hit, it would be the only country to suffer
– So they kept allowing travel to the rest of the world, so that the rest of the world got it as well
Had they conducted a deliberate biological warfare experiment, they couldn’t have been more successful

Yes ,Joe Biden is a chronic liar as well as a vote stealing cheating election fraud “President.”
Furthermore, the outcome of horrible man ,Joe Biden in Office seems to have no end or limit .
First, Biden , destroys the US /Mexican border wall security operation with has many heinous and outcomes.
Likewise, Biden , terribly harms the US economy and wrecks the American job market and even cause many American workers to lose their jobs.
Now that fiendish man ,Biden , creates the catastrophe of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and simultaneously inspires more zeal in Islamic terrors organizations around the world.
Walter Sieruk says
Joe Biden is an outright blatant liar ,who is such a loser that he never accomplished anything geunue of of lasting value or worth.. So much so that he fabricates lies so that he will “Look great.”
Biden is such a liar a loser and a cheat that he even had to take part in a major election fraud hoax ,with the help of other in high and low power who are much more intelligent than him, in order to make in appear that he had “won” that november national election.
Futhermore Biden is such an awful “president” that he gave over Afghanistan to the Taliban.
That victory for the Taliban might well be very galvanizing to many Muslim terrorists.
Likewise, this this triumph of the Taliban in Afghanistan may, indeed, serve as catalyzed for different Islamic terrorist organizations further strive to fulfill their goal for the violent jihad for the cause of Islam.
So it’s actually the fault of that President pretender Joe Biden that the increase of the deathly violence of Islamic terrorism in the world because of the awful judgement and terrible folly of Biden concerning Afghanistan that zeal will rise among the jihadists with their Islamic terror entities.
This proves that this bogus president now sitting in the Oval Office of the White House masquerading as a genuine Chief Executive of the USA is a very dangerous and wicked man.

You don’t post my critical comments. It wasn’t totally Biden’s withdrawal, it was more Trump’s. Donald made the deal and he didn’t care about the consequences. How much money and lives and injuries did the USA sink into Afghanistan? The contractors who trained the Afghan army made their billions. A big gift of much modern advanced weapons to the jihadis.

Very interesting post.
You write: “Joe Biden was almost certainly taking his orders from Communist China. His entire family’s scandal-ridden relationship with China puts Biden under their control”.
I assume that you believe that and expect us to as well. It is quite an accusation which you attempt to make an “opinion” rather than a “fact” by using “almost certainly”.
It would be interesting to see what evidence you have to back that statement up other than conjecture.
CogitoErgoSum says
Or it could have been the Russians. Maybe the Russians sold one of Hunter’s laptops to the Chinese. Who knows how many of those things Biden’s crackhead son lost.

I’m being serious. It would have been fair comment to have written: “…in my opinion…” or “acting as if…” or “I wouldn’t be surprised if…”. But to actually claim that the POTUS is taking orders from Communist China and is under their control goes beyond the Pale and should be backed up by hard evidence. Otherwise it’s just the birth of a new conspiracy theory.
I was hoping for a response from JS but the silence is deafening.
Kepha says
Afghanistan was never a winnable war. If the Soviets, who were willing to use tactics just a little shy of those used by their former Mongol overlords, failed to defeat a determined Afghan opposition, the lawyer-riden US military would not be able to, either. While a Trump admin probably would’ve had a better exit plan, and made the Talebs know their feet would be held to a hot fire to keep their end of the bargain, the negotiations opened with the Taleban re power sharing should have been recognized as a face-saving device while admitting the unwinnable character of the Afghan misadventure.
Many of us on JW winced when Bush II decided to go into Afghanistan, knowing as we do both history and Islam. Uncle Kepha always thought it would’ve been much better to quietly tell the rest of the world they’re either for us or against us in dealing with the Talebs and al-Qaeda, then quietly rebuild human intelligence capabilities until Mullah Omar and OBL met with successful wet operations. Or, wait until OBL thought it safe to crow about his victory, got on an airplane, and then ended up captured like the Achille Lauro hijackers (alright; the USA would also have a fund to compensate an innocent passengers on the flight for lost time, and the airline company inconvenienced).
In fairness to past administrations, Khaled Sheikh Muhammad was captured. He should have been tried and executed long ago. I hope long-standing warrants on Zawahiri and some others remain outstanding. Also, I will credit the Obama administration for killing OBL. Such acts should have put Pakistan on notice that we have long been aware of their double games. With such coups, it would have been a good time to call it quits in Afghanistan.
Now, given that Chinese aid workers have been killed in Pakistan, how much longer before China’s deal with the Talebs bites them in the 屁股?

Is there any chance that Biden will be removed as President? I see where a Senator, Rick Scott, has called on the cabinet to start a process of removing him, I guess for being mentally incapable of doing the job. Apparently, only Scott is saying this at the moment. I’m in Australia, so I don’t really understand the process, but it is something about Amendment 25 and the Vice President and the Cabinet voting for the removal and then two thirds of the Congress also decide the President has to go. Biden certainly seems to be totally incapable from many video clips I have seen where he is obviously very confused when trying to talk about various issues.
gravenimage says
I doubt it in the current climate. Then, Harris would not be an improvement, either.
CogitoErgoSum says
Yep, some bleak days ahead.
tim gallagher says
Yeah, I guess Harris (extremely far left I believe) would be worse if that is possible, gravenimage. I heard a very brief mention of the move, I guess by Rick Scott, to try to have the cabinet remove Biden,( on Peta Credlin’s show on Sky News I think it was) and I thought i should check it out. But surely if Biden does show even further decline (even though i get that he is more or less like a character that the people managing things wheel out to deliver lines that they have told him to deliver), there must be a point where they would have to decide that he can’t be allowed to stay in his present position. CogitoErgoSum, it is definitely a bleak situation, for the entire world, having someone like Biden in the position of President.

In the history of the United States of America this nation has a list of having forty -five US Presidents .
The last one the list is Donald Trump. The man now sitting in Oval Office the White House now is not a real American President , he’s a liar ,a a fraud , a bogus president.
Daniel Triplett says
We should’ve held onto Bagram AB and the US Embassy as geostrategic regional assets. We operate 800 military installations in 177 countries all over the planet to extend our reach to project our power and influence. This is what makes us a “superpower.” We have 39,300 GIs based in Japan; 34,800 in Germany; 23,500 in S Korea; 12,100 in Italy; 3300 in Spain, and 2200 in Turkey for example, and no one is whining about closing those bases and bringing those troops home. 2500 troops at Bagram AB is a comparatively small investment, especially when we aren’t losing casualties. We’ve had no KIA in the last 1 ½ years in Afghanistan (compared to 8 killed in Chicago this last weekend alone). In the last 7 years in Afghanistan, we’ve had less than 95 KIA.
Our assets in bad neighborhoods, such as Guantanamo Bay, Korean Peninsula, Persian Gulf, and Bagram AB are particularly important for us to base our Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets to gather intel and monitor our adversaries, as well as the capability to readily deploy strike assets when necessary. Forward deployed assets help us respond quickly to regional crises and serve as a deterrent for any crises developing in the first place.
Afghanistan is a primitive, remote, and dangerous, but it’s also one of the most geostrategic locations on the globe – an important outpost and high ground for us to hold in the center of Dar al-Islam, right between Pakistan, Iran, China, and Russia. We have no other assets nearby: It’s a long 5-hour flight to our closest base in the Persian Gulf. Abandoning our assets in Afghanistan is purely a political decision. Practically, militarily, and strategically speaking, surrendering Bagram AB is one of the worst decisions American elected-leadership has ever made, as we will see in the months, years, decades, and centuries to follow. We just vacated territorial superiority and a strategic high-ground vacuum that will soon be dominated and controlled by powers who don’t like us, like Pakistan, Iran, China, and Russia.
Moreover, for those who insist on conventional war only, without ever using nuke weapons, we must control both the Afghanistan and Iraq territories to strategically sandwich and isolate Iran during the forthcoming kinetic war with Iran that we all know will come.
